Living in a house while a major renovation is going on is not easy, but I think Bill made as easy as it could possibly have been. We had him work on the lower level this year and plan to hire him again to do the stairs next year. I wouldn't consider hiring anyone else! He is very easy to work with. He listens, hears what I say and remembers details. He always follows through on things he says he will do. When ever I have asked for something new to be added to the project, he has taken me seriously and has been happy to accommodate my needs. He has a wonderful base of knowledge about all aspects of construction. Whenever there is a problem with anything, he figures out a solution and takes care of it quickly. He has one man that works with him. The two of them did the demolition, all of the basic carpentry work and much more. They have a great work ethic and do not waste any time getting things done. Everything is done well, with great attention to detail. The sub-contractors he has brought in for the job were very good. They their work and were friendly and pleasant to have around, no shouting or cursing, etc. While the project was in process, the roof over our deck collapsed from the weight of snow and ice on top of it. It had been built by someone else, three years earlier. Bill diagnosed what had been done wrong that allowed it to collapse. He added the demolition and rebuilding of it into our project, and had it rebuilt quickly. It looks great and is stronger than before. He notices what needs to be done and points it out. For example the closet in our entry way had the hinges on the wrong side of the door. He suggested changing the direction the door opens, and I realized that it has been a problem since we moved in. There were a lot of very nice things he did on his own, without being asked to do them. For example we had the door to our deck removed - there was to be a new sliding glass door in another room. Bill moved the door that was removed, temporarily, into the area where the sliding glass door would be, so we would still be able to walk out onto our deck and have easy access to our back yard. The weather was pleasant in the beginning, but before a big snow storm, he packed extra insulation around that door, to help keep our house warm. I felt lucky to have him working on our renovation and I highly recommend him!
