John Fouch was wonderful to work with! John completed the job efficiently and performed high-quality work. He was always on time and if he was delayed, he called to let me know. John was very pleasant and I will definitely be calling him when it comes time to remodel my kitchen. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone!

John worked with us on the scope balancing our needs with our budget and items that we were willing to defer or handle ourselves. He provided very detailed and professional documents including the agreement, change orders, change order register, schedule and supporting details. John had a great team that were very friendly and responsive. The work site was kept tidy. John was on site frequently. In a couple of instances John made the call to absorb some additional scope because he felt strongly that the result would be better than the compromise we were willing to make.

I wrote a review on my sons computer back at the time praising John Fouch and the work done. I am still getting requests for a review and don't know why? It was a few years back I have forgotten the actual date. I was satisfied with the cost as I had other estimates from others and I had read reviews of others before hiring.... and I will use them again.

John and his crew came highly recommended by our architects for this project, and the strong rapport between everyone on the project -- the architects remained plugged in through construction -- made for a very positive experience all the way around. The schedule slipped by only just a few weeks from what was originally scheduled, and the workers here on site were always very pleasant to interact with. We lived in the house during the construction and, for the most part, work areas were kept clean and the inconvenience was kept to a minimum. John was a very active communicator, keeping us up to date on the status of sub-projects and promptly responding to our issues. Change orders were efficiently and fairly dealt with. All of the workmanship was of a very high quality, and we are very happy with the result.  We would unreservedly recommend Fouch Building & Remodeling and would absolutely use them again.

John arrived on the first day of the job exactly when he had said he would. In addition, he was a great communicator, letting me know when his workers would be coming by and asking me how things were going. It's important to note that he returned my calls and e-mails promptly. John's employees did the vast majority of the labor, but John dropped by often to see that things were being done correctly. It quickly became evident that customer satisfaction is very important to John. He and his employees were pleasant and professional.
The job took longer than any of us anticipated, but I want to emphasize that the crew worked around my schedule and I was not always home during the remodel. The digging and jacking up the house was more complicated than was apparent when John first saw it. We were not charged for any extra time spent on the job.
I especially appreciated the extra things John and his employees did for us, such as fixing a door that didn't work well after the remodel, even though that wasn't in the the contract I signed, leaving some of the wooden stakes for me to use in my garden, etc.
We asked John to do an extra job for us, which involved purchasing specialty screws for our security door, which had shifted during the leveling process and would not lock. John's employee re-hung the door and replaced the screws. We were charged $50 for the parts and labor, which I feel was more than fair.
It was a pleasure to deal with John, and  we'd gladly hire him and his employees for another job.

I hired them to remove grape and tree stumps, level the area and replant new grass in approx area of 20x75ft.. Also requested them to add nutritional supplements to the rest of the existing lawn as well as weed killer. The completed project was superior to anything I had imagined. The project was finished in a timely manner and the grounds were spotless when they finished and departed. They continued to stop by for the next 3-4 wks and adjust the watering schedule and mow and reseed areas that appeared thin. I am very pleased with the finished project and have asked them to return and assist me in some additional landscape projects.

John Fouch is utterly trustworthy.  Luis did the job and was just great--completed the job in less than a day and right before we put our house on the market (we had a bit of an urgent deadline).  Apparently our buyers' inspector even complimented his work!
We also hired John to inspect a very difficult crawlspace in our new home.  We will definitely be calling on him for future (hopefully more interesting!) projects.

This was a large and scary job. I found John as he was working across the street doing a remodel on a million dollar home. The house had to be shored up and supported so that the walls could be jackhammered down. Then the footings had be be excavated and removed. More excavation was needed resulting in the removal of 3 dumpsters of material. A new wall designed by a Structural Engineer was constructed with oversize footings. I found John to be professional, honest and upfront. He is knowlegeable in all areas and has tremendous experience. In all my experiences with contractors I have never found one as good as John. I give him 5 Stars.I would recommend him for any construction/renovation job without reservation.

I hired John and his crew, Mike and Matt, to paint the exterior of our house and replace a small area of siding around 2 corner windows. The house required some significant prep work as we had many areas where the paint had bubbled and peeled off the house. Mike and Matt showed up when they said they would and worked hard to get the job done on time. Mike did some cosmetic siding replacement around 2 corner windows that made the house look "finished". The siding in this area didn't match the rest of the house and just looked odd prior to Mike matching our existing siding and window molding exactly. After the job was finished I discovered a dry rot area around a large front window. I called John to see if they could come back and fix this, as well as clean the moss off our steep roof that I did not feel comfortable climbing. John returned to evaluate the window repair. A couple of days later he had Mike and Matt return. The window was repaired and the moss scraped off our roof and treated in a couple of hours. Mike was able to fix the window frame saving me a lot of money on replacing the entire window. I am very happy with the work that John did for us. We have gotten many complements from the neighbors and passers by on how the house looks. John gave us an accurate estimate on the job. He and his crew are knowledgable and concerned with doing a good job on time. They helped answer many questions that I had before the job and along the way. We are planning on having a section of fence replaced in our yard and I am planning on hiring them to do the work.

Very well. Greatest bulk of project was finished in time expected, say 95%. The regular crew members were courteous and timely, and overall did a good job cleaning up end of day with few exceptions but that's understandable and we just cleared paths when we needed to. Wouldn't have been a big deal if we weren't still living in the house with a three year old and a dog, and trying to get to our makeshift kitchen on our back deck which was just off of the construction zone. The team was understanding and great to get us a functional kitchen for Christmas eve with a whirlwind of activity the day before and actually on christmas eve morning. We had a minor delay on the stair rails, which took far longer than expected, and some corrections to the flooring and cabinetry, but all eventually were addressed. John worked hard to make us happy. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Our only complaint was a few times we came home in the evenings to an unlocked front door or rear slider. We passed these concerns on to John and he was understanding and reminded his crew to be more aware of this. I would presume this happens at some point with every remodel though. John told me that the one Subcontractor he used on our project that didn't come through as expected (stair rails), wouldn't be used again for future projects. I think this is a good indication that he is looking for good guys to work with and that quality and integrity is of utmost importance.

I liked John a lot. He has a strong sense of integrity and high standards. Everything we discussed along the way he would send me in writing to confirm before doing, with solid price information. He would email regular updates, and checked in every day, doing some of the work himself. John at times had higher standards than I did. For example, when our laundry room work required tracking plumbing into the basement, he insisted on repairing the drywall where they did the basement work. The drywall was already a mess down there from a flooding problem we had several years ago so he actually left it better than it was with no additional charge. When putting new marmoleum on the small pantry area that was the former laundry room, he felt the subfloor was not in good enough shape and laid new plywood down. I can't remember for sure but he either didn't charge us additional or we agreed upon a very small amount for supplies and he did not add in labor. Also, even though our projects were smaller in the scheme of things, he spent a lot of time on the details including stain matching. When original wood trim did not quite come in the right color, he insisted on doing it over without me having to say anything. We also went through many samples to match our grout coloring just right in the kitchen. Our home is a beautiful old craftsman style with a lot of detail, so we very much appreciated his efforts to get even the small things right. The work did take longer than anticipated, but John was in regular communication and I understood the reasons. Since the projects were not disruptive to our everyday it was not a problem. His people were very friendly and respectful, being careful with shoe removal, creating clean work areas, and cleaning up at the end of each day. In another example of John's style - in our kitchen area we have these unique imprinted tiles running along the edge of the counter. They were not properly installed by the previous owner and some have fallen off. John's people re-installed the fallen ones while doing there work and noticed one was missing. During the project and in the time since, John has looked at every local tiler for the tile. Months after completing the project he finally found it and bought us the length of tile we were missing as a thank you for a referral we gave him. He even offered to come in and install it. He also sent the supplier and product info in case we need to source the tile again in the future. The tile price was probably small, but the effort and thoughtfulness were not. Overall, I recommend the company highly.

Contacted John to come out and provide a bid. Once determined the potential extent of the damages, negotiated on price. Satisfied with the price. Work was started when planned, crew was respectful and courteous not only to me but the neighbors they came in contact with. Any issues that were brought up were handled immediately. Crew left the area clean. When work was finished, John came out personally twice to make sure that the work done was to my satisfaction.

The project went great with him giving ideas on what to do with my mess of a self started improvement project. I jumped into redoing some drywall in said illegal addition and quickly found out the framing, or lack thereof was totally improper. John came out and came up with some great ideas and left me with a great covered patio for half the price I could have done anything else!

We had a small window of opportunity to extend our back yard by removing a rock barrier and replace it with a retaining wall. Problem was, the access to the work site is via a neighbor's property and we had very short notice and a very short period of time in which the work could be done, during which time we would be on vacation. We engaged Fouch B&R (whom we had used before), talked through what we were looking for, and when we returned it was done! Amazing. We were very happy with the result.

The jobs both went great. The upstairs remodel transformed our upstairs into a much better space and it looks beautiful. John and his crew were always professional, thorough, and courteous. The job came in close to budget and on time. Any changes to the budget were discussed and documented. John took our loose ideas for a design and perfected it into a functional space. He is receptive to ideas and easy to work with. I would recommend him with no hesitation. I look forward to working with him in the future.

John and his crew did an excellent job on our house. They were always professional and very respectful of us as well as our neighbors. Since we were removing siding that had been on the house for over 40 years, we didn't actually know what we would find underneath the siding. John worked with us to come up with several options to pursue after the siding was removed and was flexible in helping us choose which option would be best. The preparation for the paint was excellent. The boards are smooth and our old house actually looks new. We love the paint job. John transformed the house from a tired old place remodeled in the 70's to a stunning Arts and Crafts house. The workmanship on the front porch railings is exceptional and gives the house a true craftsman look. After removing the boards on the back deck, John discovered that the deck was sagging. He quickly informed us and came up with a plan to fix it that didn't break the budget. The back deck now looks beautiful. The workmanship on the railings is beautiful. After the windows were installed inside the house, John's crew spackled and repainted the trim around the windows. We were pleasantly surprised by this and very appreciative. The new cedar fencing was installed quickly with minimal disruption to our neighbor whose fence we share. The gates work very well. The slope of the land around the house was considered and worked around nicely. John's crew always worked very hard and did excellent work. They always went above and beyond what was expected of them even helping me to store a heavy delivery I received into the basement. They also did a fantastic job of cleaning up after the job was finished. John was very accommodating with all of our change orders. He kept very careful financial records and we were happy to discover we could trust him to keep the finances straightforward and easy to understand. We are extremely pleased with the work John did for us and we will definitely use him for future projects and will recommend him to our friends and colleagues. This was the best remodeling experience we've had.

This was our first home build (we've used them before for remodeling work) and the experience with Fouch Building and Remodeling was awesome. Owner John Fouch is an unusually communicative and articulate contractor who did a great job setting expectations and keeping us in the loop of progress - he actually calls back promptly! Both the city inspectors and other subcontractors commented on the high quality of the work that was done and he commanded a lot of respect from his subcontractors as well. He did a great job working with us to meet the green requirements of the certification we were aiming for. The very few, typical issues or mistakes that came up were promptly fixed to the highest quality. Their pricing is also extremely reasonable. He built another high-end home for another friend of ours who were also very happy with him and has done remodeling work for lots of our friends and family.
Response from FOUCH BUILDING & REMODELING
"THIS WAS A FUN PROJECT WITH FUN CLIENTS! WE HAVE DONE A FEW PROJECTS FOR THEM AND THEY HAVE PROVIDED FB&R A NUMBER OF REFERRALS, WHICH ARE THE FOUNDATION OF OUR BUSINESS. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE REVIEW AND LOOK FORWARD TO OUR CONTINUED BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP."
