I i’m only writing on here because I don’t know what to do our experience started out great Hayden the technician that came out for us was amazing cannot say enough nice things about him however things got weird when I tried to call yesterday and their phone lines were down and it said Verizon announcement 24 for your call cannot go through when I googled what announcement 24 meant it said some thing about needing to make payment I’ve had a skunk in a cage for two days now I have left six voicemails got a call back yesterday from a guy who I might’ve been a little snippy with I did ask for a discount for the inconvenience he said he couldn’t I then said OK go ahead and come out and take care of the skunk and I’ll talk to my husband to see what we need to do from there he said OK nobody showed up yesterday and I have called multiple times today and gotten no response and no communication the skunk has been in the cage for going on two days now to me it’s inhumane the fact that they pellet gun it and you have to deal with the stench is absolutely horrible I called another company that said they remove it and gas it which would be much nicer because the smell after a skunk is killed is absolutely horrible. I don’t know where else to turn at this point I wrote a message on Reddit to the owner and I’m sure I’ll hear back but this has just gotten crazy and I am extremely upset… that’s fine if they can’t offer a discount for the inconvenience of there phones being shut off I get it but it doesn’t hurt to ask but for a company to have our credit card info on file and to blatantly Not get back to you when you have a live animal in a cage is just wrong I will be glad to update this review if the situation is straightened out but this is absolutely ridiculous So far we have spent just about $600 with them

Frauds! I'm extremely saddened and really lost a lot trust by hiring this company to help with critters. If I could give less stars I would. I try to be trusting while also being cautious and I wish I didn't hire this company. Here is what happened first they came out after calling them because I heard some scratching near my front door that sounded like it was under the house or in the wall. They sent a guy out and he put a few traps right inside our crawl space door in one area that is one place I recommended. They did not really do a through inspection of any other issues or even seemed concerned about really solving the problem I had told them I have smelled dead animals before in our basement. We have been seeing a lot of ground squirrels and wanted to see if they could bring some traps for those as well and at the recheck for the mice traps they brought a couple outdoor traps but when I went down with the guy to look at the original traps I asked did he see anything or catch anything and he said no he didn't see anything and that's what I was expecting because my husband had just looked into the crawl space because the past couple days we were having some electrical issues and he was looking to see if maybe animals did something to the wires under the house and he didn't see any rat caught in a trap and mind you they were all placed right by the door. I had left the guy in the basement to go outside to look for something and when I got back he had a bag in his hand with something in it and said he did get one big rat with a tiny mouse trap I said wow that weird after you said there was nothing. They don't get any additional money after the initial $250 set up fee but get $100 if they get a mouse or rat so yes this guy brought in something and made it seem like it was trapped in my crawl space the whole thing stinks and I have proof he's a liar and a crook. I let the owner know I no longer want there services and I would like my money refunded and I plan on exposing there practices and he tried to explain it away and would not refund my money. If I had more time I would have explained the whole situation in more detail but I hope if you chose to hire this company you watch and be cautious. I do plan on fighting this It's the principal not the little bit of money. You don't treat people or take advantage of customers this way.

They quickly sprayed outside and beyond the toilet on the inside while indicating that it would likely take several treatments before results could be noticed. Perhaps that's true but I had expected a bit more than a token 15-minute effort.

Squish did a great job and are less "contractual" and more price friendly than many of their competitors. As a landlord I find their pricing competitive and service top-notch.

Not only was Sean the FIRST person to Respond but his Prices were Very FAIR (Killers was going to charge me DOUBLE). Even though he had a tight schedule, he made a special trip out for me because of my circumstances. He is Extremely Knowledgeable & I appreciate his No BS- straight forward attitude. Actually THATS what sold me on him. I like his willingness to do whatever it takes to make sure Im satisfied with the job. I really appreciate this referral- He's so good I plan to set him up with our family Business as our PEST control Guy as well at all of our locations in the area. Sean is the owner of a his own family business which I can relate to and VERY MUCH appreciate. Thanks SEAN for doing such a great job. Looking forward to doing m ore work with you guys! Carri ps- Thanks Sean for making me feel SAFE like I can move my stuff in now! YOU DA MAN!

Didn't show up first appt., Called about 10 minutes before appt and said they could not make appt. - after I'd taken 2 hours off work. Showed up at later appts. without a phone call or time. the last weekend we were out of town, gates locked to back yard so no access to area of concern - and they charged me the full amount ($110) even though we were gone, back yard no accessible and inside house not accessible.

"[Member Name Removed], This is absolutely dishonest on your part. We took care of your carpenter ant problem for you for a discounted price you signed up for, quarterly service. You are supposed to keep track of your service dates. We came and treated your house as agreed upon and took care of your problem and you give that's a bad review? Talk about entitlement. In all the years we have done business we have only ran into a few people like this. I'm disappointed we solved your problem and this was a service that you agreed upon through agreement. our recommendation is in the future if you want to cancel the service cancel the service, do not wait till the service comes in as performed and in this case only the front half of your house was treated because you were not home. we offer Retreats for free in between but we still came and did your service you need to cancel a service before it is performed."

they just set traps and if any got caught they would remove and they would charge us for each removal. They did not make any extra effort to ensure that all of them were caught. We were still left with some in the attic which ultimately ended up chewing electrical wires!

The deal I signed up for appeared to suggest that it would at least somewhat address an existing ant problem. When the workman showed up, he indicated that it was more of a preventative measure and that one spraying alone would not address the issue. He took perhaps 15 minutes at my home spraying the exterior, behind one toilet, and under the sink. There was a guarantee that indicated that if ants returned within a period of time, they would spray again. I waited until three or four weeks after the time period had passed, during which time the ant problem continued. When I called to ask for another spraying, I was told that I had waited too long. In my view, it was a waste of time/money, and the effort was not serious. I got the sense that the initial spraying was a means to sell a long-term maintenance program and only a long-term commitment would address the problem.
Response from Squish Pest Control
"[Member Name Removed], what you purchased was a preventative treatment. This was explained to you at the time of scheduling and at the time of service. Preventative means preventing ants from entering home from the exterior. In this case your home had an active ant infestation and a more aggressive treatment is suggested. You chose to try this method first and in most cases ants do require repetitive treatments. I know it's a lot to take in, but when you hire a service professional it is best to pay attention so you understand how the service works. Thank you, please give us a call if you have any questions."

Ultimately it went fine. We had a pesky ant problem in our kitchen, family room, bathroom and laundry room. We initially purchased the Angie's List deal. After that showed mixed results, we signed up for the annual package. The guys were always friendly and professional, but they seemed to lose interest after several monthly visits spraying there "secret sauce". They wouldn't notify us prior to the visits, so access to the interior of the house was spotty. Calls to them were either not returned or returned many days later. The only silver lining is that after almost a year of visits, the ants were finally gone. Unfortunately four months later they were back and we are still battling them with over-the counter products today.

They set 2 traps in front yard and caught and removed 2 raccoons. Also advised me that an crawl space screen was pushed out which allowed raccoon access under my house. I later used Liquid Nails to glue screen back into place, after raccoons were gone.

After the initial visit where they put down poison for rodents in my attic, they were supposed to come back and do a quarterly service. The day I had originally scheduled with them I had to cancel with short notice and they were threatening to charge me anyway because of the short notice, but they didn't. I rescheduled for the 12th of March and they never showed. I left a call with them on voice mail asking what happened to the service call and Josh called me back and left a message. I returned his call and left a message, but never heard from them again. I will not be using them in the future due to the inconvenience of waiting around for them with no follow up.
Response from Squish Pest Control
"[Member Name Removed], hello we do regret you feel this way. You did miss an appointment and our schedule is the lifeblood of our business we could have helped another customer in that time slot and we lost revenue and the ability to help someone. We did reschedule and the service was completed on February 14th, although you have not paid for your service. we do generally bill if cancellations are not done 24 hours in advance. we did make an exception for you, with this being said your next service is coming up in May. if you'd like to cancel your services please do so in writing as agreed in your initial service agreement. I am concerned that you would leave a poor review you were given promotional pricing, exceptions with cancellations, and you still have not paid for your service. thank you"

I liked the service very much. They used a Have-A-Heart style trap which they left near the opening with bait inside, The squirrel was trapped in about 2 hours. The service came the following day to fetch and move the squirrel to a public park. This is the second time I have been asked to fill out a rating which I first did the day they removed the squirrel,

We did sign up initially because of the special on Angie's list (and they were rated well), but signed up for bi-monthly service, with the understanding of a guarantee. We saw a few hobo's in the house a few weeks after our second treatment and when we finally spoke to Sean, he condescendingly said it was because we had weeds on the side of our house and because they didn't spray inside. Well, we literally had a newborn the week before, so I told him as long as he gave us notice when they would come over, we could be out of the house. A "window" of a few days and hours doesn't work when you have pets and a newborn baby. If you tell us "we'll be over Tuesday between 10-2, I'll gladly be out of the house. He never called to tell us when he'd come over. To his advice, we cleared any plants touching our house a few weeks later, still saw spiders. They came again in November, never notifying us that they needed to come inside. Not a call or knock at the door and we have video proof they never knocked on the door. We kept meaning to cancel and finally sent an email (for written proof) in early January, 2 weeks before our "window". Never heard a word from him. He still came out to spray. I told him we canceled service 2 weeks prior, he said our contract said we needed to give him 30 days notice. Funny, we never signed one and if we did, he has yet to show proof. If we have proof we signed a contract with the statement, that's fine and I'd acknowledge it. Still waiting. He's quick to invoice us but not quick to show us proof of agreement. Overall, while we noticed a reduction in spiders, I wasn't happy with their "guarantee", his rudeness, or their business practices. Happy to give another company our money.
Response from Squish Pest Control
"hello, we treated the exterior of that house for ants and spiders. This account was flagged as an exterior only as that is all we were allowed to do during the service unless you requested otherwise. I had asked multiple times during previous visits if we could treat inside and treatments were declined. We absolutely need notice to cancel our services as with any service business. I was definitely not rude whatsoever when you asked me to cancel your services. I am assuming me mentioning that we need a 30 day notice to cancel Services is me being rude, which is not the case it is me being forward and honest with you. We are a business we have to have proper notification before someone cancels as we could help other customers during that wasted time. In the future when you hire a company listen to what the company says as to what the results will be and the timelines given."

My experience with this company far exceeded my expectations. Having raccoons invading my home was an unpleasant experience, but the process of getting rid of them was the opposite-at least once I hired Squish! to take care of it. From start to finish, I admired the professionalism, transparency and follow-up demonstrated by Sean. I'll definitely use them again, if needed.

Getting ahold of Squish was the first difficult thing- they did respond after a couple tries, but picked their own date and time to come. Since I work from home, that wasn’t such an issue- but when they arrived- the owner said he couldn’t spray inside the home since the furniture hadn’t been pulled away from the walls, and the pets weren’t taken off premises. Nothing had been mentioned about this to me ahead of time so I could prepare the house and remove pets. So he just sprayed around the outside edge of the house which took 5 mins. tops, and said he’d spray the inside when he came back in a month for the second treatment. Never heard from him again.
Response from Squish Pest Control
"Good morning, I remember this account clearly. You had stuff everywhere inside of your house because your a designer or an artist of some sort and you showed no interest in having an interior treatment per your request. As far as pets and animals go they do have to be put away. You stated that you needed preventive measures for carpenter ants and that service was provided. You received your services as requested and as paid for. Have you been seeing carpenter ants? It was your responsibility to contact us if you did. It is interesting that I get a review nearly a year later but with no follow up on your part if there was still concerns. Sounds to me like you're looking for something for free but the service was provided have a great day."

The advertisement on Angie's list stated the service provider would remove one pest from our home. The service provider showed up and only placed a trap outside of our home, caught a squirrel from our yard. There are many squirrels in my yard. I needed them to be removed from our attic. The service provider stated he could not access my attic nor get on my roof. The price of $99 wasn't bad, nor was the response time for the visit. But the service provider complained about Angie's list, complained about the money charged was too good of a deal, and at the end really didn't do what we thought we were paying to have done. Nice enough guy and believe he knew how to do his job. Just didn't do what we paid to have done. Would not do this again and it makes me not ever want to use Angie's list again. The few times I have, the vendors seem like they're not getting a fair deal.
Response from Squish Pest Control
"We did put a trap outside but that was the service that this customer purchased. Customer had expectations that were outside of the deal that was purchased. The entry point was located for the customer without accessing the roof. The service this customer wanted was a different service than what was purchased and would have cost additional. It is true customer did purchase this deal on a promotion but the service provided was equal to the service outlined. My concern is there was obviously more than one squirrel but the customer only wanted one trap set. Customer was not willing to pay additional for additional animals to be removed. How would we solve the problem at hand being restricted to only having authorization to do part of the job? The attic access was not anywhere near the problem area and setting traps in an attic would require the setting of multiple traps bringing extra charges for extra captures. This customer was semi unreasonable about pricing and having to pay for additional animals removed. Even with the risk and cost of damage much higher then the actual squirrel removal. My suggestion is to read the fine print on a deal and understand that vendors and customers must both win on a transaction."
