It was a scheduling nightmare and the communication with me the customer was worse.
1. I scheduled in March for the repair to start May 14th. No call no show. I called May 15th and they said the tub was on back order. The contract person who signed us up said he'd make sure it wouldn't happen again. we rescheduled for June 25th. 2. On June 13th they asked if they could start June 18th. Once again no call no show. we called again June 19th and resumed the schedule for June 25th. Time was taken off to standby for their arrival. The am of June 25th they called again and bumped the start date to June 27th. They arrived about 1000. It took the day to remove the tub and surround and sheetrock. MP arrived Thursday am 0830 to do their portion. It took about 1.5 hours. MP had it inspected and we were ready for the contractor again. by 1330 we hadn't heard anything so we called. They said they had to reschedule. I said no because we didnt have an alternate shower. They said they would send someone. they arrived at 1600 and we found out the job was dropped on him at the last minute. he worked until 2100 and said he would be back in the am.
-Friday June 28th. no one came nor called. I had to call them at 1130 to find out MP was not able to come until after lunch. MP arrived and were done with their work at 1500. My BF had been waiting all day for some type of contact. by 1700 we still hadn't heard from bath planet. My BF called to find out they were not going to come at all and couldn't come until am Saturday! there once again was no communication. As most people we have other things to do than to sit around and wait for nothiing!. I called at 1730 and they said that they were backed up and couldn't come until saturday am and had bumped the customer for saturday am until the afternoon.
Problem #2. We ordered plywood backing and they brought greenboard. the worker said he brought greenboard since we were not having any handles put in the tub. I had to intervene and tell them we wanted plywood. We ordered raised shower head and handles and this had not been communicated to MP. plumber.
*The most frustrating was the very very poor communication. had they called and let us know what was going on as the project moved forward it would have saved a lot of aggitation and aggrivation, a vac day off, and many unneccessary phone calls. I am really disappointed in the poor scheduling issues and communication issues. I talked to 4 different people in the office including Michael the manager. It made no difference.
BTW We never had the same construction person work on the project. In the end there were 3 different men who worked on the project.
Kudos to the workers as they worked very hard and very late to try do what their boss requested. The workmanship so far has been extremely good. It is Friday and we will see what Saturday brings. Also we found out we cannot use the tub for 24 hours after the sealant is applied so it has time to cure. Ever try not take a bath/shower for 4.5 days?
Their work is good so far and that part is an A. Question is if you want to wait and if you want to have to call to find out what the plan or scheudule will be for the repair (because they don't call or keep you posted) and if you want to wait 4.5 days to take a shower, then go for it and if you want a company that doesnt coordinate their repair so that the construction can start as soon as the plumber is finished, then this is the company for you. This information is only facts and it is your decision.
