The work was performed quickly, and we had water running again by the afternoon.
We would not hesitate to call them again for any repair or remodel work. We really appreciate the speed and attentiveness to our situation.
"Thank you very much for the review. We will be here for you in the future should you need us again, day or night! Nik VanNortwick Service Director"
Received a certified letter a lien was to poised to be placed upon my house. Not sure why, no known money overdue between the contractor or me personally. Don't think this is a friendly way of doing business. [The intent of lien notification is apparently required by law when a project reaches certain criteria. STILL, good business practices suggest such notification be DISCLOSED prior to receiving the hateful thing in the mail] and again we're back to poor communication both internally and externally.
Did not like the disconnect between the 'can-do' representative that came out and the work that was actually done, well not. The project should have been done right from the beginning and now I face not one, not two but three service visits which I'm certain is going to cost me a pretty penny. [The original plumber suggests the lien notice is due when the $2,000 point is reached, dear God they haven't work her more than about 5 hours total] They are indeed available in a pinch but I do not care for how they appear to do business.
I will, unequivocally and without hesitation EVER use them again.
P.S. in reading other reviews 'Nick' appears to be a gifted 'spinner' BEWARE
"Hello{member name removed}. I wanted to take some time and respond to your review. First off, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. While this one is negative in nature, I still value it and will take this information to the rest of the management team to better asses what went wrong on you project. For the replacement of the CPVC under the bathroom area, you are absolutely correct. The plumber did need to make a return trip to replace additional CPVC under the home. That information was misinterpreted by our plumber and was corrected promptly once we were made aware of the issue. For the fixtures, I apologize sincerely because I do not recall seeing any fixture selections. Again, when we were made aware of this, we quickly removed the valve that we had installed and installed the products that you had selected. When we are not made aware of exact fixture selections, we install "standard" plumbing fixtures in an attempt to replace like for like. The certified letter that you had recieved is a Notice of Rights to Lien. This is the email that I had sent to you yesterday, explaining the letter; "Good morning Sir. I wanted to better explain the notice that you have received. Each time that we perform a project that requires the purchase of actual plumbing fixtures, we open what is known as a “ Job Account “. When we do this, state law requires that a “notice of Right to Lien” be sent to you. This notice is created by our supplier and is simply a informative document outlining the right that contractors and supplies have to place a lien on Real Property in the unlikely event that payment is not received. So to recap, no bill is currently due and no Lien has been placed on your Real Property. I apologize for any stress that this notice has caused an please, feel free to contact me with any questions." In closing, please feel free to contact me with any questions or problems. I am the person who you met with on the project and I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss any issues or concerns that you either have already have or could potentially have in the future. Respectfully, Nik"
Choose to NOT give me a veterans discount the second visit.
Misrepresented the facts so they could charge me more the second time.
Service technician was rude and unprofessional.
Stated, "He didnt care I was a veteran and that they already gave me a discount so they wont give it to me again.
NEVER allowed me to speak with the owner so he would know how his managers were mishandling things.
This is a company where the owner does not know what his managers are doing, and if he does then shame on him.
"Hello Mr. {member name removed}. I wanted to elaborate on your recent review. In your review, you first mention that we gave you a Military Discount. You are correct. That discount was initiated by our service technician when he noticed your Military license plate as he is former Military himself. On the return trip, we did not offer the Military Discount (10% off) as we decided to reduce the over all labor and materials on the invoice for a savings of over $275, a far greater savings than that of the standard Military Discount. You also mentioned that the technicians said "He didnt care I was a veteran and that they already gave me a discount so they wont give it to me again". If you are correct in your accusations, I am extremely embarrassed and I offer my most sincere apology, however I find this highly unlikely as the technician is a Service Vet him self. After reading this review, I spoke directly with the technicians about your claim "Service technician was rude and unprofessional." They made sure to inform me that on several occasions you, as well as your wife, were very rude to them. They did also mention that upon invoicing you, they had to speak sternly with you just to get the opportunity to speak at all. This was the only instance that they could recall that you could have possibly considered rude. Another point you made was that you were never allowed to speak directly with the owner, Kevin. After asking the entire staff, collectively we can not recall this request. My name is Nik and I am the Director of Service and Operations, as I handle things of this nature. Kevin is involved with a completely different side of the company so I would be the person with whom you would have dealt with. We take customer satisfaction very seriously here at Kevin Cohen Plumbing and I would love the opportunity to work through some of these issues with you. I am wondering, since so much time has elapsed from the time of service to the time you posted this review, could the facts be remembered incorrectly? Please feel free to contact me with any customer service needs. Respectfully, Nik VanNortwick Director of Service and Operations"

While we hope that you don't need the services of a plumber with any frequency, we will be here for you in the event that you do. Thanks again."
We called and had someone there within an hour.
It took almost 2.5 hours for the plumber to get to the leak. He had to dig down about 3 feet and then he had to pinpoint where it was. THIS GUY WORKED HARD. The hole kept filling up with water so he had to siphon it out so he could see. 3 feet of wet, clay soil is quite a task to move on a hot, summer afternoon. I felt he worked as quickly as possible given the conditions.
Once he located the leak he went to repairing it right away.
When he turned back on the water, he stayed to make sure, god forbid, there wasn't another leak on the same pipe and that the system was flushed.
I was truly impressed by how hard the plumber worked to solve the problem and his willingness to go the distance under those conditions. Several times during the period he was digging I had to go inside just to cool off - and I wasn't working half as hard as he was.
Twice he had to leave to get supplies, once for the siphon and the other to get pipe and clamps, which I thought should have probably been on his truck.
Other than leaving to get supplies, I felt that he did an excellent job. Very professional, no complaining or cursing.. I would have liked it to cost less but with the energy he put into our issue- I felt it was worth it.
"Hello and good day. I wanted to thank you for your feed back. We take great pride in all of our plumbers and appreciate you taking the time to communicate your experiences. If you have any plumbing needs in the future, we will be here for you 24/7."
"Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We take customer satisfaction very seriously and we value your input. It was a pleasure working with you on the water service replacement and we hope that if you ever have a plumbing need in the future, you will call upon our team to help you with all of your plumbing needs."
"Good day. I wanted to take a moment and reach out to you. While we make every attempt to keep all of the parts necessary to complete all of the most common plumbing repairs on our trucks, we unfortunately do need to get parts on occasion. I looked in our system and can not find where we serviced your home on the dates specified. My intention was to see what repairs were done and determine if the parts that we needed to go get should have been stocked on the truck as typical plumbing repair items. I would like to credit you for the additional time spent getting parts if they are indeed parts that we would have typically stocked on the truck. My name is Nik and I am the Service Director here at Kevin Cohen Plumbing. If possible, please feel free to contact me at my office (541-607-9208) so that I may investigate this further and see if I could initiate a refund for the time spent getting parts to complete your repair. Customer satisfaction is very important to us and we look forward to the possibility of earning your loyalty. Thank you for the time you have already spent in sending this review."
First interaction was to replace leaking water heater. Prompt and smooth interaction. Nice guy who came for work.
Second visit to find leak behind shower. Prompt and curteous kid came out but reinstalled shower faucet upside down. Returned at my request to fix and replace shower hardware for cosmetic reasons. It went fine but caulking is already peeling. Condo HOA also hired them to replace an internal water shutoff valve and Nick was difficult to get a hold of and did not return my calls when an issue with their work arose. Left my new vinyl floor creased, walls muddy with splatter they were supposed to cover and fill around valve box was cheap and is uneven and left me unable to access valve. The next day same guys came to work on valve outside and insisted on using my electricity for their tools, even though the project was not on my home. This required me to leave my garage door open and unattended. They never followed up on nor fixed my issues with the valve. When they were using my electricity, they referred me to Nick, who again never called me back. For the price they charge, you would think they would care about their work. Disappointed.
Most recently, Cohen also was hired for my bathroom remodel by my contractor and they installed a new sink/faucet and left before checking to see if the new sink held water. I thought that was silly to be missed.
I like they are available for emergencies. Usually the guys are nice, but seem almost too young and inexperienced? Lots of flaws for the cost.
"Hello [member name removed]. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Whether its a positive or a negative review, we greatly appreciate the feedback. I wanted to take a moment and respond to you personally. My name is Nik and I am the service Director here at Kevin Cohen Plumbing. First off, I wanted to extend to you my apology for not have satisfying your expectations. We strive to meet the expectations of all of our customers and it is apparent that we did not succeed in this instance. I am the Nik that you referred to in your review, however I do not recall missing you calls. I make every effort to answer my phone, or at least return my missed calls within a reasonable time. Regardless, I apologize for not communicating with you as well as I should have. We should have never asked to use your electricity if the work was not being performed for your unit. We supply generators for just this instance. While we make every attempt to leave the work area in as good as condition as we found it, we clearly did not succeed in this instance. I would like to offer to send out a cleaning service to help with the clean up if you are open to this. In addition, I would love to talk with you about any other ares that I can offer assistance. Please feel free to contact me at our office (541-607-9208) as I would love the opportunity to make this situation right for you."
