I am saving the best for last... Jeremy was also supposed to do a travertine tile floor in my office. That room was an "add on" and Jeremy found that the cement wasn't poured evenly so there were some areas where the cement was extremely thin. Jeremy showed me the problem and he told me that if he laid the travertine, a soft stone, with expansion and contraction of the cement surface, it could possibly crack the tiles. He gave me other, better flooring options to go with, instead of installing the tile floor. I SO MUCH APPRECIATED HIS HONESTY. He could've kept quiet, did the job and made the money, but instead he did the right thing and was HONEST.
I WILL USE JEREMY AGAIN!!!!
We had a difficult job because we ordered hand-made Mexican tiles. Part of their appeal is that they are - well, made by hand, which makes them irregular in shape and dimension. Jeremy is the consummate professional. He arrived exactly when he said he would, kept the job site clean, didn't track grout and dust up and down the stairs, and never complained when the tile lines gave him challenges. He also used Kerdi fabric as a water barrier under the tile and he did a seamless job installing it.
In addition to our clay tiles, we also bought a "chair rail" type of tile to use where the quarter-round pieces usually go (around the top and sides of the tub). The tile we chose was way too big and looked out of proportion in our small bathroom, but since it was a special order from Mexico we were stuck with it. Besides, we paid a lot for it and we wanted it to work. He recommended cutting each piece at a certain place where it curved, not an easy job. We had just enough tile so any breakage would have been a big problem. He cut them all without damaging any and it just fit perfectly.
After a week or so, I kept focusing on one tile that annoyed me. It just seemed crooked, but the edges couldn't have lined up with any of the others anyway. (It's that hand-made thing, again.) Jeremy came back and replaced it at no charge.
The price was fair and reasonable. The work is excellent Jeremy is a quiet steady worker and friendly the rest of the time. The job looks great! My husband and I highly recommend Anchor Tile. We'll be using Jeremy Moler's talents for our kitchen next year.
I would recommend Jeremy anytime.
I would give him a 10 out of 10.
