The Specialists

The project went very well, considering how difficult the job became for them, in terms of scheduling and of course the actual move itself. I have a bone disease that sometimes prevents me from doing what I want to do when I want to do it. So when the original move date came, the buyers backed out of buying my home, 2 days before signing and closure. Yes, 2 days. So I rescheduled. Then on the day before all that was to happen I had to change it again, this time my body backed out. So third time being the proverbial charm, we tried again and everythiing went great. Shawn did everything in his power to get me back on his calendar when the time(s) came. And I was really impressed, and not just a little grateful for  his attitude while he did so.

Frankly, I had lined up an extra area of storage where my temporary home is, but when all was said and done, only my personal stuff and a few boxes of canned food went to that extra space. Considering the size of the truck and the size of the storage unit, the former being larger than the latter, I originally had doubts. But they made it work! They arrived at the storage unit, and frankly I didn't think it would fit in there! But it did. He did, however recommend I get a professional mover to un- stack and un-pack, as the items were in there snuggly and placed with precision I can only compare to a jigsaw puzzle! I watched the whole thing, and communication was excellent between the men, and since I did observe and I did listen, I had far fewer worries than I ever thought possible.

I am impressed with the whole team. They treated me very well and understood from experience the fears movees have about this sort of thing.  I really felt good about the move, for the first time really, as the reasons for moving were not the best. But with The Specialists team, it was sort of like having brothers and sisters helping me, people who cared about me. Of course they cared about my stuff, that's their job. I felt that the team was a family (they are) and on those days they worked for me, I was a part of their family too. I'd hire them again in a second!

PS: I also found out that his wife, Deena, offers moving-out house cleaning services,among other sorts of cleaning, which I booked in a second. No regrets at all! I have also recommended her  to my friend and neighbor who is planning a thin-out and re-orgainize sort of project in the near future.

4 Watere Street

This was a special 1/2 price Angie's list deal.  I saw another review on them where they had moved some heavy furniture, so decided to go ahead and buy the deal.  I'm sure glad I did!  Shawn was awesome.  He responded quickly to my email and set up a date convenient for us both.  Shawn and his assistant arrived on time and got right to work.  They moved lots of furniture that had been temporarily stored in my garage while flooring was being installed into the house and placed it where I wanted it.  They took care to protect my new floors by using pads under their handcart or lifting the furniture into place.  They also moved other furniture that had been packed into living and dining rooms into the proper rooms.  They were very careful and did not damage anything -- walls, floors or furniture.  And I had lots of heavy items, plus some fragile pieces. Also, I would like to note that they were clean cut, very nice, professional and had quiet confidence and knowledge about what they were doing, plus had all the necessary equipment needed to do the job right.  I would definitely hire them again.

Two gentlemen showed up to help unload and move our 24 ft truck full of furniture and household appliances along with several boxes. They were available within 48 hours notice. Showed up on time and with their own equipment. They spent extra time to lay down plastic so that mud and dirt didn't get tracked into the house. They padded their two wheel dollies so that nothing got scratched. Extra care was taken not to scratch or dent walls or doors. Every time something was discovered to have damage they immediately pointed it out. Both were clean cut, properly dressed, and spoke well. Very courteous and diligent in their duties. At no time did i see either mover slow down or sand bag on the job. Each took great care to make sure each box or item was well placed in their respective areas such as kitchen items in the kitchen, bedroom items in the bedroom, etc. In the end nothing was dropped, nicked, dented or damaged in anyway. Wish we could have used them to load the truck initially as I am confident much of the damage incurred could have been prevented. My wife and I could not be more pleased or sing any higher praise upon a vendor.
