Welding
Stopped in shop twice for initial estimates on work, which seemed reasonable. Waited for 2 weeks for work to be completed. Shop did not even call when it was completed, I had to contact them to find out the status of the project. When I went to pick up the trailer, the bill was over twice the initial estimate. When I asked for an explanation of the increased cost, the owner would not help at all and said I had to talk to the employee who did the work. I was told by the employee basically that the estimate was a guesstimate and that I should have asked for a written bid. The quality of the work was good, but not great.
Shop may be OK for commercial jobs, but not recommended for small ones. If you do have work done, get a written bid.
