Description of Work: At my initial meeting with the owner/operator of the Clock Specialist, I was informed if I was looking for a 'quick fix" repair, he did not provide such service. This was positive for he not only repaired one item but also kept the clock for another 7-10 days to insure the clock was working as designed. During this test period, he located another issue which required an additional repair at no additional cost. Professional & Quality orientated service.

Description of Work: We have an old, key wind wall clock that hadn't been serviced in many years. We took it into the Clock Specialist and they were able to do the service. They are the only clock repair shop in Salem, so the wait times reflect that, but the folks who run the shop are really nice to deal with. Price was very fair.

 + -1 moreUpdate Jan 2015. My grandfather clock has been wonderful since it was repaired last year. There have been no further problems.
Description of Work: He repaired my grandfather clock. After he repaired it the first time, the same thing broke. He came back. He did not charge us labor the second time. Said he had never seen this happen before.He said if it happens again, he won't charge us at all. He did really good work, and I would use his services again. I would feel comfortable recommending his services.

 + 0 moreHe's been a clock maker for over 30 years and my wife used him for 20 years. It is a fairly rare place because he works on his own. He is probably not more than 58 years old. He even says that sometimes the clocks aren't worth what he has to charge to fix them. My two clocks are probably worth $1,500 so they are worth doing. He repairs a lot of big old clocks and some watches. He repairs things right and well. He shares an office with an insurance agent. It is not cheap but he gives me a fair price and he explains what he is doing. I can trust my clocks being on good hands. His service is excellent. He charged $250 to take a clock apart and clean it. The prices are significant. I would only take my clocks to him.
Description of Work: I am using Clock Specialist for clock repair on some old rare clocks. My wife used to take them in about every 5 years. I took in 2 clocks in May and he cleaned and repaired one clock and he is waiting on a new motor for the other clock.
