Building COLLAPSED after 1 month!!! BUYERS BEWARE!!! West Coast Metal Buildings do NOT stand behind their products! We paid additional for the heavier 12 gauge frame material, when in fact they built ours with the incorrect 14 gauge tubing. STRONGLY recommend not buying from this company!!! We purchased our a-frame style 20x50x12 metal carport for our property in Eastern WA in June 2022 with the plan to move our family and 5th wheel there in May/June of this year. The guys came and installed it on 10/19/23. It snowed a good 16" around Thanksgiving and completely collapsed to the ground! Our neighbors informed us of this and we finally saw it for ourselves on 1/7/23. Now we have a $10,000 pile of crumpled metal laying on the ground. After checking the measurements of the metal with tape measure and calipers it is clear that the 14 gauge metal was used. Makes sense now why it failed. We were told by the sales rep to contact Jessica, but instead have been speaking with Sam to no avail. Before realizing they used the wrong material, we were told by Sam that since we didn't have engineered drawings the building is not rated for ANY snow load. After we let him know it was the wrong material he said he needed to speak to his "advisor" and call us back, this was a Friday. On Monday morning between 8 and 9 Sam left a voice-mail stating that he would like to go over our options, plural. When my husband called back our option, singular, was to upgrade our building with engineered drawings for a discount. My husband told him that we wanted a refund because we are not comfortable putting ourselves and 2 younger children under this type of structure. Sam let us know again that he needed to speak with his "advisor" and would get back to us. This was on 1/16/23 and we have yet to have any answers. He sent us an email too asking "how much of a refund are you wanting for this building?" We deserve a complete refund and another question I have is who is supposed to clean up the wreckage?? Thankfully we were not camping under it when it collapsed!

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND USE WEST COAST METAL BUILDINGS AGAIN. From working with my dealer, Brad, to receiving a quote from Sam S. in the office - to watching my GORGEOUS and FUNCTIONAL custom 27' x 20' lean-to building being erected by Pio and Eligh and crew - I am absolutely thrilled with the can-do service and attention to detail I received. I have read many of the negative reviews and I was concerned, but I saw none of the problems others experienced. Did I have a few screws and small pieces of tin laying around after completion? Of course, I did. So, I picked them up JUST like I would have if I had built it myself. In fact, the crew did do a great job of picking up, but hey. It was getting dark. My slab was not square - they worked with it and it's my job to add a little concrete now - but the fact remains that they explained the issue and they worked with me. I had a pool fence and container a little closer than optimal - and again they WORKED WITH ME. One thing I have learned over many years of servicing customers and being served is that kindness and a cheerful attitude are contagious. I am super proud of my new building, and I would caution negative review readers against believing everything they read. These guys do 400-500 buildings a week and we all know most people only post negative reviews. I wish more satisfied customers would post positive ones, because West Coast Metal Buildings does fantastic work and makes a good product. I should note that I live in Oregon and my building crew does work exclusively for the company. Thank you.

I am a Real Estate Agent in Washington State my main duty is to protect my clients. Its an oath/vow that the state of Washington REQUIRES me to maintain with my clients even beyond the sale. I referred West Coast Metal buildings to a senior client of mine in January of 2021. I worked this this client for over a year trying to find her perfect piece of property on the beach so she could build her home to stay in after her retirement. I referred a sales rep of West Coast Buildings to her in January and she ordered herself a new 24x25 metal carport from them to be installed in 10-12 weeks. Somewhere between her order date and when they called to set up deliver West Coast Metal Buildings built the WRONG sized carport. They built a 12x20 instead of her ordered 24x25 My client needed the extra width because there are two cars in her household. And the 12 foot wide carport wasn't big enough to fit both. When West Coast Metal Buildings delivery department person (Jackie) called my client to schedule delivery of the WRONG SIZED 12x20 carport my client noted to JACKIE that that was the incorrect size. Jackie explained to my client that was the size that was built for her and if she refused to accept delivery there would be a 25% restocking fee to put the 12x20 back in their warehouse. And that they had "recently increased their pricing structure by 20%" so to deliver the correct 24x25 it would cost my client even more. My client felt forced to accept the 12x20 carport and RELUCTANTLY agreed to continue with the purchase. That's where I came in. I was in the neighborhood of my clients new home and decided to pop by and say hi and see how she was settling into her new retirement digs when I asked why the carport hadn't been installed yet. She explained the above story to me and I was appalled at how my senior client had been forced into purchasing this carport that doesn't suit her needs. Consistent with my duties as a REALTOR to protect my client from this very thing. I called West Coast Metal Buildings and spoke with a lovely call center person named Aria (sp?) and explained the situation to her in an attempt to settle this amicably. Aria stated that the shipping person was out to lunch and that she would have her call ME back shortly. So I left my name and number with them expecting a call at any time. A few minutes later my client received a call from Jackie at West Coast Metal Buildings. I asked her to put it on speaker phone because Jackie was supposed to call me not her. When my client answered Jackie immediately started scolding my senior client because my client had agreed to accept the 12x20 carport and it was already loaded on their truck and ready to ship out. Then I interjected...... Jackie wouldn't allow me to talk at all. Eventually hung up on me. So I called back to talk to Jackie's boss about how my client was being treated. During my attempt to call, Jackie, then called back and wanted to speak with my client only. Not the individual that was 'yelling' at her. I am a veteran that suffers from severe hearing damage from listening to 5 inch cannons on my ship sound off regularly during my enlistment. I talk loud. But, because I damaged her fragile constitution and hurt her tender feelings I do apologize. But I will not stand by and let her scold my client for refusing delivery of an incorrect product she ordered that West Coast Metal Buildings incorrectly built. After all was said and done at the end of an excruciating 3 hour process, I paid my clients 25% restocking fee for the carport, a total of $504. Just to get these people out of her life for good. The original sales rep called my client later and stated the company has had a lot of trouble with Jackie in the past. Makes one wonder why she's still there. Buyer beware!
Response from West Coast Metal Buildings Inc
"Hello [Member Name Removed], After locating the customer account, that you are referring to as you are not our customer, I have reviewed the account with my management team. The original order that the customer signed was indeed for a 12 wide X 20 long. We did apologize to the customer if there was a miscommunication with her and the outside sales rep regarding the size of the building, but we did call and confirm the size of the building prior to sending the order to production. Since the building was already sent to production and less than 2 weeks before installation, we do charge a 25% restocking fee as listed and agreed to on our contract, as all of our buildings are made to order. Regarding our price increase that took effect on February 1st, 2021, just like the lumber industry, the steel industry has also experienced a large cost increase across the board. Since the customer was requesting a larger building that means we would have to utilize new materials that were purchased at a higher cost. This is not something we wished to pass on to the customer but has become necessary. In reference to the phone call, we had with our customer, it is our policy to only speak with the individual listed on the contract as Ari had informed you during your conversation with her. When someone from our management team tried to reach out to you, you refused to talk with her and hung up on her. When we called our customer back in an attempt to go over her options and not to scold her as you stated, you felt the need to interject and violently scream at our associate and talk down to her as she was trying to help our customer with her options. Our office manager had listened in on the conversation that was also recorded. Lastly, Jackie is a valued employee that was simply doing her job and trying to discuss the customer's options with her directly. We have since talked to our customer and are on the same page as she felt the need to apologize for your actions and attitude with our staff."

Do not order from this company if you live in the country. I Ordered a carport to cover my rv and after 9 weeks we were excited to have it delivered and installed. When that day came the gentleman delivering the carport said he was unable to install it because he didnt want to bring the trailer up a hill in snow ( it was a slight incline), He refused to even try. He told me he would come back the next day with chains and he never did. We even offered to bring the trailer up with our truck and he refused to install it because it was to cold for him.

Our company purchased a metal RV cover last year from this West Coast Metal Buildings. We were very pleased with the cover that we got. It was double poled vertical roof constructed and built the way we ordered it. We purchased the cover from Carports4less, a distributor for West Coast Metal Buildings. We ordered another RV cover 6 months later from the same distributor. The RV cover came today and was installed. I was single poled, instead of double poled, and the construction was no where near the same quality. I called West Coast Metal Buildings as soon as the truck came in with the Metal RV cover and told them this was not the cover I was supposed to get. I asked for a supervisor to call me immediately regarding this error. After the crew had installed single pole cover, Jessica, form West Coast Buildings called and told me there was nothing she could or would do to resolve my issue. She stated that I should have read the order. I reread the order from the first invoice and the second invoice and there was no mention on either invoice that stated single pole or double pole construction. Her explanation was that the first cover was 14' high while the second cover was 9' high and didn't require double poles. This was simply a case of "bait and switch" and I got a cover that was no where near the same quality as the first cover. BEWARE of this companies business practices as they are EXTREMELY UNETHICAL AND DISHONEST. We are currently closing on a small business loan from SBA to install 10 more of these covers. Our storage facility was expanded to be able to store 20 more RV's. We now have the city license, and shortly the funds from SBA, to upgrade our facility. WE WILL NOT BE USING WEST COAST METAL BUILDINGS TO DO OUR UPGRADE. While there price was a little better than local competition, their LACK OF ETHICS AND TRUST has made us realize "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR". We will be using Northside Metal Carports, LLC out of Chehalis Washington for all of our future needs to upgrade our storage facility. I am totally disappointed With West Coast Metal Buildings and their business practices and ethics. We will NEVER again try to save a few $$$$
Response from West Coast Metal Buildings Inc
"Hello [Member Name Removed], We would like to start by saying it is never our intention to deceive or mislead our customers. After further review of your account, you ordered a 24X30 building with a 14ft leg height some time ago. This year you also ordered a 24X30 with 9ft legs. All our buildings under 12 ft legs are single-leg unless a customer request otherwise or if they purchased an engineered model. We never force customers to purchase a double leg if it is not necessary for the durability of the buildings as double legs are DOUBLE the cost. This is not a "BAIT & SWITCH". If you review both order forms, and our price sheets you will notice a difference in the cost and see that you were charged accordingly. However, we are sorry that you are not satisfied with your recent purchase, but we did provide you with what the building ordered. Also, please remember we did review the order with you prior delivery to ensure that everything was correct on the order."

the installation went OK, but after the injstall I found that I was advised badly by their agent, verbally told I did not need a permit. Well, I did, so I tried to work with the company to get a set of plans made. They went farther than any company I have ever seen to obfuscate, ignore, and generally avoid any semblence of responsibility or even willingness to work with me. They demanded a measurement (live snow load) that is nonsensical in a carport and refused to move until I could provide this nonexistant data. So I have pretty much been told to go away. DON'T USE THEM!!! GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
Response from West Coast Metal Buildings Inc
"Hello [Member Name Removed], Thank you for coming to WCMB for your carports needs. We are sorry hear that you were not aware you needed permitting. This is also why we have multiple signs in our waiting room that say "Does your county require permits?". We also have all of our associates ask that specific question before customers proceed with his/her building. Our next question is always asking the customer if they will need drawing/engineering with this building? We also go as far as to put it in our contract, that you signed. Regardless, we tried to help you with your building from 2 years ago to get the engineering you need. All that we need from you is a engineering checklist. The information from that will let our engineer know how to map out your drawings, but you refused to fill out the paper work. When you are ready to fill that out we are happy to help."

Great product and a very good price. WCMB is one only of a handful of manufacturer's of metal building's on the west coast. Like all mfg.'s they sell direct to the public and to so called and quot;dealer'sand quot;. Dealers do not represent the manufacturer and can be anyone who want's to call themselves a dealer. We bought direct and saved the 100% mark-up dealers charge. There are many option's to choose from and the nice folk's at West Cost worked with us to get just the right cover for us. If you can take a tour of their facility in Salem, OR

They were very inexpensive, but they delivered a very high end product and I am very happy with the product. Their people were very fast and efficient. They cleaned up after themselves. It was free delivery, which is what they advertised; they did not charge me anything for that. It was a free setup; they did not charge me anything for setup. So, the price they quoted me for the price of the car porch was the price I paid. They had to call me and tell me it was going to be a day later. They were here at the time they said they would be after the phone call thing they would be a day late.

Response from West Coast Metal Buildings Inc
"The building was ordered thru Circle A Trailers in Bellingham, WA on 8/13/2013. The building was delivered and installed on 9/16/2013. Our contract gives 10 days to the customer to notify us of any manufacturing defects and we will accept requests up to 30 days after the install. Our contract and invoice, signed by customer, states "WCMB is not liable for any damages as a result of inclement weather." He didn't contact us until 1/13/2014 regarding this issue. At that time were told by [member name removed] that some screws holding the metal panels were popping out, causing the panels to move. He mentioned that there had been a wind storm which had caused these problems. Due to our mutually agreed upon contract, the customer is fully aware of our policies. There would be additional charges should the customer choose to have us return to do any further work; although we did offer to send him some screws by mail to his site address at no cost to him. All of our Customer Order forms must be filled out and signed with a deposit to activate the order. The Customer Order Forms must include dealer information and customer information. Circle A Trailers is a dealer for us, they only make sales for us. Once the sale is made they collect their commission and then forward the order to us. We have never had any complaints or issues with Circle A Trailers in the 8 years we have been working with them. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us directly at 1(866)404-7788."

We originally tried to use North West Metal Building in Hillsboro a subcontractor of West Coast Metal Buildings. We ordered via the web and put down $95 using Paypal and our Discover Card on Sept 20th 2013, in early December we received a phone call from West Coast asking if we still wanted our carport? (West Coast is the manufacturer) they told us that North West Metal Buildings hadn't turned our order into them until mid October at which time it was past the end date of the 10% off. They told us that at that time NW Metal Buildings cancelled our order. They were calling to see if we still wanted a carport built. We tried and tried to get out down payment back from NW Metal Buildings; finally succeeded by putting in a complaint with Discover Card.West
Coast Metal Building followed up with us after North West Metal Buildings tried to rip us off. West Coast offered us the original 10% off our carport and rushed our order through; they helped make a nightmare turn into a really nice carport for my boat!!!
I'd recommend West Coast Metal Buildings to anyone that needs a carport or building.

I had placed an order on line with West Coast Metal Buildings on 8/12/11. By 8/13/11 I was contacted by a rep and we proceeded to draw up a contract. By 8/15/11 I was E-mailed the contract, I signed it and E-mailed it back. Within a couple of days I was contacted and set up an installation date and time - 8/30/11 between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The crew (2) showed up by 2:20 p.m. and were leaving, with check for balance in hand by 5:00 p.m.
My leveling job was not the greatest, they did some re-leveling and made sure all was plumb.
I am very pleased with the quick response and the professionalism of the installers. I recommend this company to anyone that needs any kind of structure.
