Description of Work: Didn't show up at agreed upon appointment time 2 days in a row. Finally came out, assessed repairs and was told I would get a call the following morning with a quote. I finally called early afternoon. Person at shop had no record of that promise. Said he would talk to mechanic at days end. At my urging he agreed to call him right away. Called me back with a quote and arranged to have distributor installed that afternoon. Installation was done. Still didn't fix the problem. Called back with a new quote for a new fix, and arranged to have work done the following day. Called to reschedule 3 times over the course of the next 2 days did repairs. a few hours before appt. time I got a cal saying the parts store had misquoted the cost of the "Igniter" and cost of part would be $500. At that point I decided before I did anything else I was going to get a 2nd opinion. What a nightmare.

 + -1 moreDibs! This was the best car mechanic experience I've ever had. They scheduled me quickly, arrived on time, were thorough, efficient, helpful. Denny, my mechanic guru, was friendly and smart. He was able to problem solve my stalled engine. It's been running great now since he fixed a bunch of little problems. I really appreciated getting his educated evaluation of what needed to be done right away and what could wait. The best part was the mobile part. The truck shows up with almost anything the mechanic needs and if he needs something else he goes and gets it. No weird waiting room, no drop off and wait for the call that doesn't come for hours. It's a fantastic service and available on weekends. I've often wondered why something like this didn't exist...and it does!!! Very happy customer.
Description of Work: Emergency check up for stalled engine. Checked engine oil pressure, changed a dripping hose, changed oil, oil filter, fuel filter, etc.

 + -1 moreI've seldom driven my car in the past year and started having problems with the car starting. I also had a high squeal sound when I started the car that lasted until well after the car warmed up, and had a difficult time making a sharp turn left. The mechanic listened to my concerns before the diagnostic. He was very patient with all my questions and I never felt like I was being hurried. After the diagnostic, he let me know about other issues with the car that I should keep an eye on and the approximate cost, but there was no pressure. I thought the price of the battery was a little high, but overall I think the prices were fair. I've already recommended McFarland's Mobile Mechanics to a friend, and I will definitely call again for any additional repairs.

 + -1 moreI called Mcfarland's Mobile Mechanics, after calling several other places. The prices with the other mobile mechanics were too high or they were not reliable (did not return calls). Mcfarland's Mobile Mechanics gave me a price and stayed with it. The repair was done in less than an hour and they even charged my battery, they did a great job. I would definitely recommend this service.
Description of Work: Replaced the alternator on my Lexus LS400.
