The Door Works Co., Inc.

In 6/20, Door Works replaced a wooden exterior door and frame with a synthetic door and frame at a cost of $1,000. Within less than a year, the upper frame corners started to warp. Over a period of several months, the joints were 1/2" out of alignment. In the summer of 2021, I contacted Door Works twice via email through their website, but got no response either time. I finally had to hire someone else to make a repair. The new contractor found that short headless nails were used, and were not adequate to hold the pieces in place.

Excellent! Set up appointment to have our door evaluated. Took measurements and ordered a fiberglass clad replacement with custom color (black outside and white inside). After door arrived, set up appointment for installation. Extremely professional and careful install with new weather-stripping and proper bevel to ensure a tight fit. Great attention to detail for hinge and hardware placement.

After tenants moved out of our rental property we realized that the two exterior doors did not seal properly and were warped and worn. The doors were still serviceable but were not "right". I was able to reach Adam easily and got a very reasonable quote with the understanding that it may be more if he found significant damage when he took the doors off. I explained that I didn't want to replace the doors unless it was totally necessary. With that understanding Adam showed up on time and did the work exactly as I expected. The doors swing and seal closed very nicely now. Adam was very knowledgeable about door hardware and mechanics and was a pleasure to work with. I was worried that the door fixes were going to be very expensive and/or delay getting the place ready to rent and that was not the case at all. Ii would highly recommend The Door Works.

The man who came out checked out the doors, took measurements. He tucked in a loose piece of weatherstripping, no charge. He was pleasant and clearly knew doors. I bet he does excellent work, but... That was two months ago. Emails sporadically have gone back and forth. I'm pretty mellow; I know small jobs need to be fit into schedules, etc. But this is ridiculous. My last email this week has gone unanswered. If they did want to take such a small job, why not just say so? I've seen a few other reviews with the same story and I regret not paying them more attention. So my advice would be not to wait for them. If you try them and get scheduled right away then yay, consider yourself lucky, I guess? If not, move on to another company or handyman.

It was great! Pete was a careful and thorough consultant, checking security on our existing doors and researching the best solutions for compliance for the new doors. He was communicative through the process and the technicians were helpful and responsive.

The work was done quickly and at a very fair price. We can hardly believe how easy it is to open, shut, lock and unlock the door. The repairman clearly knows his craft. We wish we had hired Door Works years ago.

They work about 2-4 weeks out and I was able to get an appointment in 2 weeks.  Christopher came out and shaved down 5 doors and one cabinet door so they opened easily without sticking.  He did the work in our garage and cleaned up afterward.  Overall a great experience.

So glad to have someone come. I will review when work completed. Workman professional, polite and came up with a plan. He did not have an explanation as to why the other man did not follow thru.

They were easy to schedule with and arrived on time and were very fast... way faster than we could have done this! My only two qualms are that one of the workers was clearly newer and I feel like I paid for an amount of time for "training" where the more experienced person left the project he was working on to give direction to the other worker. They also stopped so I could describe the other projects I was interested in getting quoted. I don't know if they included the time spent talking about the other projects in their billable hours... they didn't break down the billable hours but I made a guess based on the hourly rates I was told over the phone and the amount of time they spent at my house. The issue is that they never actually followed up on those projects as promised. I'm just having the more pressing one done by someone else.

The professional did a fantastic job and was able to fix all three doors.  I had considered trying to fix the doors myself by putting new tracks.  But realized that I was glad I didn't even bother trying.  I would have never figured out that the original tracks were never put in the correct place from the start.

Each door now runs smoothly and they no longer pop out of place.  The fit is tight and they work better than new.

Mike was great!  He arrived on time, worked quickly and solved all of our problems at a very reasonable cost.

Nathaniel was very professional.  Firstly, he called the morning of my appointment to tell me his approximate arrival time and then was punctual.  He reviewed my project and gave me an estimated cost.  He worked hard to get the project completed in a timely manner.   He did a great job.  He was cleaning up when I noticed one door was sticking.  He then quickly and pleasantly went to work adjusting that door.  I appreciated his desire to do a good job. 

I would recommend The Door Works anyone.

I had called to get an estimate.  The serviceman arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He also fixed it!  And gave options for future fixes if needed.  I had expected this to be a long, drawn out process, but the job is done, and at the price of a simple service call.

I had a very large, glass and metal door that was not latching to stay closed. After calling a few places whom estimated astronomical amounts for repair, I found "The Door Works". I called them to come take a look and the gentleman they sent was extremely knowledgeable, and even though our place is a little tucked away, and for most companies, hard to find, he found us with no problem, and was ON TIME. He came in, addressed the problem, and fixed the door in an efficient, quick manner. On top of that, he was professional and trustworthy. The amount they charged was great! I will definitely call them again. Very pleased.

Olof was completely professional. he showed up on time, got straight to work, before I knew it he was finished. we will definitely be using The Door Works Co. in the future.

My slider out to the backyard has not been sealing well for years. I've had contractors come out and tell me I need to replace the slider ($$$), which does not fit into my budget right now. I called Door Works to explain the problem with my door, and they said they maybe able to fix it instead of replacing it. They arrived on time and was very professional. Less than an hour later, the door is now sealing perfectly. They saved me over $1200 for a replacement door. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who needs work on their doors.
