We have both oak and fir floors and they came out beautifully. Jeff scheduled the work pretty quickly and was really flexible with us on working around our general contractor's schedule and splitting up the job. We did our downstairs first and then the upstairs several weeks later. With each job his friendly and courteous crew showed up at nine sharp and worked all day or until that stage of the job was complete. Most importantly to us they used low VOC finishes so there was no toxic smell after. They also did a good job of sealing off the other rooms that they are not working on, protecting smoke alarms from dust, and vacuuming up. You'll have to wipe down the walls and windowsills after they are finished. And if your window screens are on the inside, save yourself a step and remove them first. He charged exactly what his original estimate was. We were on the fence about doing our floors since we have young kids that have already started denting them, but at least for now they look amazing and I think it was totally worth it.

Referral from a friend convinced us that a "buff & coat" process from Oregon Select Wood Floors would restore our hardwoods to a cleaner finish and provide us with an economical solution to our flooring needs.  We were very pleased with the result and would refer Jeff and his experienced crew to others!

This project went very well.  The finished results were exactly what we wanted and even better than we had expected.  Justin did a very nice and neat job.  He kept us informed of what he was doing and was wonderful at incorporating some of the items that we asked him to do.  We were very pleased at the time and effort he put in on the small details that really made a difference to us and made the project completion more satisfying to us.  The attention to detail on the transition pieces was so nice.  Where the flooring met the rock wall of the fireplace and up against the existing tile areas was very neat.  The detail he put in on the stairs and matching up the pieces with the brick on the stair walls was so nice.  We were very pleased with the final results.

As an added benefit, the bamboo applied to the existing stairs must have given the wood enough additional support that it silenced the squeeking that we used to have when walking up and down the stairs.  This is so nice now and looks great.

It was a little difficult getting in touch with Jeff from time to time, but the final results were great.

The owner's name is Jeff Hlavac.  They did a great job.  I had just painted all the baseboards.  They sanded with a lot of care, so I only had minimal touchups to do around the baseboards.  They did an awesome job on sanding the floor.  They refinished it with a couple of coats of Swedish finish.  They did it as a kind of presale prepping of the house.  The floor looks really good.  That's one thing everybody says when they look at the house.  I think it really helped my house.

Jeff is by far the best contractor I have ever worked with. All work was done beautifully, on time, on budget, and with close attention to detail. He did more than promised but stuck to his original estimate. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

The project took about a week to get done and a few more days to let the floors dry before we could move furniture back.  We stayed in the house during the whole process but tried to be gone for most of the time the crew was working because it is LOUD work.  (And dusty, despite barriers.) The crew-Justin and Tom--did all the demolishing and rebuilding and Jeff, the owner, sealed the floors.  In our case, we had some sloping that we were very concerned about and wanted fixed, and Oregon Select did a great job fixing the problem.  We are very thrilled to be walking on a solid and level floor and it is very beautiful.  My only complaint--now our furniture and walls look dingy in comparison.

This company was recommended by a contractor who lives in my neighborhood and we are more than happy with the work they did.  I got bids from 2 other contractors and the bids were all very similar and I think they all would have done good work but Jeff's bid was professional and detailed and we felt confident he would do the work in the way he said he would.

The new look on our floor is great.  Took 2 days to sand and 2 days to apply the four coats of finish, very much worth it.  Thanks for the great work.

Overall, the wood and stain look great. Jeff was very easy to work with and was patient with my many questions. The price was about half of the other quotes I received so the decision to use them was an easy one. One I item I do want to mention though is that the base trim around the floor was not removed. Because it wasn't removed there is a small gap between the new floor and the trim because the existing floor beneath the trim wasn't sanded down to the new level. There is also quite a bit of touch-up painting that needs to be done on the trim because the dark stain seeped through the tape in many areas. Jeff informed me in advance that this might happen so I was prepared for it. I'm not sure if the other quotes I received included removing and replacing the trim to avoid this issue but its something to be aware of when considering cost versus a cleaner finished look for your trim. Again though, Jeff was great to work with, did a great job with the floor and had an upbeatable price.

I found Jeff on Angie's List, and asked for a quote. He came as scheduled and gave me a very competitive quote (about the same as next lowest, 50% lower than highest!). Jeff refinished with Bona Traffic, which is slightly more expensive than his standard Bona Mega. I did some research, and felt that it was worth it to go with the Bona Traffic. Did a beautiful and meticulous job, and replaced a few urine-stained floorboards - I can't even tell which ones are new now. Jeff's a really nice guy, and very easy to work with. He communicated extremely clearly and politely throughout, always did exactly what he promised exactly when he promised. Everyone who has been in our house has been impressed by the job he did. My real estate agent was so impressed that he asked for Jeff's contact info so he can refer clients in the future. I would obviously hire him again, and recommend him very strongly.

The project went extremely well. Jeff's employees, Tom and Justin were just as professional as Mr. Hlavac. As mentioned earlier they installed 1200 sq. ft of Brazilian Cherry in approximately four days. Every day they showed up on time, which was important due to my work schedule. And when I returned home the house was cleaned and dust free. Overall, my experience was very satisfying. My floors are beautiful and compliment my Portland Bungalow. Jeff was extremely helpful and suggested the Brazilian Cherry since I have two dogs. The floors have held up extremely well. Oregon Select Wood Floors was also very honest. The project came in under budget, which Jeff brought to my attention and was a unexpected bonus since his prices were already competitive. I highly recommend Oregon Select Wood Floors.

Jeff and his crew did an EXCELLENT job, were punctual, extremely polite, reliable and timely. Their bid was also lower than most of the other bids we received and included more work and they were very flexible about fitting us in as we were a relatively small job for them. We highly recommend them.
