Doyle L Allies Construction

Our roof needed cleaning -- not horrible, but Willamette Valley mossy and needle strewn.
Doyle worked on our neighbor's roof.  His work looked good enough to ask the neighbor for his contact information.
Doyle Allies Construction is not specifically a roofing company so we also contacted two roof contractors, both on Angie's List.
One was too busy, the other, King and King, bid the job, as did Doyle.  Both companies were prompt to bid.
The bid spread between Doyle and King and King was about $300.  ($450 for Allies, $775 for King and King.)
Because of their reputation we choose King and King -- good reputation, roof specific contractor. 

When King and King couldn't follow through with the work (I will evaluate this separately) we asked Doyle to do the job.
We set the work dates.  Doyle was able to start the 2 day job within a couple of day but it meant splitting the two days work over a week's time.
It took him a day longer than what King and King bid because he works alone and King and King sends out a crew.  We decided that two days was worth the $300 saving.

Doyle showed up reasonably promptly both days -- not on the dot, but within an hour of the scheduled time.
We were originally concerned with his lower bid.  But his work was thorough and professional. 
We added a shed roof mid-job.  He included it for a low amount.  It turned out to be a little stinker.  He never complained and did the work at the agreed price.
We like the fact that he Windexed our 5 sky-lights.  We can actually see through them again!
He left the property reasonably clean.  There was some gutter debris in the flower beds, causing me to rate that as a "B" rather than an "A."
All-in-all he did a thorough, good job.  Our roof and gutters look good.  We will consider him for other house maintenance work.
