It went very smoothly. Good process. My only complaint is that I didn't realize when I order it a lot of things did not fit on the drawers. But the product is excellent. I'm really satisfied with it. The process is pretty easy. The man who helped me ordered it was very helpful. The color is nice. They also took in the samples of my floor and helped me pick a good color.

Roofing
We went with the Home Depot because they were a middle range quote, were offering a longer warranty than the other contractors, and promised that the work would start within 6 weeks of signing. It took 4 months from signing for the project to get done, with little to no communication about the various cancellation dates. We made special accommodations multiple times to work from home and have the dog at day care and then no one would show up to do the work. My husband had to call the home depot installation manager multiple times to get answers, he never called us in advance to change the scheduled roofing date. Below are the issues with the project: The roofers took the fascia off my house which was explicitly not in the contract and then walked away after the project was done with a hole in my siding where the fascia had been. The installation manager told me that I had a lot more work to do on the siding--we had to call the contractor to actually get the installation manager to agree to put fascia back up—my husband fixed the hole. The contract was for the main part of our roof, not the entirety, and yet the entire roof was torn off and replaced. This could be ok, however, there are sections of coping metal that the roofers took off and then put the old material back on and it looks drastically different than it did before. It is now bent, not attached properly, and draining on to the stucco siding rather than directed away from the house as it was previously. When we talked to the installation manager about that he said we probably just didn’t notice it before. Once all of this was discussed and some of it fixed, we noticed more leaking in our bathroom–where we initially noticed our roof needing repair, and in late October we realized the scupper they had replaced was not flush with the outside wall and the inside of our wall was exposed to rain. Overall, my complaint is with the Home Depot, the service team, and especially the installation manager. We have called the Home Depot local branch office in Renton, the Installation manager, the Warranty Office and our team leader over 10 times (I have a phone record of it) and received no active response and no one has come to look at it through the Home Depot. We got a hold of the installation manager for the first time in mid December, because the warranty office called him on conference call, and he told me it was “bad customer service.” Yes, I absolutely agree. And yet as far as we know he still has done nothing since then to even come see what the issue is. We called the independent contractor directly yesterday—although we were hesitant to have them touch our house again—and they will be fixing it this weekend. DO NOT go through home depot for your roofing project, go to an independent contractor where there is no middle man and where they actually care about your satisfaction and the job they are doing. We will not be using home depot home services for any of our projects ever again, and we will make sure others know how negligent and awful their service is.

Carpet Installation
I purchased a new dishwasher from The Home Depot as well as paid the extra cost to have it delivered and installed at a rental property that I own. Home Depot called me (by automated message) the night before the delivery and gave a four hour window in which the delivery and service would be performed. The message also stated I would receive a call or message thirty minutes prior to the actually delivery. Since my wife had to work, I retained a babysitter ($10.00/hr) for a half-day's work. The Home Depot message stated they would deliver the dishwasher between one to five o'clock the next day. By 4:45 pm I had received no call from either The Home Depot or the delivery company. I called the 800 number provided to me (another automated service) which revealed no new information on my delivery so I then called The Home Depot store where I bought the machine and a check of their system also revealed no unusual circumstances like the truck was stuck in traffic or delayed at their last job, etc. By now it was nearly 5 p.m. The store employee offered to try to contact the delivery company and I told her no because the delivery company or Home Depot should give a courtesy call, at the very least. I also vented my frustration to the employee that I arranged my schedule and already spent $60.00 on a babysitter - for no reason. Furthermore, I couldn't keep my babysitter in limbo. She has a life and plans of her own. At this point I cancelled my order and explained that I will take my business (and money) elsewhere. The employee was courteous and apologetic so I will give Home Depot a couple points for that. The Home Depot makes little to no effort to accommodate the customer's schedule. They give you their available days and that is that. They require a four-hour window, which in my experience is a large window. Most small companies and contractors ask for a two-hour window to show up and they usually are flexible. Not Home Depot. They offer no flexibility. If the time frame they demand doesn't work for the customer, the customer must reschedule for another day. Because The Home Depot didn't meet their own expectation AND didn't have the courtesy to notify me that they would be late delivering their product and service AND created an unnecessary expense for me (babysitting), I give them a failing grade. Note - at ten minutes past 5 o'clock I received an automated message that my product was on the way. I pressed option 3 - cancel delivery. At 5:35 pm as I was about to leave, the delivery truck arrived. I told to crew I cancelled and didn't need them and sent them on their way.

Carpet Installation, Ceramic Tile Service
I had two different colors for my ceramic tile. I left the house and they installed in the incorrect colors and was expecting me to just leave it as is. I told him that I paid a lot of money and he needed to take out the tile and replace it with the correct colors. I had to call Home Depot and argue with them in order to get them to send the service man back out to fix the work. He came back out and was rushing the job and I told him to slow down or he would be coming back out to fix the job again. He went on a rant and started slamming his tools on the ground and then stormed out and said he would not come back to my home again.

We have a house built in 1941 which needed a replacement window. Our windows are steel windows
but to buy a replacement steel window costs more than we wanted to spend. Home Depot carries
windows with the same look as our steel windows and helped us design a window that fit our custom
size. The price was less than expected and it was ready to pick up in 3 weeks.

Appliance Sale
They gave us an outstanding deal on the washer and the dryer. They also gave us a military discount. They not only came home to install it, but they also took away the old stuff. They were best at their appliance support. The guys who answered all my questions were absolutely great. They even said that we don?t need the steam cleaner, if we were not using it, as we had the allergy friendly washer and dryer. They didn?t want us to spend a lot of money. They not only gave us a great deal, but they also explained things to us. They also told us as to why we didn?t need certain stuff. It was a great experience of shopping at Home Depot and there couldn?t be a better experience of buying something that was so expensive. I felt that the price that we paid for the washer and dryer was cheaper than the display model that another company had on sale. The guys who came to get the work done were here on time and they were very professional too. I will use their services in the future as well.

Garage Door Service
They ended up taking a long time getting me the garage door. I had picked out a certain style and color but it ended up taking over 6 weeks to ship so they got me a better quality door rather than waiting for the one I choose.

I had a good experience with the man who helped me with the electrical supplies. The man spent a lot of time giving me advice about electrical work for the house and garage. He was very friendly, nice, and helpful. He spent a couple hours with me total over three visits. He advised me about things I needed to do with the electrical work. I've only had to return a product once, and that went fine.

Went in for the special and the lady I spoke with was very honest that the model I came in for was a promo and it would be hard to find blades or batteries later. Showed me another model for just a few dollars more with a lot more power which I found out later is actually very necessary to my project. Saved me time which is money!

Doors
Installer tried to charge us an extra $140 to remove an existing frame when that is supposed to be included in original charge. Also, they lied and told Home Depot that they hauled away our old doors and charged our credit card an extra $40 when WE were the ones who hauled our own doors away. Not honest people at all. Watch the extra charges and don't have your product installed by them.

Easy, delivery and installation were free and on time. Delivery costs were paid up front with mail in rebate (huge packet of paperwork) that came 2 months later.

Window Service
I contacted Home Depot to get an estimate on installing new vinyl windows in our house, a 1958 ranch. The rep was very nice on the phone, and we made an appointment. He never showed. After that, the corporate office called me repeatedly and I decided to give them another shot. The same rep who missed the appt. the first time came to our house. He didn't remember we had scheduled an appointment with him before, but was apologetic when I mentioned it. He was at our house for several hours and gave us a lengthy and unnecessary demonstration of the windows. After the demo he finally gave us a quote that was $3000 more than any other quote we received! We have decided to go with another company and are confident we are getting windows of equal quality for much less money.

Doors
The work was performed by a Home Depot installer. The doors were measured by the installer and special ordered. When they came, I got a call and picked them up myself and brought the doors upstairs and next to the spot to put them in. Home Depot had told me the installer was afraid to work up on the deck and I had to remove the existing doors and remove them from the work area. He was 3 hours late and worked 2 hours for $500.00. When the installer got there, he said the doors were too small and he would need other materials and would have to reschedule and the next opening was a month away. Since the old door was removed, he said he could do a rough install and I would have to complete it or wait for a month. I said if he was on time he could have gotten the extra materials and had time to complete it, which didn't seem to bother him or make a difference. This job was way over price and half completed.

I WOULD AVOID USING THE DEPOT UNLESS YOU ENJOY "OVER PAYING" FOR LABOR, THEY USE VARIOUS CONTRACTORS, AND SUB-CONTRACTORS, AND COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ALL IS POOR AT BEST, AND QUALITY OF WORK RANGES FROM VERY GOOD TO NOT SO GREAT! THEY CHARGED ME $805 TO LAY VINYL IN 2 SMALL BATHROOMS, AND A SMALL UTILITY ROOM. TO WHAT AMOUNTED TO A LABOR COST OF $145 PER HOUR! I WILL NOT USE THE HOME DEPOT EVER AGAIN FOR AN INSTALL OF ANYTHING.
