Umpqua Stone employees are artisans and are passionate about what they do! I was re-doing my kitchen at my house in Portland while still living in Roseburg. I went to Umpqua Stone to see if they had slabs of Carrera marble. Bill (the store manager), like a good purveyor of stone, tried to counsel me not to use marble in my kitchen and showed me a beautiful piece of granite that actually looked like marble. It was beautiful but $125/square feet not including any laminating. Despite the cost I went with it and soon after Bill and his "artiste" Charles visited for templating. A week later it was finished and they were calling to schedule the install. Charles and two others returned for a full day of on-site cutting and installation. The workmanship was beautiful despite my very crooked kitchen! Their team comes up to Portland every few weeks to hand pick beautiful slabs from the various stone distributors. They only charged $500 to deliver - 2 trucks, 180 miles (each way), 50 stairs!
