We replaced our old weathered front door with a beautiful new one - gives the house a whole new look! Jason did a great job installing both doors, and led us on a nice final inspection before he left. We are very happy with Truax and both of our new doors!
Jason, the installer, came a few minutes earlier than scheduled, which was great! He was here about nine hours. He removed and hauled away our old doors and installed two new, Craftsman-style doors, which included new jambs, molding and thresholds. He installed the dookrknobs and deadbolt locks we had bought (which aren't included in the door itself). Installing our back door necessitated removing our one of our security doors first. Jason also removed our unusually-shaped wood molding from around our back door and used it as a template to cut new molding which he then installed.
During the removal process, Jason sealed off the area to keep lead dust out of the house. He was pleasant and easy to work with. Our old house took awhile to work on, as he had to do things like creating shims to cause things to be even and level. When he was finished, we could hardly tell he?d had to go to so much trouble; they looked so good! After installing everything, Jason took the time to demonstrate to us some of the features of the new doors, as well as talk to us about how to sand and caulk them. Before he left, Jason quickly adjusted our other security door which wasn?t directly related to the project he worked on. (It had been sticking after we had a new foundation put in.) We received a discount for the installation by having two doors installed on the same visit.
They were very helpful in helping me select the best value windows. When they installed 2 windows they discovered a slight scratch on the windows and worked with me to get some money back from the manufacturer as it was their issue.
It has been several years since they did the work, and it has stood up to the test of time.
I would never go anywhere else.
"I’m sorry that we didn’t keep this member fully informed about the lead time for her doors, but our sales person was not informed that she was in a hurry for them. We told her that the normal lead time was approximately five working days from the date the order was placed, which was the best information we had. Our salesperson worked with her and helped her in her choice of doors and door glass, and when the selection process was complete she called her contractor (our customer) to confirm the order, and to verify some specific dimensions. The contractor did not return her call for two days with the information. Tami immediately placed the order, and eventually received a confirmation from our supplier indicating an eight working day lead time due to the type of glass selected (which was not in stock). This was only a few days longer than originally stated, so she did not call the contractor. Once she was called by the client and informed of her need for haste, she did all she could to try to expedite the order, but since the glass was a non-stock item, the lead time could only be shortened by one day. As soon as the doors arrived at our facility our salesperson called her contractor to let them know the doors had arrived. He came in the next day and picked them up. Again, I apologize for the failure on our part to keep Evelyn informed of the extended lead time."
