Keizer Veterinary Clinic

The person who calls herself the "practice manager" named Kim is perhaps the most rude and unprofessional person to deal with. She is extremely defensive and I believe the vets cannot possibly know how she treats client or she would be fired. Unfortunately to try to talk with one of the vets about our issues, she is able to block the calls and not refer our calls to the vets. The latest issue, she informed me that the doctors did not want to talk with us--that she was to do all the communications. I don't believe this. Interesting, at the bottom of their stationary they state: "We consider your pet's health our first concern." Obviously this is not true. We are pursuing legal help for "slander". Unfortunately she put her statements in writing rather than only verbal--not knowing the line between libel and slander.

They try very hard and they are caring. They treat you very good, like a friend, like you are a family member and your pet is included. We are all family member, my vet gives me his home phone number.

Friendly and very professional. Answered all my questions. Took time to get squinted with me and my dog. They get an A+ plus 5 gold stars!

She is now doing fine after taking her medicine. We will return to Keizer Veterinary when we need more services.

We have used them since we moved here, and we trust them. We used them once to board our cats. It is expensive.

I've been going to Keizer vet clinic dince Dr. Orlando was last there (2008) and eventually started seeing Dr. Girouard mostly for my llittle paraplegic Shih Tzu. I'd adopted her when she was three as her Mom couldn't care for her. She was my second paraplegic Shih Tzu and needed a lot of care, especially for recurring bladder infections. I'd only seen Dr. Erion a couple of times and tended to aviod him for Molly as he was unable to catheterize her. This time Dr. G was gone for an extended period when I had to take her in. She is normally a very happy little dog with a great appetite and a big heart, in spite of her ailments.

When Dr. Erion came in the room and I explained Molly's problem, he literally snarled at me - and quot;for God's sake, she's seventeen years old!and quot; He then refused to examine her or even order any tests. Instead he told me to take her off all her meds, including her cancer therapy drugs which had been working well for two years. He wanted me to talk to Dr. G about it when he returned and indicated he felt she was being overmedicated. He spent about 3 or 4 minutes in the room with us, made some entries on the computer, then left, after making another disparaging comment about the 95% lean meat I bought for her. I was stunned. I am old and ill too, and was wondering if maybe he felt we should both be put down.
When I looked at my bill, I discovered I'd been nicked for a Level 4 Exam ($60.00) for the office visit. Less than 5 minutes. Interestingly enough, when I took my little dog to another vet it turned our she had not only a urinary tract infection but tapeworms as well. This is no way to treat an old, sick dog. Or the owner. By-the-way, those cancer drugs seemed to have worked wonders as her white cell count now was almost normal.
Sadly, I've transferred all of my pets to this other office. I wanted to discuss this with Dr. G, but he never returned my phone call. It seems I had worn out my welcome there. I've never run into anything like this before and I'm still licking my wounds over it. I had been laboring under the belief veterinarians were there to care for our animals and have never questioned a recommended procedure nor failed to take one of them in when I felt they needed to be seen. I always try to be pleasant and upbeat and my bill was paid before I left. This was a real eye-opener for me and feel others need to know what happened to me there. It just wasn't right.

They love animals and they are easily available.

I have been using this vet for 6 years for all my cats. I love that they use these baskets for the cats to snuggle into when they come in for an exam. It really helps the animal feel safer and secure. They don't just treat the animal medically. It's like they really understand how it is to go to the vet from the cat's point of view and try to make it less scary for the animal. The vet tech's always talk so sweet to the cats when they come into the room to take the cat to get weighed and toenails clipped and everyone picks up the animals and snuggles them. Its not just a business - they all really love animals.



They really work to prevent illness, not just treat an animal after it is sick. They are working with me to reduce weight for my 20 pound cat and gave me suggestions about things I could do to modify my home environment so that my oldest cat's arthritis doesn't bother her as much. My tom cat was really sick with a urinary tract infection and they pulled him through just fine. They recommended special cat food so that he doesn't have this problem again.

Excellent clinic and staff.

Annual check - up and vaccinations. Have used them for years and I love them.

Check ups every 6 weeks keeps thing under control.

They are very good and very caring. They understand how important your animal is to you. They are very thorough and knowledgeable. They are pleasant. Their staff is very nice. Their prices are reasonable.

They are wonderful. The staff is wonderful and they're good people. Three years ago one of our dogs had a problem with his ankle and he had to have surgery. They were very good with him. They made sure he was comfortable and they knew I was a nervous mother. They gave him his pain medication and it went just fine. All the dogs were neutered there. Another dog got pneumonia when he was a puppy and he almost died but they brought him back. They know there stuff. They get an A+ in everything.

I don't think their price is reasonable but no vet is reasonable. They are comparable. They were very competent and they have 3 vets on staff. There is always someone available whenever we needed them. We have never had a problem with them. They have an emergency clinic for the nights and Sundays because they are open part of the day on Saturday.

I provided medical diet food for one of them and they fed him that. I would recommend them. They seem to care about the animals and if they get sick they are ideally equipped to deal with them. There are limited options for cat boarding around here. It is $12.95 per day.

Outstanding in all respects. We especially appreciate followup callsthey initiate after treatments (people doctors could learn from this) and personal notes from doctors and staff when a pet dies.

They care about our pets and do a great job with the general care, and several times have quickly taken care of urgent or special needs of our pets. Our cat in particular needed special care because she had a lot of issues she was born with (bone issues, kidney issues, eye issues), and they helped her live many years past our expectations and she was happy for those years.

The exam was done thoroughly and competently. Her vaccinations were done in a very professional manner. Her nails were cut and she was weighed. The Doctors and their staff are all very, very good at their jobs. They have a wonderful affinity for the animals they treat. They are thoughtful and considerate towards their human clients as well. I recommend them to all my friends who are in need of a vet. We have been going to this clinic for many, many years
