If you have an oil system, you need to take your business to Jeff Carlson at Jefferson Heating! I was referred to Jeff by another outfit after their technician expressed a lack of confidence in being able to complete repairs / maintenance on our oil fired hot water heating system. I wish they'd have given me the referral from the very beginning, would have saved a lot of time.
Jeff came out on a Saturday because we'd been out our hot water for 3 days due to a plugged chimney situation. After the exhaust was power vacuumed per Jeff's recommendation, he serviced the boiler system and identified that the previous technician had installed a close but inappropriate electrical part in the ignition mechanism. This wrong part was causing intermittent ignition of the nozzle (probably because that's what the guy had in his truck) and excessive soot accumulation. Jeff had all the correct parts, and tested the work of the power vac contractor (deemed it adequate but check it monthly). He educated us on how better to maintain the system. Best of all he charged half what the other outfit charged for the job they walked away from.
Updating review on 12/3/2015 as Angies List format has changed a bit. Boiler is still working great.
