DJ'S Floors

They did a beautiful job. Rescheduled a few days before they began, but they finished the job on the new schedule. I do not know if the price they offered is competitive, since I did not seek other bids. I purchased the Marmoleum separately.

I liked the fact that I could go to the flooring store he recommended, select the flooring I wanted and then have it picked up by him.  I had no way to transport something of that size.  David arrived on time for both the estimate appointment and for the installation.  The original plan was to just do the bathroom flooring, but while he was here I asked him about the vinyl in my entryway, thinking this would be a future project.  He explained that it would be more economical for me if he did it today, as a different day would require another trip charge.  He went out to his truck, found a remnant I liked and took care of the entryway right then.  I really appreciated that.  I am a bit naive in how projects like this work.  Someone less ethical might have been happy to come another day and charge me for the separate trip.  I learned a valuable lesson and was thankful for David's honesty.  As if that was not enough, he kindly replaced a few tiles around the bathroom which had come loose/come off with the pounding during the replacement of the sub flooring by a prior workman.  I am 100% satisfied and will certainly hire DJ's Floors again.

We called to confirm and with a few questions, but each time we reached senior Dave, who knew nothing about job.  It was like starting over with each call.  When they arrived, the installer we hired who said he would do the work didn't even show up.  Surprise!  He subbed it out entirely, and the workers knew none of the details, including that we were putting in 1/4" plywood.  By that time we had moved our washer, dryer, and sink and everything out of the room and boarded our dogs.  Major inconvenience.  By the time we figured out what was happened, they had started, but we asked them to leave.  Terrible communication, and zero trust with these guys.  Major red flags with DJ's Floors.

They were great. They were on time and on budget. Their craftsmanship was strong. I will use them again and recommend them to other people.

DJ's Floors has done work for me before. Both experiences have been great. We rent part of our house and have had DJ's Floors install flooring in the rental space. They have been great with coordinating with our tenants and with us! The work was done very efficiently and better then expected! They repaired damaged subflooring that I wasn't aware needed to be repaired and installed quarter round moulding and stayed within my budget. The finished floors looked amazing! I know that when I hire DJ's Floors to do a job I can count on the job being done very well and within my budget. I recommend DJ's Floors to friends and I plan to continue using them for any other flooring projects we have.

They were great. I was impressed of their level of knowledge about the cork product and I was nervous to not use the company for the installation but talking to them, I was very impressed about their level of knowledge about the product which was a big deal for me. And then the actual installation was beautiful, they did a great job. They were friendly and professional.

DJ's came to the rescue when we decided installing the laminate flooring we had purchased was too much for us to take on. We needed it done in a hurry and they made it happen. They did a great job at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend them.

They arrived on time and fully prepared. After ripping out the kitchen floor they discovered more damage than expected. Originally they had planned to keep the old vinyl in place but after they got into it they had to rip it out and prepare the floor to take the new vinyl. They did the extra work at no cost which was a nice surprise. Both floors look great and I will be calling DJ,s again. I am a Senior Buyer by trade and work with many different suppliers every day. I wish they were all as professional as David and his crew.

We had an entire kitchen remodel done, and the only job that went totally smoothly was the flooring. Dave and his son were amazing. They installed new Marmoleum in our kitchen, small bathroom and laundry room. Marmoleum is fun, and we had Dave put a three-stripe border around our kitchen island (quote from Dave and quot;if you can draw it on a piece of paper, I can do it in Marmoleumand quot;)! We love our new floor and I can't recommend Dave Pitzer highly enough. He was great to work with and I would use him again in a minute!

Dave was on time and on quote. Workmanship is strong. His crew was clean and considerate.

I had to purchase a new water heater when mine quit working. As per Murphy's Law, the new water heater base was not the same size as the old water heater. After the new water heater was installed, their was an area with no tile and damaged tile.
DJ's had installed the tile flooring in my basement years and years ago. I called them up to see if they could do the repair. He came out to take a look at what needed to be done. Even though it was only a small area, he still had to make a couple of trips to my place for prep work and tile install.
Because they had installed the original tile, they deemed it a repair to their original work (even though their original work was fantastic) and charged me only $90. I was surprised and very happy.
This is a small, owner owned company and the care about their customers. I'd recommend them to anyone.

I called and Dave called back promptly. He came over and discussed options and gave me an estimate. I thought about it for a couple days and called and he was able to schedule me within a week or so. They showed up promptly and did great work. I'm very pleased.

I contacted Dave to get an estimate about two months in advance. He came out and did measurements then wrote up a proposal which included how much linoleum and other materials I needed and alternative design options and costs. He also told me how to order the linoleum and supplies and that he would pick them up on the day the work would begin. I got alternative bids, but chose DJ's because of the reputation, experience, and recommendations. I had to wait a couple months to get the work done because I had other kitchen work that needed to be done first. When I was ready to get the work done, because it was a few weeks away, Dave gave me multiple scheduling choices.

On the day of the job, Dave and his partner showed when they said they would, having picked up the materials. The job took about 20 hours (two and a half work days), but I had been told in advance that it would take longer than one day. Thoughout the process, they checked in to be sure they were delivering what I wanted. For example, they consulted about the width of the border stripe and exactly where it would go. They reconsulted once the template was in place to double check for satisfaction. They worked straight through the day only taking a break for lunch. They were diligent and efficient but primarily concerned about the quality of the outcome. They made templates before cutting the linoleum so that everything fit into place precisely.

At the end of each day's work, they told me where they were in the process and what would happen next. Because my house is older, all the walls are not straight and there are a few other minor quirks, which meant more time was required to produce a quality result, which is exactly what I got. I am very pleased with my floors. They look better than I hoped they would, and I had high expectations.

Inconvenieces (which I was notified of in advance) were not having access to my stove during the first day and a half and not having access to the bathroom for the three hours that the linoelum was being installed. Before they left they told me how to care for the floor to ensure its longevity.

I thought they did a good job communicating and providing useful input along the way. i would hire them again and would recommend them to others.

While the cost seemed high, it was not higher than other bids.

I have to disclose that Dave Sr. and his son are personal friends, but that relationship began as strictly business back in 1987 when Dave Sr. was a preferred installer for a major flooring company that I worked for. Dave consistently proved to be heads and shoulders above other installers by the quality of his work and the professional manner in which he provided his services.

If you're looking for cheap then try someone else - Dave does the work properly and doesn't take short cuts on the preparation, which is the most important part of a quality installation and the easiest place to hide short cuts. That being said you can depend upon the pricing to be very fair and competitive, and you will get the highest quality of work from a very skilled workman. His son, Dave Jr. is the same - they work well together and have the same pursuit of excellent results.

Both Daves would return a million dollars if they found it hidden under your floor - their ethics are impeachable and so is their work. That's why we became friends over the years; I have a lot of respect for these guys.

Their bid was good. It was better than the other bids that I got. It's a father and son team that owns the business. They kind of acted like they were going to be the ones that would install the floors for me, but then they sent out other people. The final job was okay, but they seemed a little incompetent. I didn't trust them. They didn't have the tools they needed. I had to keep going to find it for them when they should have had it. They seemed to be struggling through it in a way that made me very nervous. When I noticed some things were wrong, I pointed it out, and then they corrected it. It wasn't a very hard job to do. They just had to glue down the flooring, cut it to shape and put it in. They didn't put it in well. It was kind of uneven in various places. They did move the job a couple of times into the future, but they did call me about it. I would not use them again.

They did a nice job. They stuck to their estimate, did good quality work, and were in and out quickly.

Timely estimate. Gave us a firm quote on the day of the estimate. Arrived as scheduled and installed the carpet throughout the house in one day. We were very impressed.

I was very pleased with the price and the quality of the work. He came back because one of our pots was left on the stove accidentally and it melted some of the aluminum on the floor. He came out and told me how to repair it without charging me anything. He had originally installed the flooring and the price was reasonable. He was easy to work with. He was on time and did good quality work. He was friendly.

The floor looks fantastic. The contractor was tentative to our needs, even working extra long to help us meet other contractor deadlines. Our floors look wonderful!

We called multiple places but nobody ever showed up because it was a small job. As soon as we called them,they were out that week itself. They kept to the time, they did the work, and it looks great. They were great all the way through. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

There were a lot of things of the installation that were very difficult. I wanted it coved under the spaces in the kitchen so the flooring curves up and they are the only company in our area that does that. I had gotten quotes from other people for less and they said that they could do it and it would be fine but our floor is unusual in a couple of ways. There is a layer of lightweight concrete that had been damaged about ten years before. All the damaged stuff had been taken out and it had been patched with plywood and spackling so the floor was uneven. After he took up the old floor he sanded it and put a special float coat on it that had to dry overnight. He came back and put the flooring in on top of that. It is a mature gentleman and his son who do this together. I'm glad the son is learning it so if I need it done again in 20 years, he will be around to do the work. I could not have gotten it done any better from anyone else. He cost more than anybody else but he also does the best job. I wanted it done right after the problems we've had with it for the last ten years.

It went very well. The door wouldn't close over new threshold and the returned and fixed it. TV antenna cable got stuck in floor and they fixed it quickly, very responsive, cared about the work they did. They took old carpet, etc away - even put felt pads on furniture feet when asked. We would recommend them to friends and gave them a thank you bonus. Floor is beautiful- they told us about floor care and clean up too.
