The guys were responsive and hard working. They were polite and very flexible in doing whatever we asked. The bid was based upon a rather vague set of plans, but they held to their pricing even with the added difficulty and error fixing necessary when plans are not clear. During the pour forming, Larry Fisher (one of Harvey's sons) noticed the foundation was not in the right place. We were able to correct without any lost time or cost, and these guys continued to watch our backs like this and point out possible pitfalls. They were very fast in getting the walls and roof framed and there were few errors in this process. We were heavily involved in the GC role, and caused some miscommunication due to our lack of understanding of how things get done, but the crew handled it in stride and made things right when we caused them grief. They even took on added work without complaint. I think this is a great crew if you need rough framing done quickly. I would not have them install high end finishes, sexy windows or finicky equipment. They have trouble reading and following direction if they feel it is not necessary. For example, we asked them to wrap the house and keep it weather tight while installing the wood windows. They proceeded to cut holes and install in an order that left windows vulnerable to water coming in from the November/December rains. They left window openings uncovered while having the wood windows below already installed. They also left a wood door outside for the weekend and we had to cover it so it didn't get rained on. When we asked to have these things remedied, they did so gladly, but weren't proactive when something like this needed to be done. However, they worked fast, the walls and layout are flawless, and the structure is VERY solid. I sighted the walls to get a feel for the difficulty the drywallers would face from warped studs and mis-aligned walls. To my surprise, I could see NO issue with the framing. Under the leadership of Harvey Fisher, his sons Larry and Allen (and their sons) made our project happen for a price we could handle, and were very flexible with us as newbies managing the work. To Harvey's credit, the guys are polite, professional, they clean up at the end of the job (but not much during the job) and treat each other and their clients with respect. Harvey called almost every night after work to communicate plans, issues, etc. I was very happy to have this type of close interaction. One issue we had was with running out of materials. The guys generally ordered their day to day supplies, but I also did much of the ordering. In the future, I suggest meeting daily to establish order schedules several days in advance of actual need. We had a few days where the guys couldn't do anything until material was delivered. It wasn't a lot, but it happened enough to be an issue. We would certainly use these guys again and I recommend them without hesitation.
Description of Work: The project was a massive remodel of our existing 2200 sq ft home. Most of the demo was done by my wife, myself and a few friends, but Harvey and his crew showed up to help with the more technical aspects of bracing and helped remove windows. The foundation crew poured the foundation while Harvey and crew did all the framing, sheeting, structural tie down bracing, papered the house and installed windows and doors on our new 5000 sq ft home. The guys even framed up a large deck that was necessary to reach some of the higher portions of the project and to support an overhanging roof. They framed in every aspect of the project (inside and out), hung doors, installed wood windows (with some difficulty), and helped paper the outside.
