Douglas Electric Cooperative founded Douglas Fast Net to bring advanced telecommunications to the county. Today, our driving goal is simple: to deliver high-speed broadband to everyone in Douglas County—even those in outlying areas that might not have gotten service before. In addition, we’ve brought unparalleled service to the medical and education community. DFN services allow doctors and technicians to work from areas outside the hospital to better serve patients. The Roseburg school district office is a hub for educational content thanks to DFN’s fiber network. Now teachers can show films and request materials instantly. Whatever it takes, if we can deliver broadband speeds at affordable prices to your door, we will. And we’ll do it with the service and support you’d expect from a neighbor, because we are. We employ over 40 local people in order to serve you better. For your convenience, we offer an on-line site where you can access your DFN account in order to view your statements, services, apply account payments, etc. We are proud to serve Douglas County and look forward to hearing from you!

I have never been treated so rudely in my life! When we moved to our home we were told fiber internet would be available in 3-4 months. Other than that we had no other options. I began calling for updates the month they said it might be available. I have been given excuse after excuse as to why they are delayed. I called every two weeks for updates only to get another excuse. I also left multiple voicemails with no call back. 3 months after they said we would have service "at the latest" I called and was told... "Poles are expensive it's gonna cost us $60,000 to get service to your location. Maybe you should have your neighbors call too because it's not worth it for us to just get you service." I understand business but that doesn't make a potential customer feel very valued. I was upset and had given up working with their company. Yesterday a man showed up to put in a pole on our property. I decided to call again as the line guy seemed like he cared. I was told it will still be several months. Taylor also let me know that no one there would have told me what I was told. I even gave her the man's name who said it to me. She didn't express any reaction to my comment. I said well I guess I'll call and check in 2 more months. Again she made no attempt to encourage me to be a customer. I really wish they would invest in some customer service training. I wouldn't give them my hard earned money for anything now. It's clear that doesn't matter to them at all.

Description of Work: I recently bought a house in semi-rural Douglas County. I contacted Douglas Fast Net to order wireless Internet. I was told it was the only option available to me by multiple ISPs. I put the order in and a few days later they called me back saying there had been a mistake and that I could actually get DSL. That was the only thing that went right with the office people from there on out. To make a long story short, it took a month and a half to get the DSL install completed. They would tell me a date when they would have more information. The date would come and -- nothing -- no contact of any kind. Eventually I would call them only to be given another date about a week and a half down the road. When they got information passed to them from the phone company it took days for them to act on it. | |The service tech who came out to do the install was the bright spot in the whole sad experience. He was right on time, very professional, and knowledgable. He worked with me to get my existing equipment working with their service. An all around good guy. | |In my experience: | |1) Count on the install taking forever |2) Don't ever expect the sales people to call you back |3) Grin and bear it, because you probably don't have any other options

Everything was exactly as they said it would be. They did not charge us and they were out to our house on time. The services have worked great and would use them again!!!
Description of Work: Added Chromecast to our services. They were fast and offered discounts to us. Service has always been grade A. I called them, they walked me thru the pricing and what the services can do. I then said I would love to have this service so they came out on the same day and hooked us up for FREE.
