Once again, Superior Fence rocks! I bought a cyclone fence from these guys last year, and at that time I had them install a rolling fence section in front of my carport to keep my cars protected. Here recently one of the tires sprung a leak, and to my amazement they came out and replaced both tires at no charge. Amazing service! Great company to work with. If you buy a fence from someone else, you'll most likely end up paying more and get less.

Job went good from start to finish. Extremely satisfied with the end result.  They were booked out farily far but were upfront about it and got the job done when they said they would.  Thanks guys.

Other than a little difficulty in getting the initial quote to accurately reflect the work we wanted done, these guys were on time with the estimated date of installation.  The installation crew was very professional and worked consecutive full days until the job was done.  Their price quote was mid range of the estimates we received and was the only one that quoted the exact materials and fence style we wanted.  An "A" for this company.

It went very smoothly. They arrived on the first day and had the post holes dug and placed within a couple hours, then they returned a few days later to put up the actual fence once the posts had set. We've had the fence for 3 years now and couldn't be happier with it. We're looking at doing some fencing in the back of our property and our planning to contact them for an estimate on that project as well.

We contracted with them in April. Dave came out and gave us an estimate to change the opening to our backyard from a 10 to 12 foot opening and install a slider gate.  Of paramount importance was that the gate was to fully enclose the opening as we have dogs of varying sizes that we did not want to escape.  He said it would be about 3 weeks or so before they could do the installation. WRONG. On April 30, I e-mailed them to find out when the gate would be installed.  The answer the next day was "Tuesday, the 6th of May". Tuesday, the 6th of May, came ..and went.  I called on the afternoon of the 6th and was told the installation would be done "tomorrow" (the 7th).  They showed up in the morning!!  Yee Haw.  Posts were set....hubby and I left to take care of a few errands leaving others in the house.  We came back around 11am....posts were there...nothing else.   I ASSUMED (bad me: a** u me)...that the installation was going to be done in TOTALITY.  Nope...quickset was NOT used. The posts needed to "cure" for 2-3 days...which I found out ONLY after having called the office.  No date when the gate would be installed.. I voiced extreme disappointment with the staff since we have 4 dogs ...the gate was left totally open and there had been NO communication with the installer.  We purchased chicken wire and secured the perimeter.  When we had met with the estimater initially, we stressed that having a secure area for the dogs was key. Another call to them to find out when the gate would be installed (where I asked to speak to a manager but was redirected), indicated it would be on the 13th. I said we had other contractors coming on that day and the gal on the phone said it would be in the pm. At 9 a.m., everyone (the other contractor included) showed up!  The gate was installed.  Happy for that...they did a good job but left MANY areas open for dogs to escape. So we had to amend the gate and surrounding areas with additional steel pipe to secure the area. Needless to say, the sign they affixed to the gate has been removed...no recommendation here...

Since we were splitting the cost with a neighbor, Superior Fence, graciously sent each of us half of the bill; 1/2 before and 1/2 after.  Posts were set in concrete and allowed to cure.  Fence installed, no problems at all.  Fence is exactly what we wanted.

I should have been warned from the start.  Like many Portlanders, the sun came out in Spring and we were ready to start a fence project.  I called several contractors for estimates and my guy from Superior no-showed.  After an apology, I allowed a reschedule. The bid was financially the best out of 3 (= cheapest)., and that was the most important at the time.
The first problem was how long it took for them to put me on their schedule, which was an ongoing issue since there were many return trips.   But the biggest problem was the installation.  The posts were not put where we had asked them to be placed along the property line we shared with neighbors, so we stopped installation while that was worked out.  We decided not to pay the extra to move the posts, and then it took another 2 weeks to get on the schedule.
In the meantime, several posts twisted and split, which the contractor said was our fault since we interrupted installation.  Unfortunately, I was never told that this was a possibility and told him this.  In addition,  two of the 3 gates were poorly hung and didn't open.  Some of the wood warped.  The style of fence we chose was supposed to look good on both sides and the neighbor's side had nails poking out (right near a play area for kids) and hammer dents on the wood.  Hardware was midplaced and replaced leaving drill holes on the wood.
Fortunately, I did get the posts, gates, cracked and bulging wood, drill-holed  panels and protruding nails replaced, but only after a lot of resistance from the project manager and after several trips.  All told, this project for 2 sides of a city block property took 5 months from start to finish.  Ultimately a manager was the one to come in and make sure everything was completed.   He was polite, thorough and efficient-- but about 4 months too late.
I was not an Angie's list member at the time but quite frankly, I might have gone ahead with this contractor based on the reviews currently posted.    In the end, I am satisfied with my fence but the process was extraodinarily stressful. If you choose this company and are unsatisfied, be sure to ask for a manager or supervisor right away.  I am a relatively new homeowner and learned a lot about how I will do things differently in the future.  A more assertive customer may have had a smoother experience.  But I do not recommend this company based on my experience.

Chose this company because it was used by a neighbor and was recommended. Also wanted to match the neighbor's fencing to join it seamlessly.

Some yard work we had done removed a growth of ivy that was covering and hiding an insecure gate in our backyard. When the ivy went away, I realized that I had to deal with the gate. I ultimately want to replace our entire back fence, but most of it remains quite solid even though it isn't that attractive.

It actually took a few calls to get an estimator out, but the price was reasonable. After sending in our 25% deposit. It took a couple of weeks to get on the schedule and a couple of phone calls to find out the exact date.

The work was done well, with one visit to remove the old section of fence and cement in the posts and a second visit to install the fence. Though they don't get high marks in communication, their work is good and I imagine they will get the contract to replace the remaining fencing in the next year or two.

I will use them again. Their customer service is great. Their followup and contact way is great. The whole experience is good. They are clean. They are very professional. It was a nice and a good experience. The price is fair. They weren't the cheapest. They weren't the most expensive, but they were fair.

Work done per proposal. I had several points along the way that I was horribly frustrated, but the fault was not the company's. I originally asked my spouse to meet with the company rep, since I had spent so much time with the Henderson and Daughter window replacement, and couldn't be everywhere. The plan was to simply do more of what was there already. This was not communicated by my spouse, though he feels differently. It's only a chain fence. Not the end of the world. There were multiple bids, and I DID see the bid sheet, but rather casually. If I had been there for the original bidding, I could have just SAID "do it the way it already is" but the final version had a wider gate than the other two on the property -- NOT a plus, and the chain fabric with the points facing down rather than up, etc. Again this was a communication issue. The new garden gets a fence and we get some privacy. The work done is good, so live and learn -- communicate!

Pat was our estimator and he was very generous through the bidding process with his time. He forgot our initial appointment which is a pain when you have to take time off from work to meet, but in subsequent appointments, he was patient and answered our questions. We went with Superior not due to price, but out of what seemed like a demonstrated willingness to make the project work. We went over the job site multiple times in painful detail illustrating without drawing a picture what level of quality we were expecting (draw a picture.) What we learned is that we had no idea what questions to ask, like are you going to be building a Z-frame or Perimeter box frame gate? Will you be hiding the nail work you do and what is your standard for quality carpentry? Will you be leaving us a project site that is ready to stain and finish or will there be muddy bootprints on the Cedar work and concrete debris left uncollected? Will you return to the job site after three months if one of the gates you installed has sagged because of poor installation and now doesn't operate well? Part of the problem with our experience with Superior is none of the information we passed on multiple times to the estimator like aesthetics, expectations, etc. was passed onto the crew that did the work. They showed up with a simple illustration and knocked out the gates in several hours. The quality was alarming, and looked like it had been assembled by grade schoolers. We tried to let it sit for a month to become accustomed to the build quality and when that didn't work after two weeks, I called the office to complain and ask for the estimator to come on site so that we could find out how to address our concerns. The estimator came and told us this project met their standards for the site and that frankly they saw nothing wrong with it. Livid, and recounting our previous conversations, not what was illustrated very simply on the form we signed, we felt as if we were sold a fence with Superior just agreeing to whatever details and specifics we asked, but with no intention of producing anything more than a Home Depot build quality. We were devastated and wanted to pay craftsmen for craftsmen quality as we made clear in the entire process. What we got was inferior and Superior felt no umbrage that we were unhappy with the result.

Pat Sherrell was my salesman and answered all my questions and was very pleasant. The two young men who showed up did a fast, clean job. They had to leave early on one day but it was unavoidable and the next AM they were here, finished the job, cleaned up well and I would certainly use them again. Only thing I would suggest is a little better communication. I had to call their office again to get my answers when I was promised a call back. Small price to pay for good work.

Our neighborhood HOA was in a huge pool remodel when we were told by our maintenance guy he forgot to order our pool gate. Our pool was scheduled to be open in two weeks! We were going to be dealing with angry homeowners if they were not able to use the pool when we said. I called about 15 different companies and was told no way to get a gate built and installed within two weeks. They all told me they were booked solid for another five weeks. When I called Superior Fencing I spoke with Gregg the manager. He took the time to go over the entire gate spec's and educated me on pool gates. When I told him I would make cookies for his office, he said he thought I should tell his operations manager Steve this. He said it was only a gate and he would try his best to squeeze us in. Our pool gate was installed today and our pool will open on time! They even put up with me calling them five or six times in a day and still were nice to me! I even got a thank you call for the cookies!

The entire process was fantastic. My Salesman was here at the time he said he would be. Walked w/ me as we discussed what I wanted. Emailed me pictures as well as giving a verbal quote. The next day I had the quote on paper. As far as the crew went ... VERY professional. Came to the door upon arrival in the morning and also when leaving at night The finished fence is everything I hoped - and then some!!!!

SUPERIOR FENCE & CONSTRUCTION TREATED ME VERY GOOD AND THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL WHEN THEY INSTALLED OUR FENCE. WE HAD THEM PUT IN A 'GOOD NEIGHBOR' FENCE OUT OF CEDAR. IT WAS STRAIGHT AND HIGH QUALITY.
