A few days later we got our invoice in the mail with the billing date and due date the same day that our service was performed with absolutely zero instructions as to how to pay the invoice. They provided their website on the invoice, so I went to the website to pay and couldn't find anywhere to pay. I called the number listed on the invoice to try to pay over the phone and the person who answered asked to put me on hold. Really what she did is transfer me to their answering service who couldn't tell me anything about how/where I can pay my bill. The answering service told me I was transfered to them because the initial person I spoke to had a call on the other line. They told me they would have somebody call me back. Nobody has called me back. I guess they don't want my money that badly.

1) I live in Portland, my house is relatively new, however we are starting to see really nasty moss issues in the 5 years since it was built.
2) I went to Angies list to find someone to address this problem. I found 2 DEALS. one around $600, One $250 both basically claiming the same thing. (I THOUGHT)
3) So we went with the cheaper one.
4) When the sales guy came out we discussed services. HERE IS THE THING>>>>> I pointed out all the areas of the roof where I could see Moss and area's of concern and said I want that cleaned up. The sales guy explained how they wold do that. He further said that at this time of year they would "hand rub in treatment" due to the possibility of rain which would wash the treatment away. The salesman DID NOT TELL ME That this service would not remove the Moss, however he did discuss removing the moss on the gutters at a significant risk to damaging paint.
Net is, after talking to the sales person I thought I was paying to have the Moss removed, the treatment hand rubbed in. AND the downspouts cleaned out along with a report. We went through the contract and he went through FAST... Getting the VIP package..
WHAT HAPPENED??? they showed up and said ... we will be here for 45 min and we will take all the debris out of the gutters by hand.
No report left, No check back in... I can see the chemicals on part of the roof ( I took a picture), where it was just thrown on. .... My roof still has all the moss that prompted me to seek a service....
Of course this could be entirely my fault for not understanding the rules when evaluating providers on ANGIES list in regards to understanding how to use this tool.
In this initial case I don't understand what Angie's list did to help me ... and unfortunately my expectations were not met. AND I must now find some other service to partner with so that I feel comfortable that my 5 year old roof is getting the attention it deserves to ensure longevity.

Making the appointment was easy. The worker showed up on time, completed his work in a timely fashion and let me know when he was finished, answering any questions I had. I received a review of the work done with recommendations a few days later. I had a follow up quote for gutter guards. The quote was completed in a very timely manner.

One more thing was that they blew some needles into my living room through skylight. I knew no leaking from my skylight, but somehow they blew needles into my house. James explained to me how skylight worked. Sound like the worker might blew against flash around the skylight accidentally. I was not sure exactly how it happened.
James made some recommendations and left me a quote on cleaning stained green in the front roof, sealing 3 leaking spot of gutter and adding foam around all skylight for $175. But I do not think they should charge me for cleaning stained green in the front roof because it should be done according to our contract. I have to call them again.
Update: Before the work, I told them if they broke tiles, please replace them. They did not tell me they would charge me for that. I thought it would be included in the quote. I put 10 pieces of tiles outside and found they used 4 of them. Later, I received a bill from the company. They charged me $20 for each tile they replaced and the total would be $80. This cost was not listed in the estimate. I was not expected that at all. I called the company about the bill issue and also required them to clean the moss on front roof according to our contract. They refused to wave the $80 on replacing tiles ( I think it is very expensive). I required them to schedule to work on the front roof on Monday, but they never called me back.
