Fairly well. Joe came out, after contacting by phone, looked at the job, then went home to give me two estimates I asked for, holes only, and holes and posts set. After a few days, he called and gave me the a bid. I had waited for another contractor to bid the job, which he did on the 18th. I decided to try Joe. I had Joe come out and give me a contract to sign before commencing work. He didn't fail. He came when he said he would, and worked with his helpers. They made short work of the job, finishing up in less than two days. He dug the holes with a post hole digger, no power auger! Because this was a job in the middle of a lot, and I mean a LOT of chainsawed Arbor Vitae, he was going to hit roots. There wasn't a lot, but he did hit a few. My only small nit was that I am used to dealing with people via email, with contracts sent via PDF or such. I was surprised no email was offered. Value received though.. The posts supplied look like very good grade, only one was MAYBE 2nd.. I stained them and they look great! Yup.. he did a good job. Fence posts solid and very straight.

Joe responded promptly to initial call, gave a prompt estimate, and was able to complete the job within 2-3 weeks of initial contact.  Joe and his sons were able to complete the job in one day.

It went very well.  In fact, the weather was so poor, I was surprised at how he was able to finish it in the time frame he did.  As I said it was a very complicated area.  He was putting up a fence in an area covered in brush and trees which had been fenced with field fencing.  The area covered was approximately 90 feet.    Along with his nephew, he devised creative ways to fence without having to take any trees down or prune any as I wanted them all saved.

The initial meeting went well.  Joe took down the details, seemed knowledgeable, and gave  a ballpark price.  He said he would call in a week with the final numbers.  We waited a week or so but didn't hear back from him.  After multiple calls and messages, 3 or 4, we finally heard back from him.  He gave me a price over the phone that sounded too good to be true, much lower than we expected.  I asked for him to drop off or send me his written job description and price.  He said he would drop it off the next day.
Once again we waited, and then I made a phone call and left a message.  It is almost 2 months later and we have still never heard a word from him, or received his written estimate.  I didn't bother to continue calling because I lost confidence in his ability to communicate with his client, and to follow through on his commitments.
We are following through with the job with another contractor, at almost twice the price which we find reasonable and are happy to pay.

We needed a fence, a post and 2 gates installed so our dog wouldn't be able to get out of the yard. In order to install the fence Joe needed to cut down some trees.  He did an outstanding job and completed the task a day early and cleaned up the mess.  Our dog enjoyed her new yard and we didn't have worry that she could get out.  The price was less than we anticipated and there were no hidden or additional charges.

I had approximately 3 posts that had rotted and not properly put in by the original persons who built the fence.  Joe came out with a worker and replaced 3 posts placed at a proper depth and cemented in and replaced the boards.  A fourth post was a gate post improperly placed by the original builder and was removed and replaced by Joe and cemented in and is sturdy after the cement set.  I am very pleased with the work done.

Joe's response was timely, he came to assess the damage, made suggestions for the repair, all done within a day.  Joe saved me replacing any fencing that was not in need of repair as only a section of my fence was blown down.  My fence is now back and in solid shape by a major post being replaced and all done timely. He was courteous, prompt and worked quickly to get my fence back up and properly repaired.

This was a large job and Joe provided exactly the service I requested in a timely manner. I had a tight timeframe for job completion and Joe provided the required service to meet it. Every detail was completed as requested. The finished fence looks great and provides the secure enclosure intended. I recommend a written work proposal including all agreed-upon job elements to ensure everyone is on the same page before work begins with this vendor. I had to refer back to my own written notes to remind Joe what we agreed upon verbally concerning details promised and price agreed upon. That said, all work performed and payments made were as per finished written contract. I will use Joe Construction again.

A windstorm knocked down part of my fence around Christmas. I called several places to get estimates for the repair. It was a crazy time and many businesses were closed the week between Christmas and New Years. Joe was one of the first people to return my call. He came out to give me an estimate on the same day he said he would. He was friendly, offered me a discount when he found out I was a single mother, was open to my suggestion of only patching up the broken parts and making the old fence last another Summer or two and offered to bring over some extra fencing to patch up some other holes in the fence.
I really liked Joe's manner. When he called me back to give me the price, he offered to come over that weekend and have it done within a few days. I wanted to research and receive some more quotes.
Most of the quotes were several hundred dollars more. One was comprable and one was several hundred less expensive. I chose Joe because I liked him, I trusted him and he was the only one that gave me a time frame for fixing it.
I called Joe back and he offered to come out the following weekend after another job to sign the contract and get started.
Joe continued to impress when he showed up the following Saturday with a helper and fixed the fence that day!
I was so impressed that I hired him to build me a picket fence for my front yard.

We are so happy with our dog run area.  The fencing was put in so that the dogs cannot escape and it looks awesome.  We are going to have Joe come back and fence the rest of our property.

Joe came over and gave me a bid. We settled on a price and he was out to start the work the night after he got our deposit. In two nights he got all the posts set and then finished the rest of the fence in one day. We told him that we needed the fence fast and Joe delivered!

Joe jumped right in and did an outstanding job of getting the deck started.  He dig holes for the piers, helped set the beams and joists, and gave me a great tip in installing the decking.

Joe came over, looked at it, gave a bid. The next night he came over and dug the holes, being careful to avoid a sprinkler line that I showed him. That night it was close to freezing (20 degrees overnight) and yet he go the job done. The night after that he finished up. That's it! No fuss or bother, all work done very neatly and with pleasant personality. Joe had an assistant. I provided the wood, which is why the cost was so low.
I would definitely use him again.

He completed the job yesterday. We were quite pleased with him; he was very meticulous in his measuring and making sure that everything was cleared and straight and things like that. He got materials that were good and his work was great. He completed his job within a day or so of when he said he would. The first job, the awning, was right on the mark. The second he had a couple of things that were uncontrollable by him and so it was a day or so later when it actually got completed. He was very good in meeting deadlines and very good in doing things as we requested. He did a very nice job. Both the deck and the awning turned out very well. We changed our deck material at the last minute but he still came in on target for our completion day. He was very good about getting back to us. He was on time for appointments he made with us. If he was not going to be on time he would call us when he expected to arrive.

Joe was quick to respond and came in with, by far, the lowest bid for the job. After hiring him he came out the following week and did a very good job of removing the old fence and put in new four by four's, in concrete, then on the following day finished the job. The fence looks great and while he was here he was happy to talk about any concerns. He was a total professional at all times and I would state that you wouldn't go wrong using Joe for anything.

It went pretty well. The main thing was they came up with an idea for the gate that worked because there were some obstacles to put in a gate the way I wanted. They did a good job of coming up with the idea for it. It wasn't real expensive but it was just a gate. They didn't always show up exactly when they said they were going to but they were good. They would call later and say they were going to be late and they were a little tardy at times and that made for a bit of a headache for my scheduling but other than that they were good. The quality was good. I would probably not use them just because I found some other places that I would call.

Working with Joe was an excellent experience. He was on time when we called for a bid and returned the bid to us within a week. He had competitive pricing and he started work on the weekend. He came out in the evenings and was finished in a week. Our fence is everything we requested and we look forward to having Joe help with some other projects we have coming up in the future. If you want quality work completed by a local business call Joe Taylor Construction.

While digging a post hole for the gate, Joe broke a sprinkler line. It was obvious, He poured cement down the hole on top of the broken PVC and never told me that the line had been broken. Now I have to pay to have the system repaired.

Set posts in concrete, everything is level and even. Did an outstanding job on my gate, providing me w dual locking system, which was above my request. Joe works hard and quickly. Cleans up. Is friendly and works w customer's requests. Stayed within contract guidelines. I would definitely hire Joe again.

Very professional job at a competitive price with other fence vendors in the area. Joe is sometimes hard to contact and seems to have a pretty full job schedule, but his work and pricing are worth it.

I wanted green so it took a while for the special order to arrive. That was the only delay. The crew did the work while we were gone camping and we came home to great results. We had a family member here while the work was done and there were no problems. Our dogs love having their own space and so do we!

As soon as the contract was signed Joe asked for 3,463.00 so he could purchase the materials. I was reluctant but I gave him the money. The next day (16th) Joe showed up for work which I was not expecting. He tore down all the cyclone wire in the backyard but left the poles. And then had to leave and said he would be back later in the day, which he never did. The next day at noon I received a text from him saying he would not be there. The following day he came with his son and tore down the some of wood fencing and hauled it away, later that day he returned and started working on the stone wall. On the 19th his nephew and son came to work with him. Joe’s nephew built the stone (cinder block) wall (which he did a great job on). On the 20th everyone showed up again and worked but Joe was not cutting out the posts for the cyclone fence and started putting posts in for the wood fence so my husband had to cut them out. By the way all the cyclone fencing material was still piled in the back alley as well as a pile of wood fencing in my driveway. Also when Joe was digging the new fence post holes he kept piling the dirt in my neighbors yard, actually they kept using my neighbors yard and parking space as their work shop (my neighbors were in the process of moving). I told him several times that is not my yard and not do that. Then it was discovered that by my other neighbors fence there was a brick work that was under the flower beds so Joe said he was going to put the fence one foot in (on my side of the yard). So the morning of the 21st my husband and I dug out the bricking and rented a roto hammer to break it out so our fence could be placed in the correct place. When Joe and his son showed up later that day Joe complained about it! Then he tried to get us to leave him the roto hammer (at our cost) for the day. We had to leave for a birthday party (Joe knew this) but still came up to my husband and asked him to break out some concrete because he was busy…. I told Joe no - we had to leave but he could use our rental tool that we were returning in the next hour. When we returned later in the evening I found our hose running in the neighbors yard, it looked like he washed out his concrete wheelbarrow in their grass. The next week Joe would show up for an hour or two each day - mind you we still don’t have all the fencing up in our backyard yet. Joe told me that the fence would be completed the coming weekend. On the 25th Joe approached me and asked for 1000.00 because he needed to pay his bills on the first of the month - there was only a 2000.00 balance owed and I haven’t seen all the building materials yet. Heck my backyard was still open. I told Joe that I would pay him as agreed when he completed the job. At this time he had some of the fencing up which was NOT picture frame style. By this time I was so stressed with his work ethics I just wanted him done and off my property. I seriously considered hiring another fencer to finish the job but feared a lean being placed on my property. This is just a sample of what I had to endure. Joe finally completed the job on May 4th, after I told him that he did not need to finish two small fence sections, and after my husband (again) helped him on the last day.
Unfortunately Joe took so long on my job it conflicted with the other work being done on my house. The other contractor tried to stay out of Joe’s way as much as they could.
When Joe showed up he never worked more than 3 hours, unless his son was working with him (then it was a full day) or my husband worked with him. Joe never hauled away the old fencing (other than the intial load), we had to, Joe left his tools and/or extension cords laying out in my yard the entire time, he would not stay out of my neighbors property. My husband and I had to work multiples hours / days completing Joe’s work and/or cleaning up his messes. At the end I did not get a picture frame fence, in fact the top cap on my “solid” fence is not even cedar, his nail pattern is very poor (some boards have 6 nails while others only have 3) and is wavey. We need to tear down the front gate he made because it is not 4 feet wide (is too narrow) and very ugly. This was one of the worst experiences I had and it was NOT worth the little we saved in the long run!
If by any chance you decide to use Joe Taylor’s Construction make sure EVERYTHING is spelled out in his vague contract - I did not . Save yourself (especially if you are a woman - he told my husband that evidently he has problems working with woman) and work with a contractor that is professional !!!!

I found this a positive experience. Joe Taylor is a hard worker, pleasant to work with, and followed a timeline as indicated. He made suggestions about what I could do in my yard to ensure it was fenced the way I wanted it. He began by giving me an estimate which was comparable to another estimate I already had. I appreciate that he was responsive to phone calls and requests to work at specific hours -- and got the job done in the time-frame he had estimated. I am enjoying the end results of the fencing he did for me. It makes my yard look so much better. During our conversations, I learned that Joe does other house and yard work -- and I plan on using him again to do some other odd jobs that I need done.
