He's really good at finding ways of keeping the cost low. I would hire him again.

I met with Yorck and the architect at the beginning and went over the overall plans and direction for the project. Yorck did the demolition and framing for the job and he also replaced all of the siding, after I decided to do that also midway through the project. He worked, with a helper, for time and materials. I always got accurate bills and he was exceptionally fair in his pricing. He enjoyed the project and worked on it as if it were his own home. Even when changes were needed along the way, he was open to them and worked with them in a collaborative and interested way. Working with Yorck on the remodel was almost like working with a family member or friend. Remodeling is always stressful, but Yorck made it as pleasant as anyone could. I couldn't have asked to work with a nicer, more skilled person.

Yorck Franken was completely unable to manage subs. and his own time properly. He would bill for time he did not spend on our job and mismanage payments. As far as his quality of work, most of the things he built ended up not being to code or having to be redone by another contractor as they were of such poor workmanship. Yorck Franken Construction would also demo. the site without a plan for rebuilding in place. The entire project was painfully slow and we had to terminate this contractor after 5 months and find a new crew.
