I found Cascade Paving at the Remodeling Show last month and had them give a 2nd bid on patio paving for a rental house. The first guy to bid arrived in a BMW SUV and laid on a heavy-duty sales pitch, complete with phony 'discounts'. Troy, on the other hand, was a complete straight shooter whose bid was literally half the price ($8) of the high-pressure outfit ($16 after 'discounts') per square foot. I was a little nervous because Cascade Paving has no Angieslist reviews, but I trusted Troy and went ahead. I could not be more pleased. The job went like clockwork in rotten weather, and his crew were hard-working, showed initiative, communicated well, and did everything according to best practice in regards to depth of gravel, compacting the base, edging, cutting the stones cleanly. Troy was in touch throughout the process. Everything looks wonderful and I'll never have to weed that backyard again! But above all, Troy and his crew did the extra little things at their own initiative that solved several messy little problems I would have been hard-pressed to untangle. They took care of adjusting the downspouts which would have poured onto the new patio; they rebuilt the drain pipe and the catch basin, at Troy's suggestion; they dug up the stump and only charged me $100 extra. And on top of it, they will be coming back to remove the huge pile of dirt I thought I could use before realizing quite how big a mound it was going to be. This also was at Troy's initiative and I couldn't be more grateful.

Quick to respond to bid request and quick to take down payment and quick to want balance prior to any work. He set a day to start job. I was told job would take 2-3 days.I was told I had to be at home (which was later recanted that this was stated). I took day off work to be there. He NO SHOWED. He came the next day when I called, started the job and left it undone for 15 days.Never responded to multiple calls and e-mails. On day 16, when I suffered a cut when part of the wall toppled, I put credit card payment in dispute and filed a Construction Board claim, learning a recent claim was filed by someone else. He also has a bad Google review. He amazingly scrambled to come the next day and finished within 4 hours with lots of rudeness, arrogance, lies and excuses.

They did a great job. They were professional and responsive. They did a very high quality job on the paving they did. There was one little problem and they came right back to fix it with any question and no charge. The driveway looks really nice.

Terrible. Constant delays to get started. Very noisy work with heavy equipment that damaged the street in front of the house. Neighbors complained. They ruined my front lawn by driving a Bobcat onto it and it now must be replaced. They damaged the sprinklers, and actually paved over one sprinkler head. They failed to properly compact the soil and now the entire drive is settling and needs to be pulled out, the ground repacked, and replaced. The company has agreed to do this work, but it has yet to be done.

It looks amazing. Total transformation of my back yard. The work is of excellent quality. They even took some of the surface dirt and spread it into some holes to even out my back yard and gave me some of the left over gravel for an area that needed it. I had 5 companies come out to give estimates. They ranged from 5k to 15k for the same job. I went with Cascade as they were willing to answer my questions and spent a lot of time with me discussing the details during the initial consult. They have also been in business for 26 years and had a clean CCB record (#52149). They only problem I had was with communication about scheduling. The initial start date was to be eight weeks. They were busy and unable to start until 13 weeks. They were also unable to answer questions regarding protection of the siding of the house. This is likely due to liability (not in their field), I would definitely hire them again!
