Springfield Vacuum & Sewing Center

I picked up my machine, took it home, walked wide circles around it for a couple weeks, and when I finally got up the nerve to begin sewing, the stitches were all bunched up on the underside. I wasn't sure if I had done something wrong or if the machine wasn't working properly after all, even though a swatch of fabric showing several stitches was attached to the machine when I brought it home.
I took it back and he started diagnosing what I'd done wrong so fast that I just said "WAIT! I need you to go slow, and PLEASE be nice to me!!! I'm stressing out over trying to make a baby quilt after not sewing for so long!!"
He heard me. He stopped. He went slow. He was respectful and kind and never talked down to me. After he went through everything and corrected a couple of minor things, he made sure it was working for him. Then he patiently waited and watched me do everything to make sure I could do it when I got home. Honestly, his help meant the world to me.
And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is Customer Service, all too often a thing of the past. It doesn't always take much...just a little kindness, and the willingness to sometimes do just a little extra. I will always remember Dan for doing that. And...I finished a chunk of sewing successfully today, thanks to him.
