FAST LANE OIL CHANGE

What a disappointment! I was told that a brake-fluid filter was needed for my 98 Ford Escort and that everything else looked good. Needless to say I feel for that added expense of $39.99. After speaking with a service tech at Ford, he told me it was not needed.

Wow! Why have I been going to the national chain? This place was super friendly with fantastic waiting room/coffee bar. I wasn't pressured into other services. Hadn't even really settle into waiting room when they said my car was ready. Plus they vacuumed interior as PART of service. Just a really great experience all around.

Went in for an oil change. They gave me the hard sell on replacing my power steering fluid, which is totally unnecessary according to my car's manufacturer (this is a well-known scam of these quickie oil change places). They did get the oil change completed very quickly, and had a very nice waiting room and coffee. When I got my bill I saw that there was a whole list of items they had checked - window fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid, air filter, tire pressure, etc. All but the power steering was noted as good. I left reasonably happy. Then, thinking about the scam of the power steering fluid a few days later, and realizing that I had not had my air filter changed in a very long time, I wondered if they had actually checked the air filter in their rush to try to sell me that unnecessary power steering fluid change. So I took a few minutes to open my hood and tried to figure out how to check the air filter myself. It was not too hard. I took it out and... OH MY LORD it was disgusting. A bunch of leaves, bugs, grime, seeds, pieces of shredded rubber. No way they checked the air filter or they would certainly have tried to sell me that. Then I got nervous - what else did they lie about? They claimed to have checked my tire pressure and said it was good - no adjustment needed. I rummaged around in my tool box and found an air pressure gauge. Checked all four tires. Two of them were seriously under inflated - 20 psi when the specs call for 32 psi. Only one of four tires was at 32 psi. That is a major safety hazard. OK, so they probably did nothing except change the oil. But wait - did they even do that? Did they do anything except bill me? I have no way of knowing, but I sure won't ever go back there again to find out. Oh yeah, one more thing: I called the manager, intending to let him know what his guys had done (not done). After all, if that were my business, I would want to hear about it if any customer were unhappy. He was not there, so I left my name and phone number. As I should have expected, he never called me back. Avoid this place.

The staff was friendly. Their service is fine and keeps me coming back.The company is prompt they get you in right away and still preform good work.

I was told my radiator was bone dry, so I needed a radiator flush (59.99) and my transmission fluid was brown so I needed a transmission fluid change (39.99). My car was not running hot, and a tune-up was performed 9000 miles earlier. When I told him this his remark was, "Oh the radiator is not bone dry, but the overflow tank is empty". I feel as a woman they tried to scare me into having more work performed than was necessary. Knowing I had been lied to, I did not feel I could listen to any further comments this gentleman gave me, including other repairs my car may have needed. When I called and spoke to the manager he said they did not mean bone dry. I replied, "I thought it was done because I was a woman". I was then told, "Have a nice day." I went to this service provider because all of their advertising shows Penzoil and that is the brand of oil I prefer. I noted on the receipt that the oil used was Chevron.
