Hired West Side Electric to add outlets and lights to our home office. West Side sent electrician to house who did not complete work (invoiced us $195). West Side sent second electrician to house, who also did not complete work (invoiced us $560). Still zero outlets and zero lights installed, job site left in condition pictured. Electrician stated home is now subject to municipal inspection, refused to allow look at paperwork he was holding/reading from. Requested at that point West Side Electric not return. Wired office light by ourselves in 2 hours, works fine (thanks YouTube). Can’t make this stuff up.

As a realtor, I recommend West Side Electric to all of my clients needing electrical work, as they are very communicative and do high-quality at a competitive price. This project for my home involved installing an underground electrical conduit for an electric post in our backyard as part of an exterior renovation project. They also installed rewired the front porch wiring assembly as part of a porch rebuild, and, finally, installed all new sconces around our home. I would definitely recommend West Side Electric to anyone needing electrical contracting services! This involved several visits, and they were always quick to respond and make things right. I would highly recommend Ranieri Plumbing for a job like this, as well as any other plumbing project.

Great! The electrician was on-time, knew exactly what was going on with the very non-standard wiring, and was able to replace the lighting fixture very quickly.

The work was performed in one day by two electricians (Cameron and Kyle) from West Side Electric Company. Various tasks were completed in a highly professional and proficient manner. As the work progressed, the few questions or concerns I had about it were fully addressed to my satisfaction. When the work was completed, my wife and I were very impressed with the final product. I would hire this company again if and when electrician expertise is required.

They arrived on time, and were very professional. But the price is atrocious. $175 for an hour. Ridiculous!

West Side were recommended as a subcontractor to complete electrical work in a kitchen. We were switching from an electric range to a dual fuel and needed the outlets changed and moved around. West Side arrived promptly and the electrician did this phase of the job well and essentially to estimate. While doing the job I asked the electrician to take a look at a Sauna that had been tripping and give me an estimate on repair. He took a look and said the circuit breaker was corroded and replaced it with a new one. The Sauna was fixed and began to work. A few hours after the job was completed, I received a call to say that the sauna actually needed a GFI breaker and that he would come back in a couple of days to put the correct one in. He did, while I was at work, and as soon as he did, the sauna tripped immediately. I received a bill with an additional $260 for the sauna fix including labor time for the second visit even though it was apparently a visit to rectify an error. I also discovered that a permit had been taken out for the other work with the City of Portland when I received the bill. The company had not informed me of this so I could arrange inspection, or arranged inspection themselves. They did however mark the permit up from $125 to $182..... I called the company and they were responsive and had the electrician come out again to look at the issue. Unfortunately he just tried to tell me the issue was with the sauna heater and not the breaker. He neither looked at the UL information in the manual, or looked at the unit itself. I then started to do my own research (I'm no electrician so was deferring to the professional until now). The manual for the appliance stated in bold that a GFI breaker should never be used with the sauna heater. I called the manufacturer's tech team to confirm. I then called the electrician back on his cell phone to let him know that there was indeed a mistake that had been made. He told me it was his day off and to call the office. I called Glen at the office and he promised to call the manufacturer, Finlandia and get back to me. I never heard back, but did receive another bill for payment from the company. The city inspector came out to inspect the kitchen work (an electrician by trade himself) and said it was unprofessional that they had not at least informed me that an open permit had been left on the job, and that the sauna was indeed fixed incorrectly. I then received a voicemail from a lady at the office asking why my bill was overdue. I returned her call the same afternoon letting her know when I would be available to discuss the issue on her voicemail. I never received a call back. At this point I lost faith in the company. I hired Frahler electric. They came out, replaced the GFI with a regular 40 AMP breaker in 10 mins and the sauna worked immediately. This whole issue could have been resolved if West Side had actually bothered to listen to me or been responsive. I docked the sauna work and permit mark up from the bill and paid them for the remaining work that had been completed properly. They did respond with a call to say they had accepted my payment and had written the remaining part of the invoice off. They apparently have a good overall reputation, but I can't help feeling that they dropped the ball on this one and were very unresponsive in trying to resolve the problem. I didn't pick this company in the first place and would not use them again.

We were concerned that the problem was related to some light fixtures that had previously been installed by Westside Electric, but it was completely unrelated. They squeezed us in the same day I called, and we really appreciated that. The electrician was initially puzzled by the readings that he was getting from the outlets in the room. He went down to the panel and removed the cover to see what he could find. He found a loose screw in the panel that was causing all the problems. Easy fix!

It went awesome! Mark J. arrived promptly and immediately went to work, putting together my pre-purchased ceiling fan and then dismantling my prior fan. He was super - answered any and all questions that I had, he was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. In regards to my outbuilding, he quickly identified the power breaker/source so that we could turn off power for future construction. Thank you Mark J.! My costs were for three hours of service plus a permitted minor labor. $130 for the first hour (includes travel time to site) then $110 per additional hour. Minor label permit was $45.

Very well-David explained the work he was doing, estimated the time needed accurately. There was a little mixup in the time I was told he would arrive and when he was actually scheduled, but it worked out ok.

West Side Electric fixed a problem that was left by another electric company.  They also fixed a number of small items that came up in a house inspection.  They do great work and I'd highly recommend them!
