The Bad:
The actual work date was 3 months later than the install date estimate (verbal agreement, not in contract).
Ridge vent not initially done and was never done completely (eve vents not installed).
Material delivery was not planned well (my wheelbarrow and hand truck needed to be borrowed).
The supervisor promised a discount (verbally again) that was never paid.
My antenna was broken - i needed to discover this and raise the issue
One of the gutters was damaged.
Due to the delay the work was done in the rainy season, it rained of course, they tarped the roof and left many staples in the facsia boards.
Most of the problems with this project were due to poor planning by the sales/supervisors..
The Good:
The actually shingling, flashing, and roof decking seems professional. No leaks yet.
Cleanup was adequate.
Lesson:
Always get everything in the written contract..

They did an excellent job and the experience turned out well. They were fairly priced, punctual and the supervisor was always available here and answered any questions that I had. They finished the work within four days. There were a few small things that needed to be revisited and they came back right away and took care of it. They were great.

They were able to fix the roof and come in close to the estimate even with finding more dry rot than expected; very knowledgeable about the type of roof and noted the flashing wasn't actually installed correctly. They were able to get the whole thing done in about 2 weeks, working around the snowfalls!

Their workers were very professional, showed us what they were doing, explained what they found and show us how they were fixing it. In addition, they coated the roof to help prevent sun and weather damage.

The leak was thoroughly examined, both from the roof and the attic crawl space. I was given a verbal estimate of the cost. I did not have to present for the actual repair and a bill was sent a week later. The cost was within the limits of the estimate. I did have to pay for the workers' driving time and a fuel surcharge, as well as materials and labor.

Very satisfied with everything from the initial phone call, prompt response, honest estimate and accurate fix.

Request for an estimate was responded to quickly and professionally. Work was done as scheduled. The man on the job was experienced, competent, quick, thorough, strong, efficient. He manipulated a 36' ladder by himself though there were large plate glass windows next to the downspouts. 35' off the ground he worked over his head and at an angle away from the house. He was on time, courteous, cleaned up after himself, hauled the old stuff away. We tested the downspouts and gutters with a hose when he was finished and there were no leaks. The price was fair considering the difficulty of the job and the competence of the roofer. ONE OF THE DOWNSPOUTS DID LEAK DURING HEAVY RAINS IN THE FALL. WE NOTIFIED THEM IN NOVEMBER BUT SAID WE WOULDN'T ASK THEM TO COME OUT UNTIL WE'D HAD THE GUTTERS CLEANED. THE COMPANY CALLED EVERY 3 WEEKS TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN RESOLVED BY CLEANING. IT HADN'T and THEY SENT A MAN OUT TO RESET THE DOWNSPOUT. THEY WERE COURTEOUS, COMPETETENT, AND RESPONSIVE.
