I liked that Mark Sanders runs his own company, owns a CCB number even though he's not required to, and does his own work. I've hired other contractors for projects that never required them to work more than a foot above the ground, but who'd bring one or two "assistants" who I'm betting were actually "trainees"--and then charged me for their time. Mark rousted his own pressure washer, ladders and hoses, took his 30 years of experience up on my roof, and finished in less than three hours.
Mark showed up on time both to preview the roof to give me an estimate and to do the actual work. He stuck to his price. (I gave him a "B" grade on price because I'm not sure I got the 10 percent senior discount. My bad. I should have asked.) But I'm not going to quibble about $49. There's no way I'd have climbed up there, right on the edge of space, and done what he did as quickly and professionally as he did.
I appreciated him cleaning up afterward. The moss and other debris that came off the roof went everywhere and stuck to things because it was wet. He blew it off the sides of the house, raked what was on the ground and dumped it into the field where it could decompose. By the time he left, the only sign that he was here were a few stray clumps of damp moss in the gravel driveway. That, and a roof that looks as good as new.

Mark's son preformed the work which went extremely well.  We were more than happy with the results.  All moss & fir needles were removed & area was cleaned up after.  We will be setting up a fall/spring maintenance program.  The price was very good for the amount of time & effort spent.

Mark was very professional and there was no doubt he is an asset to his trade. This was not a DIY project. Shake roofs on a house with lots of trees is a big job and he made it look great. I even had a hanging flower pot I couldn't take down because of a mama bird with four eggs soon to hatch was present. When I came home that night she was still on her nest like nothing disturbed her of which I appreciated. I plan on using this service every six months through a service plan to help maintain my roof longer with this company. Maintence was qoted at $268 and he told me as long as I continue to use him he would never raise my rate.

He put sealant gel around the leak. He lied that he cleaned the roof off to the contractors board. I contacted the contractors board but ended up not going to court. I wrote a letter to him asking to get back least half of the money and I never heard from him. I was in the middle of a move(had two weeks to get out of the house) and found the first guy I could get to repair my roof.

We got three estimates to have our roof cleaned. We moved in recently and there was thick moss and leaves on the tile roof. Mark's estimate was the lowest and he also said that he has been doing this for over 20 years and knows how to walk on tile roofs. The other companies were going to send out crews of young workers who all said they wouldn't walk on the roof. He does all the work by himself. Luckily Mark found a crack in a tile on the top. I had just recently heard something dripping. He was able to seal it and didn't charge extra for it. He cleaned the roof thoroughly so it looked like new. He also does yearly maintenance of the roof for $150.00. The cleaning made a huge mess and he cleaned it up perfectly. I would highly reccomend him. Some of the other roofing companies have crews of young guys who are inexperienced so they say it will take 2 days etc., and then charge a fortune. He cleaned ours in less than a day and charged hundreds less.

My first phone call to First Aid reach the owner while driving. He called me back later, and we discussed the job, cost, and address. He told me he would arrive at 9am on the 16h.

When he hadn't arrived by 9:30 am, I called him to reconfirm the date and time. He told me he had made a stop on his way and would arrive circa 9:45. He did. He promptly completed the job, adding an emulsion that would prevent moss growth for three years.

We discussed the job and he recommended that we call him if moss became a problem later. He also commented that the new architectural roof was professionally done and asked twice who had done the job. I couldn't remember because it was done several years earlier.

I have him a check for payment, and he left.

Warning: This firm means well, but in my case, the company didn't communicate the their time schedule well. When I'm told a service man will arrive at a certain time, I assume he or she will arrive within about five minutes of that time. Being told that the serviceman had a stop or two before arriving for our 9am appointment would have been acceptable. But he didn't do that. I had no idea whether he was just late or whether the appointment had been forgotten.

We had a flat section on our otherwise very angled roof, where, over time, significant moss had developed. In strong wind and rain, in addition to standing water on the flat area, a leak had begun to develop. Mark came out within 24 hours of my initial phone call to look at it and give an estimate. He noticed that in addition to the serious moss problems, the flashing had not been done correctly on the edge of the roof in this area. He gave an estimate of $260 to remove all the moss in the 8' x 4' area by hand (a large, large amount), add more three-tab asphalt composition roofing to the area complete with metal shims and sealing, etc, in case the significant moss damage had compromised the old roofing, and add flashing to the edge of the roof where it was missing. He came back later that day, as promised, and did all the work exactly as specified. The end result is fantastic and totally professional, and we couldn't be more happy with the results and response time, especially for what we consider a very fair price. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again, and, in fact, we plan on having him come out int he spring and do moss removal and cleaning of our entire roof.

The process was perfect. From the moment we called to have them give us an estimate to the finished product we couldn't be more satisfied. They arrived on time, explained the process fully and if there was to be a time delay we were notified in advance. We were never left wondering.

They responded within one day to schedule our roof project. We needed the roof and gutters cleaned off a 5200 sq ft home and detached double garage. They also recommended putting a product on the areas of the roof with northern exposure to prevent future moss accumulation. They arrived promptly at 9:00 when they said they would. Did an excellent job and did a thorough job cleaning up the ground around the house after finishing roof, even blew off driveway!
