Sears - Tigard

Had them come to check out my washer and dryer set, he determined it was malfunctioning due to overloading and that had damaged the transmission. He quoted me over $600 to fix it, which i did not accept at the time. When I called them later to get this quote in writing to give to the rental company they refused, saying that I had "denied the estimate" and they refused to give this to me. I paid them $89 to come look at these appliances so I feel that they should be able to give this to me. That is after all what I paid them for. I have been trying with no success to reach them and get this resolved, I have spoken with various people at Sears and none of them have been able to help me.

They did it very quickly. They did move furniture for me. They put the furniture onto plastic pieces that raised the furniture off of the carpet. The sense of clean didn't last very long. It seems like anything that has happened on that carpet since, has been more difficult to remove. I would rather invest in a carpet cleaner. I have had one in the past, but it was broken, and I was hosting a large party in that room, so I had them come out and do it. I won't have them back or anyone for that matter. It's not their fault, but I have never found that commercial carpet cleaners are worth what they charge. In my experience, they put a solution in your carpet, and don't get it out enough, and it tracks dirt. The price was really good. They came when they said they were going to come.

They were professional. I would use them again only because that is where my furnace came from.

Our experience was fine. They are straightforward. You see what they got, you compare, you pick something and pay for it. They did what they said they will do and we are happy. The price is competitive.

It was good but they were a little too pushy in the sales department.

This review is actually of one salesman in particular, not necessarily his employer, Sears.
Disclaimer: Jim Goepferd is our neighbor and we've known him well many years - but that alone wouldn't merit mentioning if he hadn't earned our gratitude during this purchase. First, when I signed the paperwork, he told me about two different rebates I could apply for worth $100, because the washer is high-efficiency. But he really got the gold when the delivery call came to our home later that day. The warehouse said they couldn't deliver it the next day, as promised, because they couldn't get any of our models until the 23rd, almost two weeks out! I had guests coming to stay for 3 weeks - we couldn't be running to the laundromat and enjoy their visit! One call to Jim and by the end of the day he had arranged for a similar model to be delivered first thing just two days later. WOW. I can't thank him enough for coming through on the initial delivery promise. I'd be writing a very different review of Sears if he hadn't saved the day! Thank you! (P.S. I love the new washer!)
