About us

There are few pleasures in life more satisfying to me than a hike along a stream in the forest. So much to see and learn. When I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1972, I had years of classroom experience in Design, plant materials, and environmental studies, but it was a pittance compared to a Northwest woodland. I did a 3 year stint with a very progressive landscape design firm back east that specialized in those “out-of-the-box” projects that formed a lot of the basis for my approach to landscape. By 1980, it was time to see where this was all leading, so Ron Miner Landscape Design and Construction was formed. Let’s face it, it was a pretty meager beginning. As time passed, the projects became more involved and challenging. But the connection to the natural world still drove my thinking, as it does today.

Everything went well.  I gave him my designs.  He designed a rock wall for us.  He was very good at communicating and suggested a few changes to make things better.

There were some difficulties putting in the pond, but he was very good at solving the problems. He got what I wanted done and it wasn?t easy, so I really appreciated his work. I spent $3,000 on that work.

RON WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT I WANTED, DUE TO THE LIMITED ACCESS TO THE BACKYARD WHERE I WANTED THE WATER FEATURE, HE WAS LIMITED TO A FORK LIFT AND, EVEN THEN, HAD TO LET THE AIR OUT OF ONE OF THE TIRES TO GET IT IN. THE MAIN ROCK THAT HAD TO BE MOVED TO USE FOR THE WATERFALL WAS EXTREMELY LARGE AND TOOK A LOT OF INGENUITY AND EFFORT TO ACCOMPLISH, BUT THEY MANAGED TO GET IT DONE. THE JOB TOOK A LITTLE WHILE (TWO WEEKS) BECAUSE HE IS IN SUCH DEMAND THAT HE FIT MINE IN AS TIME PERMITTED, BUT SINCE I HAD BEEN WAITING FOUR YEARS TO HAVE THIS DONE, I WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO WAIT. IT REALLY LOOKS GREAT.
