Ben Hayes determined that the leak was owing to >100 year old iron pipes supplying water to upstairs. Replaced all the water pipes from the cellar to the upstairs bathroom. Job did not include repairing plaster. Did the job when we were out of town. Came in under estimate because drain pipes were not leaking. Very pleasant and professional.

I had done some of the preliminary work and had purchased the parts so that factored into the cost savings.
Ben was running a little late but texted me several times to keep me informed of that so I didn't consider that a problem. He apologized on arrival for being late.
He was professional but friendly. He was very clean in the work area and with his tools. I was very interested in how he was going to fix the part where I got stuck and he was gracious in talking through what he was doing so that I could learn.
I'm thrilled to know of an excellent plumber for the next time I need one.
