"Mr. [member name removed] work was done November 2007 for $2250.00 He waited 17 months to inform us of a problem, we offered a good will repair even though he was 5 months past warranty. The 3 sqft problem he had would be done when we had another job in his area, since it is hot mix asphalt and would only take a couple shovel fulls. He wanted it done right then. When I told him that we were not going to buy 1 ton of mix and drag everything up there for 3 shovels full he had a fit and began cussing and screaming at me in my office in front of my 4 year old son. I immediately told him we would not do a goodwill repair since he was acting like that, he wasn't under warranty, and we would do nothing to help him. I threw him out of my office and told him not to come back. Mr. [member name removed] has known since April 2009 that we would not fix his problem. Feb 2010 he filed a CCB claim-denied for not being timely filed. Dec 2011 he filed a Small Claims Case July 2012 he had his day in court. The judge found that the problem was not our qualty of work, but due to a natural spring that we could not have forseen at the time of paving. Mr [member name removed] had a different contractor prepare the road including the base. We did a final grade and compaction right before we paved and there were no soft spots. Mr. [member name removed] was awarded $1000.00 because we had said we would do a goodwill repair and due to breakdown in communication we did not. For a problem that is now 3% (56 sqft)of the square footage we paved he effectively got back almost 50% of his money. We sent the full judgement amount via Certified Mail the next day, he held the check for 89 days before cashing it and would not sign the Satisfaction of Judgement that needed to be filed with the court. I had to petition the court to close the case after he cashed the check. Mr. [member name removed] tried to file suit against us again, the court denied it immediately. I have recieved several Demad Letters from him always wanting way more money than he paid for the whole job in the first place. There are entirely to many incidents that Mr. [member name removed] has threatended, harrassed, or caused property damage to detail here. He continues to claim we harass him all the while he is coming to our place of business spinning gravel all over the place during his working hours, screaming, and carrying on when he passes us on the road so yes I did send a letter to his place of employment informing them that he was trespassing, causing damage to my property, and menacing me while on company time. I have called the police and have given formal notice to him that he can not come onto our land at any time. After over 33 years in business in the same small community I have never had a custome like Mr. [member name removed]. If I could grade customers for other contractors I would give him an F and advise them to stay away. No amount of money is worth dealing with him. We are going on year 6 of dealing with him for 1 job that was $2250. If you are reading this review and question the response I have given then I invite you to contact our office, I have a 2" thick file on this whole situation that includes pictures, and am willing to show it to anyone that questions how we handled this situation, we have done nothing during this ordeal that we are ashamed of. We take great pride in the work we perform."
