The first call was great but the 2nd service call is charged unreasonably. The electrician found out after 15-20minutes working that our ceiling fan (not turned on) is fine, just an outlet tripped. We received a bill of 1.5hour charge including travel time. That’s way too high for not having to fox anything.

They're great troubleshooters. I haven't used them in a couple of years but they have a reputation around here as being one of the top company of Portland to do electrical work; they do a lot of commercial work. They're a little more expensive than other people but they always do a good job as far as electrical. You can always count on them to do a great job.

They did an excellent job. They were the sub contractors. The added lot of outlets and circuit breakers and things like that. They were extremely punctual and professional. They were very reasonably priced. I would rate them high overall and would use them again in the future.

The electrician arrived on time and went right to work. He was friendly, courteous, and professional. Due to circumstances beyond control, the electrician was unable to finish the job on the first day. He did however offer to stay late and get as much done as he could. This was a good gesture on his part and it was very much appreciated, however, I was not in any particular hurry to have the job completed that day and the electrician returned on the following week and completed the job as promised. We have used Tice Electric in the past and and have always been very pleased.

They send a bidder person who gives you the price and works out the details of what is to be done. Then when you are ready for their work, they schedule the technician to come do the work. They send the same technician each time. They give you the phone number of the technician so you can call if there is a change or if there are questions. Technician worked with me about the hanging of the lights in a particular way. When inadvertent damage occurred to cabinet parts due to the bidder stepping on a box holding the sheathing, Tice paid for the replacement without any delay or difficulty after sending someone to see the damage. The office contacts are helpful and pleasant.

As the job was too small to send someone out for an estimate; I was called back (promptly) by a technician who gave me a ballpark figure between $200 and $400. As this was way below a previous estimate from another company I went for it. Due to my security issues, an appointment was worked-in for me in 2 days. The technician, Dave, called in advance as he was free earlier than expected. I had purchased the sensor and fixtures in advance; but had discovered I was sold the wrong kind of fixture. Dave went over my best options including the possible drawbacks of each; and offered to reschedule if I'd still wanted to save $ and purchase the new fixture myself. I said "no" and went off to get one for me. Even with that added expense the bid turned out to be right on target. Dave was very courteous and genuinely interested in my opinions. it was an excellent experience!

They were on time, quick, and professional. They were also the only company I called out of four that could/would schedule me the day after I called.

The electrician who did the work was cantankerous from the very start. He complained about having to do the job at all. He expected me to help him with the job, assisting in feeding wire etc. I explained to him that I couldn't because I also had work to do. That made him even crankier. Worst of all, as he was working in the garage he proclaimed that he had "stepped in some of my dog mess" and proceeded to wipe the dog excrement on his shoe off on my garage wall! I explained to him that I do not have a dog, but he didn't apologize for tracking in dog poop or for wiping it on the wall. I later called Tice and left a message for the owner informing him that I had a complaint. He never returned my call. Any company can end up with a bad employee, but if the owners don't care, you can expect nothing but bad service.

Great company. They went below the average bidding price of other companies I compared. They were quick, consistent, and easy to work with.

I've used them before and they do good work. The fellow came and installed everything within two hours and was very good about closing doors, watching for pets, etc. It seemed like an awful lot of money for the work though. My only complaint is that they seem to have an odd scheduling procedure. The estimator does the scheduling, so if he's not in the office, which is likely most of the day, there's only one other person who knows the schedule, and if she's not in, no one can tell you whether you are scheduled or not. I had to wait several days and a couple of phone calls to make sure a changed work day was actually scheduled, and then didn't find out until the morning the work was scheduled.

They were very professional and on time. They did good work. The cost reflects the price to hook up the light, about 2 hours of work.

The worst experience I've ever had with a contractor -- bar none. I specified underground conduit to be a minimum of 16'' deep. They installed it 7'' deep. External lighting for my front entry was run outside the siding using ugly metal conduit, impeding subsequent window replacement. Fan was ''installed'' with duct simply shoved into attic rather than being routed to outside wall. Lamp post was ''installed'' by running metal conduit up from a hole in the ground and setting the lamp post base loose over the conduit. Wires were terminated in a non-weather-tight box -- not a lamp. 19 large holes were left unpatched in two different ceilings and five walls. Minor repairs needed to two other walls where work was not performed (tools poked through from far side). Heaters billed for despited being supplied by customer. Re-wiring necessitated by contractor mistake billed twice. Truly an awful experience.

An estimator came out and was very friendly and informative, I got the estimate in the mail a couple days later, and they made it easy to schedule the work. The electrician came out exactly on time, dug the trench through the back yard neatly and without ruining my nice new grass, completed the work the following morning just as the estimator had said, and had the inspector there that same day for the permit. He cleaned up after himself nicely in the basement too. I had already installed the garage door opener, so it was all ready to use! Always amazes me when things go according to plan!

THEY CAME, THEY SAW, THEY WORKED, THEY LEFT. IT WAS KIND OF LIKE THAT. THEY DID A BUNCH OF IT WHILE I WAS NOT HOME. THEY CAME WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO COME OUT, BUT THEY WERE JUST A LITTLE BIT LATE.
