It went absolutely perfectly! I would and do recommend him to all my clients! He is a hard worker, does a great job, and he has very competitive prices!
Description of Work: Frank helped us redo our kitchen. It is an old 1950's house and had a narrow galley kitchen with soffits that came down from ceiling so the cabinets were a foot lower than the ceiling. We also had a 4x4 skylight put in when our roof was redone, and it needed to be finished with plaster. Frank finished the skylight- which is gorgeous and added so much light to our kitchen, he took out the soffits and replastered the ceiling, and he took down the wall between the kitchen and dining room, opening up the rooms. He did the whole thing in about a week! The kitchen is so beautiful now- it has totally changed our house! It is now our favorite room! The plastering looks perfect - you can't even tell where he started or stopped. And his prices were really good! I have recommeded him many times to my clients- I am a realtor- and everyone says he is very competitive in price and does awesome work!

It went awesome! Frank and his son Frankie came and did the work quickly and efficiently- it looks like the french doors and closet were always there! I am a realtor- have my own real estate company- Portland Creative Realtors- a family company with my 3 daughters as partners and we are extremely busy- so use alot of contractors and see good work and not so good work, ethical contracters, and those who are not! Frank is everything you want in a contractor! And I think it is cool that Frank works with his son- it is a family business too! Small and local! That is what we need to support- more local family businesses! Especially when the do the kind of work Frank does!
Description of Work: We have a 1951 ranch house with a third of an acre- cool gardens in front and back- but no access to yard except front door and laundry room door. So we decided to put in 3 sets of french doors- one in living room, one in master and one in den. When we went to cut the wall out for the doors, we discovered it was plaster and had chicken wire!! What a mess! We had to cut the chicken wire with wire cutters as we cut out the plaster! You can imagine how bad the plaster looked. I didn't know how we were going to fix it. We had Frank of Tinsley Plastering come out and give us a bid. The bid seemed fair- so we had him do the work. He did an awesome job- all 3 doors look like they had been there all along! He did it quickly- and left everything perfect! It looked so good, we decided to cut out the whole wall in master bedroom to open it up for closets- it was dead space behind the wall. We put in organizers from IKEA, cool sliding doors, and Frank fixed the plaster! Our bedroom now has a 10 foot wall of closet drawers etc and a french door opening up to the garden and pond/waterfall in the back yard! Our living room has french doors opening up to a custom stone raised bed garden and artsy chicken coup! and our den opens up to flagstone patio and outdoor fireplace! It has totally changed the character of the house- bringing the outside in! We couldn't have done it without Frank.

Our backyard is a walled courtyard. The back wall, about 40 feet long in the past had been the wall of a garage that was torn down. The stucco was falling off the back wall and we needed this problem fixed before getting our house painted. Different painters and one other stucco contractor looked at it to diagnose the situation - we thought it was a moisture problem. Frank (of Tinsley Plastering) came out the same day we called him. By this time we had removed some of the stucco. He pointed out that the underneath cinderblock wall had been painted and this was the reason the stucco was detaching. He started his work a couple days later, removing the remaining stucco and then drilling off the painted finish on the cinderblocks. Then he restuccoed the wall with several layers. It took about 3 days from start to finish. We were very lucky to get Frank between jobs so that the work was done within a week of our initial contact. Frank was both very professional and very friendly and cooperative. I feel very lucky that we found him to solve this problem.
Description of Work: Frank removed detaching stucco from a 7 foot x 40 foot wall, drilled off the underlying finish on the cinderblocks, and restuccoed in several layers.

Description of Work: We had Frank with Tinsley Plastering repair and refinish 555 feet of our HOA common wall. He was very responsive and did an excellent job. We were pleased with the outcome and would feel confident recommending him. We look forward to working with him in the future.

It couldn't have gone better. He and his son worked on it. They are both very friendly and hard-working. Frank has been doing this forever and is a stucco master. The scaffolding alone would have cost me $4000 if I had hired a scaffolding company to put it up and take it down. Frank's bid for everything was $6000, including scaffolding, labor and materials.
Description of Work: I needed to stucco a turret in front of my house. I had one guy out who was going to seal the upper portion. When he came out to do the job he said he didn't realize how high it was and he was afraid of falling to his death. I called another guy for the stucco. He came out and took measurements and said he'd call back with an estimate. Never called. I finally called Frank Tinsley because although he had no reviews, he was on Angies List and his website had some nice pictures. He came out with his wife and dog. Took measurements. Gave me a bid on the spot and started the next week. Did an Awesome job. CHECK OUT THE PICTURES BELOW!
