I called to schedule my initial Big Deal roof/gutter cleaning and was told someone would call me back. They never did, so I had to call them back again. At that time I was told that I couldn't schedule the cleaning because they did not have a work order for me. In order to get a work order I needed to schedule a "consultation" for an inspector to come and check out our roof. Of course, the result of the consultation was that our roof really needed maintenance above and beyond what the Big Deal covered, which is probably true. We had lived in the house for approximately 1.5 years and it had probably been many, many years since the roof was cleaned. There was moss and other debris that needed removal, so we opted to go for the Deep Cleaning Package at $840, to which they applied a $250 credit from our Big Deal Coupon. After the consultation the inspector told us he would submit our work order and someone would call us to schedule the actual work. A week went by and nobody called us. So, I called them...again. The first available time they had was 3-4 weeks out. They came and did the deep cleaning and it looks really nice. I was under the impression that we would be getting a detailed report of the condition of our roof along with this package, instead we got a cookie cutter form where they circled "good" for the condition, with no details.
A few days later we got our invoice in the mail with the billing date and due date the same day that our service was performed with absolutely zero instructions as to how to pay the invoice. They provided their website on the invoice, so I went to the website to pay and couldn't find anywhere to pay. I called the number listed on the invoice to try to pay over the phone and the person who answered asked to put me on hold. Really what she did is transfer me to their answering service who couldn't tell me anything about how/where I can pay my bill. The answering service told me I was transfered to them because the initial person I spoke to had a call on the other line. They told me they would have somebody call me back. Nobody has called me back. I guess they don't want my money that badly.

I joined Angies list because I needed to find a service.  Maybe this apply's to Angies List as well as the selected provider.   I payed $450 for something that did not meet my expectations and now I feel like I need to find another service that I will need to pay significantly more to meet my expectations.  GET THE MOSS OF MY ROOF!!!
1)  I live in Portland,  my house is relatively new, however we are starting to see really nasty moss issues in the 5 years since it was built.  
2)  I went to Angies list to find someone to address this problem.  I found 2 DEALS.  one around $600, One $250 both basically claiming the same thing.  (I THOUGHT)
3)  So we went with the cheaper one.  
4) When the sales guy came out we discussed services.  HERE IS THE THING>>>>>  I pointed out all the areas of the roof where I could see Moss and area's of concern and said I want that cleaned up.  The sales guy explained how they wold do that.  He further said that at this time of year they would "hand rub in treatment" due to the possibility of rain which would wash the treatment away.  The salesman DID NOT TELL ME That this service would not remove the Moss, however he did discuss removing the moss on the gutters  at a significant risk to damaging paint. 
Net is, after talking to the sales person I thought I was paying to have the Moss removed, the treatment hand rubbed in. AND the downspouts cleaned out along with a report. We went through the contract and he went through FAST...  Getting the VIP package.. 
WHAT HAPPENED???   they showed up and said ... we will be here for 45 min and we will take all the debris out of the gutters by hand.    
No report left, No check back in...  I can see the chemicals on part of the roof ( I took a picture), where it was just thrown on.  .... My roof still has all the moss that prompted me to seek a service....  
 Of course this could be entirely my fault for not understanding the rules when evaluating providers on ANGIES list in regards to understanding how to use this tool.
In this initial case I don't understand what Angie's list did to help me ...   and unfortunately my expectations were not met.  AND I must now find some other service to partner with so that I feel comfortable that my 5 year old roof is getting the attention it deserves to ensure longevity.

It went very well,  Tony is self motivated and thought of things we had not.  It was a great experience working with

 this company.  We will use them when ever we need help.

They got right back to me and told me if there was anything wrong with my roof, beucase I wasn't home at the time. I liked that.

This was an Angie's List coupon for their VIP roof treatment.
Making the appointment was easy. The worker showed up on time, completed his work in a timely fashion and let me know when he was finished, answering any questions I had. I received a review of the work done with recommendations a few days later. I had a follow up quote for gutter guards. The quote was completed in a very timely manner.

It was a repair. It went well. They came on time and they did the work. That is all I could ask for. They fixed the problem well. That is all I can say about them.

They had someone come out to review what I needed done to not waste the 3 hours I had purchased. They charged me $75 on top of the $125 for the trip charge. I didn't see anywhere in the fine detail that I would be charged.  If I would've known that it wouldn't have bought this Big Deal.  The actual handyman came out to work around the house.  I wasted 20 minutes explaining everything I told the prior handyman.  I feel like there was obviously no communication.  I let him know that I really wanted my AC fixed for most.  It was pretty evident that he didn't know what he was doing.  He didn't get everything done on my list, and he didn't actually finish my AC.  I did all the clean up, because he was running out of time.  I feel like that was totally unfair.  Someone could just easily shove it through my window and enter my house.  I asked how I should seal it.  The handyman said he knew I could do it and be creative.  I am really upset.  The job isn't even done.

They did a good job.

Jim from Homemasters came out and performed an inspection. They then scheduled the cleaning and maintenance a week or so later. Services were performed on schedule and now our roof looks new again!

Technician arrived on the scheduled date and performed the serivce in an adequate manner.

Estimator and I agreed o what was to be done.  Gutter system was inferred to be similar to leaf guards, open nonsheild gutter was installed. Inferred all flashing was to be replaced.  Chimney flashing was included, my fault flashing was what he said was not in the contract.

My experience with them went well.  We asked for some added on repairs and it was through a different department.  It went fine.  There were some problems with the coordination.  They didn’t charge me anything more than the Big Deal.  The price was fair.

All work was done satisfactorily.  Arrived at the promised time, got the work done within the 3 hours I purchased and kept me advised as the work progessed.

It was okay.  They were here for only twenty minutes which is such a short amount of time but they were fine.

I purchased the big deal coupon for this service.  The service went pretty well.  I’ve been meaning to call them because they were supposed to work on some gutter corners that have been dripping, and I noticed that I’ve got one on the deck still.  The only problem is that, they over sprayed and it killed some of the plants in the yard.  I actually called the manager and he came out, and he was very apologetic.  He took some money off of the whole thing.  All in all, I think they were very responsive.  I don’t remember how much they charged me for their services.

Very punctual.  Arrived on time, cleaned the gutters and the mess left cleaning them out, provided inspection of the gutters, and left.  Efficient.

I just moved into  my new home about 5 months ago. Since there are quite a few tall fir tree around the house, a lot of needles are on the roof and in the gutter. I hired HomeMasters to clean roof and gutter. They gave me a quote $495 and applied $150 discount. They came did the job on a rainy day. I came back home after work and looked around my house. I could see the roof looked cleaner, but still could see needles here and there. The gutter was definitely cleaner. It was full of needles before. They replaced 4 broken tile pieces. But I was not sure how well they had done roof cleaning. Apparently they did not clean stained green in front roof area according to the contract. I called the company on 5/17 and they sent James to my house on the same day. James walked me around house and answered my questions and made some suggestions on how to maintain a tile roof. He said that they applied moss treatment and had to wait one or two weeks to see the result. They did not power wash my roof with that price I paid. They just blew and broom the roof. That's why I still saw a lot of needles on the roof. 
One more thing was that they blew some needles into my living room through skylight. I knew no leaking from my skylight, but somehow they blew needles into my house. James explained to me how skylight worked. Sound like the worker might blew against flash around the skylight accidentally. I was not sure exactly how it happened.
James made some recommendations and left me a quote on cleaning stained green in the front roof, sealing 3 leaking spot of gutter and adding foam around all skylight for $175. But I do not think they should charge me for cleaning stained green in the front roof because it should be done according to our contract. I have to call them again.

Update: Before the work, I told them if they broke tiles, please replace them. They did not tell me they would charge me for that. I thought it would be included in the quote. I put 10 pieces of tiles outside and found they used 4 of them.  Later, I received a bill from the company.  They charged me $20 for each tile they replaced and the total would be $80. This cost was not listed in the estimate. I was not expected that at all. I called the company about the bill issue and also required them to clean the moss on front roof according to our contract. They refused to wave the $80 on replacing tiles ( I think it is very expensive). I required them to schedule to work on the front roof on Monday, but they never called me back.

Don is pleasant and, I believe, good hearted.  He is also knowledgable in terms of home repair.  It appears that he over-committed to customers, in that it was about a week between removing the wood surround for the windows and then replacing wood surrounds.  He said other jobs were taking longer than anticipated, causing the delay at our home.  When the rains were heading our way, the wet wood that was supposed to be drying was going to get wet again, so he had a colleague come and staple some black plastic over the exposed wood.  The fellow placed a staple in the middle of the plastic, which led to the plastic folding in on the center staples and still exposing the wood to the rain.  My husband taped the plastic sheeting so the wood would remain dry.  A few days later, finishing wood was installed around the windows, so at least the plastic was gone.  The wood surround, however, has some rough vertical grain that needs to be sanded to make it look like "finish" wood as opposed to "fencing".  It has now been another week, and the rains have been intermittant, but still no word on when the sanding will be done and then the painting will be done.  So it has taken a very long time for a relatively small project.  I believe it is a case of "over committing and then under delivering".  I wish that he would have been more realistic in terms of when the project could be done - and completed.

They did an excellent job. There was a small miscommunication on the width of the gutters as I wanted to re-use my screens, but they were flexible and everything was done as I needed -- looks good and works well. It was probably the easiest contractor experience I have had, and I have recommended them to others.

They were really friendly. In fact, we were both up on the roof looking things over. I ended up locking us out because I used the upstairs bedroom doors to get on the roof and accidentally locked the door. So, we were stuck up there for a while and he ended up calling this guy that was working in another house across the way who brought out the ladder and let us down. They were friendly and enjoyable to be with. I used them again later.

The guys were great.  They showed up when they said they would.  They walked me through the process of what they would be doing.  They were very good about cleaning up all the "junk" at the end of each day.  They respected the times that I asked them to be there.
