They been reliable. Our landscaping looked well manicured.

The provider was easy to communicate with, even when I was out of town during part of the project. Two workers, including Rodger, were on site for parts of four days, working diligently, It was obvious that they desired to do excellent work.

Roger and his work crew worked very well together. Hardworking and punctual. They had a tougher time of it because their hydraulic shovel broke the first day! They had to hand shovel and lift boulders by hand. Roger is a bit of an artist and the end result was more than we hoped for. Besides a little bump in communicating, it all ended up as the best path we could have gone down. A little flagstone joke. We would hire them again for the backyard.

Roger showed up and started working. We laughed about the antiquated controllers that dated from 1991. Once the system was in he could turn on each of the 8 zones and started fixing the problems. In the back yard there were too many sprinklers to get a balance on the water pressure. He moved some and eliminated others. By the time he was done we had water reaching everywhere. It was a very hot day followed by a week of 90 + temperatures. The plants were very grateful. Greg came out and made sure everything was working to our satisfaction. We're are very satisfied.

West Valley gave us very competitive bids, was always on time, cleaned up afterward and did a great job each time they came out.

They did a great job.  They are super friendly and accommodating.  They are also very flexible with our schedules and bill us later if it's better for us.

I didn't realize how much needed to be done until it was done. What a difference! We have a lot of shrubs and rhododendrons up against the house. They trimmed those back and cleaned out all the debris under them but they pruned them in a way where they didn't leave big holes in the bushes. They also cleaned up the moss on our sidewalks and hand weeded the planter beds. The whole yard looks so much cleaner. Overall, I'm just really impressed with the attention to detail.

The work that was done was pretty good. Most of the patio garden looked good, except for the roses, which had only been dead-headed and not pruned. So they're still a mess, with many tangled extra stalks that should have been removed, and I had to do that part myself. But the shrubs that were pruned looked good and most of the debris had been removed except for one area. Joe had come with Manuel, but left soon after they started, so Manuel did most of the work. This was a very small area, about 20 X 20 with part of it taken up by the outside furnace and pavement. Of the $275 I was charged, I paid $200 prior to going through the complaint process. According to the Angie's List rep, Valley West had promised to forgive the other $75 and send me a gift certificate for $50 worth of plants. I have not heard anything at all from them and have not received the certificate. But I consider this mostly resolved.

I emailed a number of Angie's List lawn irrigation companies to ask for quotes for a front yard underground irrigation system. Ryan called right away to set up an appointment to give me an estimate. He came when he said he would to give the quote, and his price was within the ballpark of all the other quotes. I hadn't planned on anything more than a watering system, but as we walked around the front yard, he began suggesting ideas of how to make the yard look its best: trim the too-big rhodies, remove the half-dead and very weedy grass and replace it with sod, add bark dust to the planting beds, etc. He actually had me looking forward to spending my money!! His crew showed up just a day or two later and worked hard each day. Within a week my front yard was transformed. Friends have actually driven by and misssed my house because it is so different! I am going to continue using this crew for regular maintenance - I'm VERY satisfied!

We ended up having to watch over the project much more closely than I would have liked, but the end product seems good. I think the job may have been under-bid, so the value was probably good, but it took much longer than projected to finish, and there were some tense points when prices had to be adjusted before the work progressed. In the end, it was clear that they were a customer oriented company that wanted to do right by their customers, but it took some assertiveness to make sure things turned out the way we wanted.
