We had almost every aspect of what we wanted on Houzz, and the planner didn't review this. The quote ended up being off by $5,000 and we had to remove a planned family room fireplace remodel from remodel.
Drawings of the cabinets and layouts were not provided until a week prior to construction start date. We didn't know what our cabinet package came with or if we were going with drawers or cupboards. The biggest surprise was that we thought our cabinets went all the way to the ceiling - and they did not.
Designers:
Were supposed to contact us and set up all appliance, stone and lighting dates within a 2 week window, and that did not happen. I had to call to confirm the counter top appointment, and the lighting and sink had to be done on-line by the owner after the appointment at the store.
Construction:
We were not notified that our calendar had been set up and that we would only have one user ID for 2 people for the portal service.
Appliances arrived the first week of construction consuming an entire bay in the garage. This wasn't ever communicated by any Mountainwood employees at any time nor through their portal service.
Paint: Cabinets were painted 3X. The first time and then touched up a second time after the granite was installed on the island, and again a 3rd time after the cleaning crew came through for a final clean up. The paint still has an adherence problem. Mountainwood Homes was notified on May 28th, has seen the fading and chipping on all the cabinets and has not provided a root cause or resolution plan.
"Thank you for your feedback. While we were aware of the need to address the paint, we appreciate you letting us know about the other concerns that did not meet your expectations on your kitchen remodeling project. We look forward to coming up with a resolution on the painting at our meeting scheduled for today at your home with the paint representative. We value your time in making us aware of things we can improve upon. It is our company philosophy to make continual improvements to our proven processes. We are striving to build clients for life and apologize that we did not meet these expectations."
"Thanks for the great review,[member name removed]. We enjoyed working with you and [member name removed] and are thrilled you are loving the new master bath. Thank you again for your business and hope to work with you both again on another project."
"Thanks for the great review, [Member name removed]. We appreciate your business and are glad you guys are enjoying your space. It was quite the transformation!"
They have designers that were extremely helpful in picking out fixtures, colors and designing the project.
The supervisor was on top of everything. Sub contractors were well managed. People showed up on time, did what they were supposed to do and cleaned up when they were done.
Everyone was a pleasure to work with.
