Things went very well, Mike is punctual and a very good communicator.  He was clear about what parts of the job he would do and what the subs needed to do.

We have worked with Mike on many projects over the past 8 years. He is always very thorough in his workmanship. His pricing is fair and competitive within the market. Mike has excellent communication skills and keeps deadlines to the best of his abilities. It is clear that he takes pride in his work, and his quality is great. Since we have met Mike, we have only hired him to do the work on our home. When the work we have sought is out of his area of expertise, his referrals have been equally superb. Mike is a trustworthy person whom I recommend without reservations.

Mike provided me with the best bid to repair some exterior siding for my house and was available to finish the job under a tight deadline and even painted the siding as a last minute request when I got called out of town. I couldn't even tell where the siding was repaired and I would definitely use Kiwi Construction again.

I have absolutely no complaints.  The contractor and subcontractors were all excellent.  The windows look beautiful and function flawlessly.  The work in the kitchen has probably increased the value of my home far more than the cost of the work.  The work was done so well, no one can tell any remodeling was done.

I can never say enough about Kiwi's Home Improvement.  Mike is consistently responsive, professional, flexible and incredibly varied in what he does.  He made time to come over quickly due to the hot weather pending.



I purchased a portable air conditioner and asked him to come install it.  As it turned out, it didn't take as much work as the previous (deceased) air conditioner.  However, he made sure it was set up and tested.  While there, I asked if he could replace the very old window unit that was not functioning so well.  I purchased one on line and Mike picked it up for me then replaced it.  The new unit was larger and the window required some restructuring and added support to make it safe and functional.

Kiwi is a SMALL job company... Mike admitted this was Kiwi's first bid over $2200.  
Mike is a busy man so he's good but Kiwi's brand exhibits a lack of sophistication and attention to detail that makes a buyer who is paying a premium for the work disappointed.
To begin with, Mike came highly recommended by a contractor I hired off Angie's several years ago, so there was a trust factor already.  But it became apparent through emails and when I gave him a sketch (mostly to scale) that included notes of desired materials, a time to complete and "upfront" payments using a credit card that Mike "glazed-over" to the business side of our deal. Once I accepted his bid he produced a contract that by his admission was a "cut and paste" document from a class he was taking.  
The work began as scheduled and Mike with a helper worked several "3/4" days so a four day job took a week to complete.  The deck is well built but I was surprised by the lack of professionalism during and after the job.  Kiwi's tools repeatedly tripped my home's circuit breakers and he joked, "that's what I get for buying tools from Harbor Freight".  Then there was saw dust and cigarette butts left behind along with excavated mud still covering existing pavers.  And, when it came time to settle up the bill he had to run the credit card charge through his wife's business because Kiwi doesn't have MC/VISA capabilities as indicated on Kiwi's Angie's List profile.
So if you've got a SMALL job and want to pay too much in cash, Kiwi's for you.

I first called Mike to evaluate a leak on the front porch (covered area) at the site of a previous yellow jacket nest.  He discovered the two foot beam was almost entirely rotted thru due to a long standing leak / water run off for approximately six feet of it's length.  Mike removed the beam, opened up the ceiling to evaluate entry points, and set up a support structure for the roof while planning for the beam replacement.   Based on the condition of the beam, it really could have given way at any time.  Mike replaced the beam, fixed any areas found within the crawl space of the roof, and replace the tongue in groove porch ceiling.  It's beautiful!
Mike also worked with me on roofing company evaluations and worked with the selected roofers to do structural repairs as they opened up areas that needed work.

He is very good at what he does.  I have used him many times in the past and will continue to use him again in the future.

Overall, everything was excellent. He is extremely honest, friendly, and eager to please. He seems to know his limitations and when to refer me to other service providers, which I really appreciated. I finally feel like I found a gem of a handyman who is always willing to help.

Mike was prompt, had all tools necessary and clients loved him too. He did a thorough and complete job, he cleaned up afterwards and left client with gratefully functioning home office.

Mike did a thorough job, asked questions if he was unsure what I wanted, wasted no time, and worked hard the whole time he was here.

This particular job was reported as the "ceiling was falling in" and the roof was leakins.   I called Mike and he was able to respond quickly.  He removed a portion of the damaged sheet rock for safety and to evaluate the source.  After patching some obvious spots on the roof, we left it open for a couple of days to confirm the leak had stopped and for drying out.  Afterwards, Mike installed and painted the new sheet rock.  In addition, the kitchen floor required replacement.  Mike evaluated the options and coordinated with an outside contractor to complete the work.

Mike is the first one I call when an issue arises.  He is honest, courteous, responsive, and versatile.  He has consistently evaluated any job, large or small, and presented me with options and accurate quotes on cost.  Mike is easy to work with, communicates well, and I can wholeheartedly recommend him and his company to anyone.  

Mike is very professional. He was on time and kept me posted on when he would be at my house next. I wanted him to fly a window that leaked and he was concerned that it might be a little too much for him, So he was kind enough to research it for me and found someone else to take care of it.
