As so often happens here in Vancouver, WA, being on the border between 2 states, some companies need a license in both states or can only work in one. Either that was the reason I didn't use them, or it may have been that they didn't do what I wanted, which was to have a metal cricket made for my roof, or it may have been that they were too far away and the cost of gas made them suggest I use someone in Vancouver.

Composite roof went on quickly and professionally. Membrane went on quickly and professionally and return visits were made to adjust for modifications made by contractor. Roofers were focused and generally good about cleaning up after work was completed. So far, roof integrity has been good.

I thought they were fine. They were personable and did a professional estimate.

I have seldom worked with a more professional company. The bid was available to me when requested and was very competative. The tearoff crew arrived on the dot and worked efficiently and with a minimum of disruption. They were extremely careful of our structure and plantings and cleaned up to a "t". The roof went back on in a day and is remarkably fine. The craftsmanship displayed by the crew was impressive.

Todd gave us a bid which included detailed description of the work and the site management and the time frame. We found the bid favorable and the work began on time, proceeded quickly, was done efficiently and expertly. The mess was prodigious and the crew did a reasonably good job of cleanup. We had a problem area around the chimney which Todd fashioned a cricket for which has stood the test of heavy rains. The job was completed to our satisfaction in less time than was predicted.

First, I should disclose that I used to do ornamental metalwork, so I understand the scheduling issues that plague subcontractors. While my repair is a high priority to me, the damage that occurs to a newly-framed house waiting for a roof is much greater, and prompt work for a GC means repeat business, while a repair for a homeowner is just a feather in your cap. That's one reason I was surprised that Todd went to such great lengths to finish my repair before a major storm. When he showed up with his crew to do the work, despite the forecast, I was shocked. I wasn't expecting to see him for another week, and it meant a lot to us that he went the extra mile to squeeze us in. I did read the other reviews for him, and I am pleased to report that he always returned my calls, and gave us accurate information about scheduling. I'm sorry that not everyone has had the same experience, but not everyone recalls the truth, either. I will use Todd again for a remodel next summer.

I contacted Willamette Roofing and met with Todd Schwartz. Todd promised he would be available to perform the work during the time frame we outlined and gave us a written bid which said "prices good 45 days from bid." I called him to express acceptance of his bid immediately and asked in a voice mail several times to call me so we could schedule the work and sign a contract. Todd did not call back for several weeks until I left yet another message asking "should we be concerned that you are not calling back?" In a nut shell Todd called, said it would be delayed three weeks, finally sent a contract upping the price $1,000 with out warning even though I begged for a contract within the 45 days. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He became hostile and lied about events saying he changed his schedule to accommodate my needs, that is not what I understood. He accused me of not calling him, he could have called me or by builder if he had a question. He forgot I was the customer!
