Three weeks prior to my house being sold, Dan Wilgus was paid to remove a wood stove from my home. The stove was in the corner of the living room and had to be moved over old growth doug wood floors. Instead of protecting the floor with cardboard or a piece of carpet, Wilgus and his workers dragged a dolly across my floor with the heavy stove. The action dug deep lines into the floor across its length. When I asked Mr. Wilgus what he intended to do to remedy the problem, he said "I don't know, I'm not a floor person." When I asked him what he thought a floor person would recommend, he said a floor expert would probably say the entire floor had to be sanded and redone, but that he was not only unwilling to do that, he was unwilling to commit to any fix whatsoever. In fact, he told me he should not even be talking to me because my realtor hired him, not me. I pointed out that it was my stove he had moved, my floors he had damaged and my money that had paid him. He still refused to commit to fixing the damage he caused or even to apologize. Dan Wilgus was rude and he was careless. Two qualities I would certainly encourage people to avoid.
