Great. Very easy to communicate with, set up a convenient date quickly, technician/owner was extremely professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Without ANY scare tactics, let me know about some suggested future maintenance to put on my repair calendar - and showed me a picture so I could see what was going on. Has an experienced mason on staff. Made some educated suggestions on improving drafting in my fireplace. Completely satisfied with operations, knowledge and price.

Great!! Tobias was knowledgeable and gave a clear analysis and explanation. His bid was thousands below what another quoted. Joe did the work and did a thorough job. He determined that some spots not identified initially needed grinding and filling. Much appreciated. The 2 days worked were the 98 degree days. It was a pleasure to provide ice water. Tip Top came recommended by our highly esteemed contractor, Jonathan Rawson of Rainy Day Construction. Thank you Jonathan for another great recommendation.

Got three bids. One was from a large Portland company that charged me $142 for the inspection of the chimney, where the guy took pictures, spent a lot of time (an hour) with me to explain all it needed, and then gave me a bid of something around $4,000. He explained that I had many loose bricks and they needed replacing besides some tuckpointing, sweeping, and waterproofing. Bid two was from a smaller company. Said I didn't need to replace bricks, just tuckpoint. With cleaning, tuckpointing, sealing of the flashing and waterproofing, the bid was $1875. Tobias Watts, owner of Tip Top Chimney Sweep, came out and agreed that I did not need to replace any bricks, just tuckpoint. He came out when the weather was decent, did the tuckpointing, waterproofed and swept the chimney, and even painted and sealed the flashing. All for $850. It looks great, and what makes this a rave review is that Tobias is not only an experienced, competent chimney servicer, but he's also a rare contractor - someone who's word is gold and who takes pride in his work and in providing the best service for his customers. Couldn't be better.

We have a tile roof and he had equipment to do the work without going on the roof. It was good.

Had a bad ceiling leak along the chimney that developed during one of the wild rain storms this winter. Called Tip Top in an emergency and Tobias came out promptly to troubleshoot the problem. After questioning, examining and testing the chimney and flashing he determined that water was penetrating through some bad brick mortar and later came back to grind out and replace the affected sides. The work was top quality and Tobias thoroughly explained the process and even gave advice on other related issues. He is a "one man show", very genuine and I don't think I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere. He very effectively made my disastrous problem go away and I am grateful !!!

We met Tobias at rental house.  Chimneys had not been used in years because they caused the downstairs to get smoky.  Tobias explained that the height of the chimney caps was responsible (not the cracks in the mortar downstairs) and gave us a reasonable bid for correcting the problems.  He was prompt and professional for each appointment. He did an excellent job and now it's beautiful and fixed!
