They only sell one brand of windows, Simonton, which is a middle of the road window. However, they had great reviews on Consumer Reports so we went with it. They have a 'double lifetime warranty'..which we hope means that they're good enough that there shouldn't be a lot of issues. Can't imagine they would offer that if they had to constantly send out repair people.
Had them create a new opening/window in our entryway. We didn't want the inside framed with trim so the edges were a little rough and we had to have them fix that. My husband will smooth and finish.
Overall the communication was good but there were a couple of things that weren't conveyed to us until after the installation. They were items that couldn't have been changed anyway (code requirements) so it wouldn't have changed anything had we known sooner.
Connor did a great job of following up with the info we needed to file for our Energy Trust rebate.
Would probably hire them again if the need arose.
Steve, the owner (?), is the a genuinely nice guy. He is, in fact, a large part of the reason we went with Erin Isle. You just feel like you can trust him. His son, Connor, was equally nice.
Communication was good, for the most part. The foreman on our job was a personable guy but overall we didn't feel quite as confident in the whole crew as we would have liked. Had to have a couple of walk throughs and call backs. I believe we're done at this point...think everything is finally resolved.
We may hire them again if the need arose.
the smallest details. Erin Isle has done 2 land houses for me and one floating
house over the last 18 years. This last project was my largest by far. I had
Steve Rumph (President of Erin Isle) do a complete customized exterior on a
$2400 square foot home that included fireplace installation, Oak sliding door, new
windows, new showcase entry, massive covered porch with stonework pillars and
stonework across the full length of the home. Hardy board siding was chosen
with a new staggered width pattern. Every detail was done to perfection.
Steve Rumph is a man of integrity and craftsmanship as is
his whole team. When I needed changes he
made them to specification at reasonable costs. When construction errors were
found in the original construction done in 1980 he recommended cost effective
methods to resolve them. His project manager, Jerad Smith, was on site every
day and very responsive to my nit picking and resolved even the smallest whim.
I grew up in the home building trade and know quality when I see it. If you
want great value and great quality Erin Isle is your best bet in Portland
Oregon.
The foreman (if you can call it that on such a tiny job) was Jared. He made sure to keep me abreast of everything that was happening, gave me great ideas, and was just generally a pleasure to have around.
Despite all the idiosyncrasies of this old house, Steve and his team finished the job on time and did a beautiful job.
I still have bathroom and kitchen remodels to do and will definitely call Steve when I'm ready.
