We were in a hurry to get this done so we could move the trees out and install a deer fence and plant a garden. We didn't want to install the fence until the trees were removed. Ted spent a good deal of time evaluating the job and advising us on what should be done and which trees should be removed and why. We feel like we got quite an education. He had other jobs lined up so we didn't expect to see him until Wednesday, but he was able to come a day early and brought his father Ted and cousin Jeff to help him. It was raining and slimy mud on a hillside, but they clearly knew exactly what they were doing. We were concerned about where some of these huge, twisted, leaning trees were going to end up, but they dropped each and every one exactly where they said they would and very little damage was done to the nearby trees. We were impressed with their timeliness, professionalism, knowledge and work ethic. This was a tough job and they far exceeded our expectations. Ted had given us a quote of at least $1,300 but not to exceed $1,500 and when the job was done Ted said it would be $1,300. We felt they had earned $1,500 and then some so we gave Ted the extra $200 as a bonus for a job well done.
Description of Work: They cut down 10-12 very huge trees located in a precarious area and also cut down 8 gigantic tree stumps. Some were located close to a building and on the edge of a gully. We didn't want the trees falling into the gully because we plan to use them for firewood. One clump of trees that appeared to us to be one tree was actually 5 maple trees all together. These were extremely large and perched on the edge of the gully and they were all going different directions. We have woods all around and didn't want them falling on other trees and taking them out or damaging them badly.
