A large pile of left over rock was left for us to disposition out on the property. The workers that came to do the work were tediously slow, and generally disrespectful of our property. For example the concrete wash out was done in the middle of the yard. The area of the wash out will require replacement of the topsoil and replanting. We came home one night to find a scrap debris pile on top of one of the flower beds. Our trash bins were filled with debris that they should have disposed of. This meant that we were unable to use the trash bins for our own usage. One of the workers would return to our property to sleep in his truck after work was done for the day. Other minor issues occurred that added to the overall impression that the workers had no respect for our property. The overall building came out OK, but there are defects in construction. Primarily, one of the garage roll up doors has miss drilled holes, missing mounting screws, and damaged panel with a hole punched into it. The responce was that the contractor would use calking to repair the holes and damage.Overall the construction was OK, but not someone I could recommend for unsupervised work.
Description of Work: Hired to build a 22'x24', 2 car pole building garage, no electrical, shell only. They were to pull permits, build the garage, manage construction and clean up. Contract signed 6/7/11. 10/25/11 the building got final sign off for the permit. This has been a very long, drawn out project for a simple pole building shell. They told us the cost was going to be $34,000.00. It now is going to be several thousand more to correct the problem. When the city shut the project down just before Christmas, they said they weren't aware that the upstairs was going to be a livable area. John told us to tell the city it was to be future usable space. They stopped the project, said we needed to have more plans drawn to show walls upstairs. We paid $350.00 more to have those plans done. We took the plans to the city, they told us the way the building is designed, it is not designed to support a ceiling. So the whole building needs to be re-engineered. The city also said the proper foundation was not dug out. We need to dig 1 foot down and 1 foot in under the cement slab and fill with cement. All the metal siding needs to be removed and plywood and tieback put up due to building sweating and causing mold. It may need more poles and studs put in different positions. We've got a 42x16 overpriced garage.
Description of Work: They were to build a 2 story pole barn with the upper lever to be living space.
