Evon listened to my description of the problem. He asked a few questions and believed it was the brakes. He told me he would check all brakes, evaluate rotors to see if the required work. He told me he would not touch rotors if not necessary. Turned out my front pads were worn down but rotors were fine. He thought the rear brakes would be fine for another 30,000 miles. He saw me right away and serviced the car quickly. Although my first time, I felt like I've found my mechanic in town. I felt like he could be trusted to provide the necessary services.

Evon at Japanese Auto has been my mechanic for 10 years on 4 different cars. He's honest, pleasant, hard working, and reasonably priced. He knows his stuff, and doesn't mind explaining whats going on. I'll continue to give him my business as long as I have a car he's willing to work on.

That the car's brakes had to be services was a given. The only question was whether the pads and rotors had been left in compromised condition too long that the calipers would also need to be replaced. The owner/operator, who is quite the colorful character, made every effort to keep the cost as low as possible. He discovered an issue with one of the calipers, but after a bit of adjusting, the caliper popped open and operated normally. I also described an issue with the windshield wipers and he readily gave me advice on how to fix it myself.

Evon has kept it going for many years, as he has our other Toyotas. He is honest, friendly, and responsive. We have gone to JAS for over twenty years, and never regretted it.

Auto Service, Auto Inspections
We have used this service for our 1980 Honda Accord that my son is driving while attending college in Oregon. We are from Alaska so it is great to have someone we can trust to do the right thing and perform quality work. We have been going there for two and one half years now since discovering them through this service.

Excellent. Have kept my 78 Toyota pick-up going in style. Have found hard to get parts and followed up on work. Price is always fair.

I was very pleased with the work they did. Real knowledgeable and cost conscious. He was certain that what I needed to do was get back on the road. The car is on the older side so I'm up against some fairly major service items timing changes. Its going to be a fairly costly repair and we discussed some options about keeping the cost handle-able and I really appreciate that attitude. It took a couple of days but I wasn't too put off by that. He had repair jobs ahead of me.

Very knowlegable about the cars we took there. Didn't charge for a couple that he deemed not worth the inspection. Funny guy. Bit rough around the edges, but he knows his stuff!

I stopped by the shop to discuss the problem and make an appointment. The owner is a little rough around the edges but he is very straightforward. He was able to get me in the next business day. The work was done on time and was less expensive than I expected.

The shop gave me a rough estimate over the phone, and I was happy to discover that the final price came in well under the estimate. The person I worked with was very friendly and very accommodating to my schedule for drop-off and pick-up. He never pressured me to have more work done than was needed - in fact, he reported that my other (non-drive) belts were in good shape and did not need to be replaced. He also performed some legwork by tracking down the price of a random car part that I eventually elected not to replace. I am extremely pleased with the quality and integrity of the service, and I would not hesitate to use this shop again.

He is very up front and he always tells me exactly what he is thinking, and what is wrong with the vehicle. One of the reasons and I like him and keep going back is that out of the five or six times I have been in he has only charged me once. He never charges me for headlight replacements, spending all day diagnosing a problem and making small adjustments, so I do not have a problem paying for the big services. I have a Japanese vehicle, my husband has a German vehicle and he is often willing to talk with us on the phone when we have weird little problems. He has looked at both vehicles a few times and he is always honest about when he cannot repair a vehicle, because he does not know about. Even if it is a vehicle that he has not worked on he will offer suggestions based on other vehicles that he has worked with. He is not the most professional person, but it is just what I want in a mechanic.

I came to this company on the recommendation of the "Click and Clack, The Tappet Brothers" website. I was not disappointed other then to be in a bit of stick shock at how much automotive work costs these days (I usually do most of it myself). Evon, one of the owners and whom I dealt with, was friendly and very knowledgeable about my '05 Toyota 4WD Tacoma. The work came in under estimate by a few dollars. A problem later developed with one of the spark wires (actually the plastic tower which fits on top of the plug) which cause the spark ro jump on to the cylinder head and make the motor miss badly. His original thought was a broken spark plug and so he changed it out and gave the truck back to me, but that turned out not to be the problem, which required another overnight stay at the shop. Once the problem was isolated he charged me for the part but not the additional labor, saying that he doesn't change his customers for a mis-diagnosis! (WHAT???) Anyway, this shop has my continuing business for both my Japanese vehicles.

Everything that he does is guaranteed. He is just awesome. He owns the business. He will be honest with you and tell you if the vehicle is not worth putting a certain repair into. I have gone there for 15 years on and off. He only works on imported cars.

We've been using them for years. Their prices are good and less than we expected. The service is consistently good. And they are always available on short notice.
