"Thank you [member name removed]. I hope to work for you again. Thank you for the kind words."
They had been working but about an hour when Dustin knocked on the door and asked if his co-worker could use my bathroom. To me, this is unprofessional and it was a bit scary. I just met these people and I didn't want a stranger coming through my house. When I declined the request, they took off for some nearby business where the man could use a toilet.
Later in the day, I had to go out several times to keep the men on task, working in the and quot;priorityand quot; areas that I had requested them to address.
When Dustin came to my place earlier in the week to discuss the work and give me an estimate, he told me that he believed they could do all of the work I needed in 3 hours. I suggested that he appraise the work for 4 hours, as I didn't believe they could get it done in 3.
Turned out they worked for 5 hours, and still didn't complete the job. He did bill me for the 4 hours, and offered a $20 discount.
I asked him to return on 6/28/2012, for 3 1/2 hours, to finish the job. He agreed.
On the morning of 6/28/2012, I found an email from Dustin, sent at 8 am, asking if I still needed him to come that day or should he come the following week. And, he told me to call him. I did, and confirmed to him that I expected him to come on that day. He wouldn't give me an ETA, but indicated that he would be here. He never showed, and he never called.
He will never, ever work for me again.
"I can start my day before ten as I do regularly. I do know that I didn't respond when I was supposed to show up that Thursday. I had a job take alot longer then expected due to the rain creating difficult work condtions. There is no excuse for the lack of professionalism in regards to the other job running over and not getting back to . She was a great customer and deserved better professionalism. When we were there the first time we did get most of the requested work done and even addtional in the front that was a desired area but not a priority. The customer only had to come out a couple times and part of it was discussing the different areas. We did do one area behind the shed were it needed work done but wasn't the priority. I owe an appoligie to the customer and wish her the best. This was a rare case in which several factors came together that were difficult to overcome. The customer has every right to be upset as I wasn't respectful in the process and do regret that. I have several references that will speak highly of my quaility, work ethic and professionalism. I'm not perfect and am still working on being more organized and prompt. I'm a fulltime father, husband and work long days atleast six days a week. I'm driving lots and seem to always have long days. None of these are excuses these are factors in fmy daily life. I'm trying to get better and I will. The only way to truly know if I'm a good worker and worth the time is to meet me. Not all jobs go perfect and this was one of them. I did work for five hours, got alot accomplished for the customer and enjoyed meeting her. Thanks for reading my response and hope the best to all of you."
"I appreciate the kind words and look forward to thatching for you guys and any other work in the future."
