When we contracted this bathroom tile project, we were not told that the individual also had several other jobs in the process.  After paying a fee to begin, we found the contractor to be able to only put in approximately 4-8 hours per week on the project.  We drew a diagram of what design we wanted, but found out the contractor left out a portion of the detail.  We felt this was a serious problem and after a week of discussion, we had to insist that it be torn out and redone.  At the completion, we still found questionable areas that could not be redone without further delay (and cost).  It was only a shower stall, but took months to complete.  When first speaking with the contractor, he gave us the impression he had done this type of work many times.  Now that the work is completed, we find the drain is not angles properly to drain cleanly. 
The company insisted we pay immediately after the contractor left, even though we asked that they come out and look at the finished project.  They did not.  We paid, but will not use the company again.
